  1. Damn. Only way to get our guy now is to go to the Giants at 2. I was afraid this would happen. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF UGGGGGGGGGG!!
  2. He won't go in the 3rd. He'll go in the first. I've said in the past that I wouldn't take him before the 3rd but after re-watching some of his tape, I can see why GM's like him. I also said in another thread, I still do not think he's the guy for the Buffalo Bills. I just do not see that. The stuff that he needs to clean up will require a great QB Coach/OC who works with QB's. He has a bit of Pat Mahomes traits. The arm is also similar. But I don't want him in Buffalo but I do think if goes to the right place and learns some things he can begin to correct some of the bad dimensions of his game.
  3. Not knocking the idea but let me just ask some questions. 1) We needed to move on from TT because he's a limited QB that's not going to get us to the promised land. Is this correct? 2) Don't you think Dorsey, an NFL GM might also realize this? 3) The Browns have already traded their #2 QB away in Kizer. Why would they do that if they did not have plans in bringing in another rookie to sit behind TT? Why not just allow Kizer to continue to develop? I have several other questions but these are starters.
  4. I'm not an Allen fan, but I've never said he'd be a bust. I won't cast future predictions and I'll remain open to see what guys do. I just don't think he's right for the Bills. I think the Bills need a polished product or a near polished product and he's no where close to that. Let's look at two games and watch what is consistent. On the majority of his passes watch his helmet and what do you notice? What I notice is it's not on a swivel. For the most part, the only time he looks to the other side of the field is when he's trying to escape pressure. There were a couple of throws in here where he did read the field. On the majority of his passes look at his ball placement. I think the argument that his WR's are not good is only half the story. When you look at the bad throws he makes, they are BAD throws. It's not that the WR's dropped them the ball placement is bad. 3:17 Swing Pass has way too much on it 3:30 Quick Hitch - Too much on this pass 3:36 Quick Bench Route - Way too much on this pass 3:55 Stick Route - Where are you throwing this? At least the under coverage players didn't have a shot either 4:01-11 actually a stand out WR makes this catch. Great job by Allen of hanging in there and making a play. 4:23 Too much 4:30 Bullet. Nice Pass and finally moves his head 4:45 OUTSTANDING Throw. 5:00 Not a good decision. Not sure what he saw there. 5:26 Man, this reminds me of me as a little league pitcher. I had a 75 mph fast ball at 10 years old, but it didn't always hit the catchers mit LOL. Sometimes it would go over the empire. Sometimes it was so far out of the strike zone away from the batter and sometimes, well, sorry kid, that sounds like it hurts. 5:34 Short pass to TE but TE is reaching up to get it. 5:42 Good throw. 5:50 Good throw 5:54 Way too high. Too much on the pass. 6:01 Bad decision, but his power keeps Jewel from the INT 6:18 good throw To be fair, Allen made some good throws against Iowa as I note above, he also made some really bad throws. His ball placement is a problem. Notice also, even on the good throws, he's not taking anything off the throws. Every pass is a rocket. He's going to have to learn when he needs to dial it down. Like others, what I like that stands out with Allen is the arm and the athleticism. He has that for sure. No doubt the strongest arm in the class. Let's look at another game: 2016 vs Nebraska Starts with some throws that are on the mark. 00:46 Same velocity but too high 00:56 Good athleticism 1:15 On the money pass. Didn't like his lack of footwork here though 1:22 Nice throw to the perimeter 1:39 Good athleticism. Actually was more lucky here. 2:05 quick swing pass - way too much on this 2:16 good pass; I'm not sure about the decision. There is a defender there but he got away with it so I'll say ok. 2:35 TE wide open down the seam. Too High 2:55 Too high again 3:29 Perfect coverage. Probably should have looked elsewhere 4:03 Athleticism and arm. What a play!! 4:27 Caught but behind the WR 4:37 Nice Throw. Threaded the needle. 4:55 Good throw on the run 5:10 High and was not a good decision 5:22 Very high lol 6:13 7:03 Behind the WR and still too much on it resulting in an interception 7:52 what a throw in the move. Gessh. 8:05 swing pass to hb, behind him resulting in a backwards pass 8:27 Man this guy has a cannon 8:39 Was rooting for you Josh but who??? INT 9:17 why??? 9:34 WR if Allen leads out front can catch this. Threw behind him. Another INT It's crazy how when you look at some things again you do see stuff you didn't see before. I'm going to re-watch some others. I'll say this, Allen to me, is not the guy for the Bills. But man, he has a rare arm. His passes from one hash to the wide perimeter are beautiful passes. He's got a gun. I can see why people really like him. He also has decent athleticism to make plays with his feet. He's just too inaccurate and to me it's because he has not learned when to dial it down; when to take something off his throws. All of his passes are lasers. There is a little of Patrick Mahomes in his game too. I can see him being taken around the same spot. He has a lot to clean up but I still wouldn't put him in the Rosen and Mayfield camp. I'm going to look at some more of JA today. Give this guy to an Andy Reid or coach who is good at developing QB's and he could very well clean up some of this quicker than fans think but some things will linger. Again, I don't see him as the guy for the Bills, but if someone is able to take their time with him he could very well be an elite talent. His arm reminds me of Flacco. Unfortunately, right now, his accuracy does as well. Off to re-watch more.
