  1. I like this Wade guy. I hope he makes the team.
  2. Gotta be the home team. Otherwise the Cowboys couldn't have their tradition of always wearing white uniforms at home.
  3. It's refreshing to see a guy really get into and appreciate the work these guys do in the trenches. He's having as much fun breaking down Nelson. I completely forgot he was lining up against Nelson. What a great first test.
  4. If McCoy has any semblance of a line to work with this year, he will be just fine. He's the type of back that really gets the most out of good run blocking at the point of attack. He's better in space than between the tackles, so if his line can do the basics he will have another 4-5 YPC year, even though I too expect some reduced amount of touches.
  5. The thing that puzzles me is, in the wake of all this (rightful) disdain of much of mainstream media, it's obvious that there is a large appetite for just this kind of reporting (i.e. just genuine news). If there is a market for facts without spin, why do so many outlets try to do the opposite and pander to a specific audience? Maybe the market for spin is bigger than I am giving it credit for.
  6. That's always what I felt like too. It's also worthy to note that both agencies (which generally just report facts with very little spin) are some of the most centrist and respected news agencies.
  7. This is why you want good depth at defensive back. Durability is often a concern, especially for corners (safeties seem to get injured less frequently). And the best part? We have good depth at DB. That's all on Beane folks. In addition, McD's defense doesn't rely on stud corners sitting on an island (although it's certainly nice to be able to lean on one at times with White), so Beane can acquire 3-4 decent guys rather than 1-2 studs without hurting the defense.
  8. +1. I've never heard that before.
  9. Wasn't Spiller a Ralph mandate? I kinda remember him giving a presser defending the selection, because at the time we had Lynch and Jackson and there was a lot of flak for the Spiller pick.
  10. Makes them less competitive by eating up more of the capped salary? Idk, trying to find a silver lining.
  11. Interesting poll results. I kinda expected the opposite. Also, I live in Bills country, about an hour north of Orchard Park.
  12. Gibbs notably won 3 Superbowls with 3 different starting quarterbacks in the span of 10 years.
  13. It's his speed/acceleration/etc. type stats that are boosting his overall rating.
  14. This was predicted years ago. It was just a matter of time. When front 7's get smaller but offensive lines stay the same size, this is what you get.
  15. Do you know how long McD and Beane are under contract for? Did they get 5 year plans?
  16. I like it. The style is a bit heavy, but I have enough of a love of history to dig it. I prefer more modern, clean, and sleek designs and style.
  17. He might be able to squeak out a deal closer to 40 million over 4 years with +25 guaranteed. The only issue is that (imo) it is risky to tie up significant amounts of guaranteed $$ in a RB because they get hit so often. I have no idea if RBs are the most statistically prone to injury (kinda feels like DBs are at the top and OL at the bottom), but they definitely take the most pounding.
  18. Interesting.
  19. I always thought sophomore slumps only applied to certain positions, and QB wasn't traditionally one of them.
  20. I happen to be a chemical engineer so it's ironic you chose to use chemistry. But that's part of the problem: too many would rather be entertained than educated. A highly entertained but poorly educated populace stinks of the mob in Rome. Also, science is literally the reason why we have the free time to partake in things like sports and other forms of entertainment...
  21. You've convinced me. Science is bad.
  22. A part of me is glad he got denied. I hope they were French too.
  23. That's part of what I love about the NFL. For all the pass-happy schemes and attention that QBs get, at the end of the day if you cannot run the ball and defend the run in the NFL, you are toast. Running up the middle and gaining good yardage is one of the harder things to do, but if you can do it then that threat is something the opposing defense HAS to account for on every play. Likewise, it's also one of the easier plays to defend, and if your defense can't at least put up a fight in the middle of the trenches then that will filter down to the rest of your defense.
