Same. I see him signing anywhere from 8-10 because he's the classic type of person that gets overpaid.

Biden Confronts The Economic Crisis
Capco replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You really don't see the connection? You implied that the people who favored war were at fault for favoring war, and that it was reflective of their "judgment and ability to lead the country." So, if Trump was also in favor of war, it is axiomatic that this too was reflective of his judgment and ability to lead the country. -
We are very much on the same page in that case. Fwiw, I’m a full believer in constitutions and the rule of law. I read your post as suggesting such institutions were a given and consequently that there was never anything to worry about. I think there is always something to potentially worry about. Complacency breeds corruption. Every person in power ought to be watched closely. Period.

The learning moment here is just how fragile democracy is and just how much diligence is required to maintain it. Don’t ever just take this for granted because of past history. It wasn’t a piece of parchment that preserved our democracy. It was the women and men TODAY who refused to give it up without a fight.

My dad is 92 and watches Fox News daily. Unfortunately he fell for the My Pillow scammer. I told him I could get him a much better pillow if a new pillow was what he wanted. He refused and demanded I order two of them for him. He threw them out after the first night and fell in love with the ones I bought him after that.... Sadly, that's just one of many examples of him falling for those infomercials. It is DISGUSTING how much predatory crap is being peddled to the elderly on that channel.

Whaaaaat?! She's 5'2'' and he's 6'6''... How does that even happen?

I've been saying this ever since we signed Star and people were screaming for heads. So many people don't understand the trenches in football because it doesn't get the same level of attention as the skill positions (and corresponding defensive positions). He's a tremendous asset in the run defense and got paid what he was worth. Period.

Week 14 SNF Bills vs Steelers 1st Half Gameday Thread

I thought Levi was trash. Haters gonna hate. -
I kind of preferred when the sport was a little more violent, when DBs could be more physical with receivers, when QBs could get laid tf out, etc. Granted there were terrible physical and mental repercussions for the players that played during these times as we now know about CTE, but in a perfect, injury-free world I think that would be the best way to play football. The rules as they are today are more considerate of player health and the science of maximizing our body's output has only improved since the days of yore, thereby increasing the longevity of the great talents. So there's something to be said for that as well.

Final Vote—All States, Progress in counting
Capco replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Trump will declare himself winner by tonight even if a couple days of counting is what's necessary. They've already admitted it. At that point you'll have two stories for both sides to pick from, and two "winners." This could get really bad. -
Don't forget we are all Americans at the end of the day. I know this is PPP but we all can be a little more civil for the next several hours. Breathe. Relax. And enjoy the show!

The barbarians are attacking. Rome may fall.

Head, meet sand. -
Really? You know when a person is speaking in generalities, they use the plural form, right? I'm not a big fan of criminals who want to be dictators, either. Trump could very well be an example of one of those types. If you're going to call someone out for being stupid, you can't be stupid in your call-out by incorrectly calling them out.

McD's teams will likely have achieved 3 playoff appearances in 4 years. Before that we had a nearly 2-decade playoff drought. I know we're not an elite team just yet, but we are definitely one of the better teams in the league.

I can at least respect this line of thinking even if I don't agree with it, because it exemplifies your ideological consistency. And that's something I appreciate. The rest of your post honestly puzzles me, apart from your story of overcoming adversity. And this too is something I appreciate and respect. I'll take you at your word and congratulate you on a job well done. I happen to be a big believer in government as long as it is a "government of the people, by the people, and for the people," to quote Lincoln. Just curious: what do you think of Lincoln as a president? He is usually ranked in the top 3, and of those rankings he typically resides in the top 2 (the other being Washington). Likewise, the other top 3 president is usually considered to be FDR. What do you think of FDR as a president?

The Declaration of Independence can at best be used as a persuasive authority. And honestly I'm not even sure how persuasive it would be. Granted, I haven't taken Constitutional Law yet, but none of the SCOTUS cases I have read so far have cited the Declaration. Always happy to inform. I am well aware of these quotes you speak of, and believe it or not they resonate greatly with me as well. But they are in no way legally binding. I've already addressed this I believe.
-
The Declaration of Independence is not a binding legal document. It's a letter sent to King George III. Also, there is nothing about due process in the Declaration. The Due Process Clause resides in the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments. It's amazing how much I've already learned in law school and I still have 2 years to go. You genuinely think you know what you're talking about... but you don't.

Just because views are different does not automatically make them co-equal. If someone starts talking about bringing back slavery, am I supposed to treat that view just like any other? I'm not comparing your views to slavery. I'm only trying to highlight the inherent falsehood of treating all views as equal. That's a bunch of malarkey.

I'm a chemical engineer that is attending law school. The only one underestimating the other's intelligence in this conversation is you. You might want to take your own advice about judging people's intelligence on the internet. HOWEVER, I don't doubt that you're an accomplished individual with a wealth of wisdom that I could learn a thing or two from. I'm sorry if I've come across as crass. Maybe we'll have some more productive chats than this one in the future. Good night!

The purpose for rights is not the same as the rights themselves. I'll say it one more time: There is no right to intimidating others with violence or to overthrow the government. There is a right to bear arms. A "4.0 College Grad" (you're not supposed to capitalize those words, btw) doesn't know the difference between there and their? Which college did you attend again?