  5. Ian Rapoport‏Verified account @RapSheet 5m5 minutes agoMore If #Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict loses his appeal of a 4-game suspension, the guarantees in his 3-year, $33M contract will void. That’s nearly $11.3M. Which means Cincy can move on if they want to.
  6. He failed a physical with the Ravens. Their WR position is worse than ours and even our QB need. If you can't get on with them as a WR then ....
  7. It's not hate. It's wanting more athleticism, that's all. Just like people wanted to move on from TT, others also wanted to move on from PB. Like TT PB is a stand up guy. So no I wouldn't say people hate him. We just want better at the position. Because like TT, the limitations in his skillset will hold a coordinator back. If Brown's lack of athleticism were not an issue then people wouldn't have any issue whatsoever having him back. It'll be interesting to see where Marvin Lewis plays him. I think he'll do well in Marvin's defense and hopefully, it lands him a long-term deal with either the Bengals or some other team.
  8. But would the Colts take a guy they drafted and let go back or has the bridge sailed for them? They'd probably ask for Shaq instead.
  9. We'll get one. Some other players will be around in rd 2.
  10. As I said in the other thread, The Bengals came through for us AGAIN
  11. Damn man. The Bengals have come through for us AGAIN!!
  12. Beane is handling this like a pro. Just like a week or so ago where he talked about liking picks and being comfortable at 21 and 22. He's right though, he doesn't KNOW anything yet because we do not have a suitor. Hopefully, we get one and can move further down in the draft. Beane has made it so that he'll be right regardless of what happens LOL.
  13. I look at Preston analogously to TT. You know that TT is only going to take you so far and give you so much and that you can only do so much with him offensively so you as a coach get limited. To me, it's the same with Brown but on the other side of the football. The limitations are just too much. He's a two-down player. This is undeniable yet because we didn't have the depth he had to play and McD did everything he could to keep him out of coverage. Ramon Humber was the same way. When we were in Nickel subpackages the Patriots destroyed us by going empty and forcing both Brown and Humber to cover and even when they had zone assignments they still gave up plays in their area because they don't have the twitchiness to make a tackle once a guy gets going. I honestly do not want Preston or Humber back. If we do not have the capital to draft other guys and are forced to bring them back then I guess but I won't be happy about it. I'll just say it this way. McD ran his defense with less than ideal players in the front 7 and the secondary did a great job. The run defense and the pass rush were bad. Imagine what he could do with a good linebacker group. The DL is stacked at the end position, we just need one more DT. If we could get an athletic linebacker in round 2 like South Carolina State's Darius Leonard I'd be thrilled. I think Vander Esch might climb and find himself in rd 1 but if not he'd also be a great fit. Finally, Oren Burks would be a good player to grab in rd 3. I just really want to move on from PB. No one is asking for perfection. We just want upgrades so that McD can do a little bit more defensively.
  14. Hopefully the Colts have a high grade on Davenport. We need the #3 pick. More than likely rather than 67 we'd get a 4th rounder, which would be perfect since we don't have one.
  15. I'd prefer a fresh start at MLB. He gets exposed way too much in the passing game, especially by NE. He might want more money. Nobody is beating down his doors though. Hopefully, someone is willing to give him 4.5 and he takes it and we move on.
  16. I try my best not to do this, but, I'm all aboard the Rosen express. I like other players at the position, Darnold, Mayfield, Falk, but Rosen I feel like would be perfect for the Bills. He's ready. He's got everything you want in a QB. I'm ready to deal 12, 22 and next year's 1st to the Giants or Colts. Full Court Press.
  17. I'd be more excited if we took Mike White or Luke Falk in rd 3 than I would if we take Josh Allen in the 1st round especially at 12 or anything lower. That's all I have to say LOL.
  18. My guess is the Bills board looks like this: Early 1st 1) Darnold 2) Rosen Mid/Late 1st 3) Mayfield 4) Allen 2nd 5) Jackson 3rd 6) White 7) Falk 8) Rudolph Honestly, I wouldn't put Allen in the 1st but since there's just too much buzz around him you have to.
