What a bunch of slime. Think of all the wins by other teams throughout the league's history that didn't involve cheating and how this marginalizes their efforts. I think the best thing for the NFL's image would be to ban Belichick, expunge the Patriots record of the past 20 years, and force them to sell/move the team. You'd be throwing 1 fan base under the bus (the fans didn't cheat) but the other 31 fan bases (and the new 32nd) would be rejuvenated at a time when the future of professional football isn't exactly certain.