  19. If Carolina is an indication, then I'd say we are probably not going to bring in a vet WR and we may not take one in the 2nd or 3rd in the draft. We might roll with this group.
  20. And this was on display at the Senior Bowl. Even when he cleaned things up a little in the 2nd half it was him throwing to his first read who just happened to be open. When I watch Allen I see a guy who is way too unfinished, unpolished and risky to take in the first three rounds. Ball placement and accuracy are way too spotty. People point out the Senior Bowl and I say yes, but let's look at the entire game and the entire week. His game was reflective of his week. His week started off bad just like his game did. His week improved. In the 2nd half of the senior bowl his accuracy was better. But what was not better? His mechanics and processing the defense. To me he's just way too much of a project. People can cite Kelly and Favre all they want but here's the thing with those two. The former played at Miami and they played schools like ND, Nebraska, OU, Penn State which were all great teams in the late 70's and early 80's. You could see Kelly had something special about him. Favre played at Southern Miss which is a small school, but they played big conferences, SEC being one of them. Favre also displayed the IT factor and would have been in consideration for the Heisman had he not gotten in a car wreck. From the moment he took his first snap under center you knew there was something special about Favre. Josh Allen has none of this. NONE. It actually wasn't good. I know you know that you don't have to agree with him LOL. It was decent in the 2nd half. Why are people forgetting the 1st half? LOL. His first half was bad.
  21. I'm not sure I'd say that's easily solved. That's actually giving up more than Philly did and it looks like more than the Rams for a spot lower than they had. 3 first rounders?? Philly sent two first round picks (2016 and 2017), 1 second (2018), 1 third (2016), and 1 4th (2016). This was for the #2 spot. They paid a fortune for it. OK. Fine, but now you are saying that we should pay more than what they paid? As much as I want a QB I'm not sure I can get on board with that. Here is what the Rams had to give up: 1st 2016 and 2017 2nd x 2 2016 3rd 2016 So essentially, you're saying we should possibly pay more than what the Rams paid the Titans for the #1 spot for the #3 spot? Certainly paying more than the Eagles paid.
  22. We have to get to 3 minimum IMO. But it all depends on what the Giants do at 2. If the Giants surprise and take a QB at 2, I think we're screwed out of the QB sweepstakes because I don't see the Colts passing up on Barkley at all especially with the Browns sitting at 4.
  23. I think the Giants will take Barkley. I'd be stunned if they take a QB in rd 1. Although it's not out of consideration. Actually, I take that back. Telling the media that you are rolling with Eli could be a smokescreen. Sure you are rolling with Eli, but that doesn't mean you don't have an eye on a replacement. The Giants could actually take a QB. Ughhh, the Giants are the key to this entire puzzle IMO. If they take a QB over Barkley I think we are screwed out of the #3 pick. It'll take a cold day in hell to get the Colts to pass on Barkley. So then it becomes a log-jam for #4 where I can see Denver trying to jump 1 spot, the Jets trying to jump two spots and the Bills trying to jump 8 spots. I hope this does not happen because if the Broncos or Jets offer Cleveland a 2nd round pick to move back two spots I think the Browns will make the deal with them if they covet Fitzpatrick. By only moving back one or two spots they still get him and they pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd. Denver has two 2nds and 3 3rds to play with. Damn man, this is not going to be smooth sailing.
  24. Had they not signed Hyde I think the Browns would have taken Barkley #1 overall. It's still a possibility but to me now it is less likely because they can still get a back like Juice in the 1st round. I think the Browns where they are sitting now, will take Sam Darnold or Josh Allen #1 overall. They will definitely entertain several offers for the #4 pick. This is why the Bills IMO need to get to #3. If the Bills get to #3 they can take their pick of Rosen or Mayfield or whoever is not selected by the Browns. I don't want Allen, I've made that known lol. But the Beane and McD will select the best guy that fits in with what they are building. Denver or NYJ or Miami or Arizona will be selling their lives to Cleveland at the 4. The Browns could sell 4 to either Denver or NYJ and still get Fitzpatrick at CB and pick up an extra 3rd round pick (the one the lost to us). Right now if I had to predict the way the draft would go in the first 4 picks I'd say: 1. Browns - Darnold 2. Giants - Barkley 3. Trade Alert 4. Trade Alert The tricky part is figuring out 3 and 4.
  25. It's not far fetched. That's why I liked the McCarron signing. Not only is he competition, but he is also insurance. There are no guarantees that we will get into the top 3 picks. I'm sure we will do our best and Beane will be very aggressive. But someone still has to say yes. And if they do not I guess we just go BPA and take a QB where we can. It will be disappointing but at least we tried. We don't get to control what others will do. So we'll see how it goes. I'm hoping someone takes the bait though.
