  1. Lol Lets break this mess down... the Who, The responsibilities that concern the line on any given play and my personal opinions. Variables and Bottom Line to follow. Who: <Responsibilities> <Personal Opinion> GM: Is the gm doing the right job getting the right type of OL Men we need? NO We need a line that can pass protect better than run block. HC: How much of the offensive scheme is on the HC and how involved is he imposing his will on the overall Scheme. Defensive HC is invoved but not enough to change a ton OC: Is putting the best players out there going from one year to the next? Is his play designs on the OL proper to the play? For example, for screens is his lines running the right stunts? is he play calling for what the OL Does best? We do not use the whole field, We need routs that take up the field more that splits the defenders up more. 3 man routs for example on first and 10, 2 going deep, another going 10 yards+ and HB hitting flat. This is not using the whole field. TEC: Are the TE's doing a good enough job chipping at the line? I think the TE's do an average to good job chipping away at the OL as they go out to receive. HBC: When they go out to catch, how often are HB's helping by chipping at the line? I think if HB's are going out to receive with this line? they need to chip more OLC: Is the OLC Teaching these guys proper technique? Only the Coaches on the field can tell if he is doing a good job. NO WAY can anyone not on the field tell us otherwise. Variables: OC needs better play designs then what we are running right now. IF JA is audabising away from the play to frequently then it is up to the coaches to tell him to knock it off. QB needs to trust the play caller coming in and not think he has to gun it 10+ yards on every down Plays need to be designed so the HB and the TE's are either staying in to block OR Chipping and not just free running. Thats how you help the OL. The OLC needs to know when his line needs help and remind the coaches more when they are failing. These PFF grades? just the overall right? where we failing more? what is the breakdown? We failing more at pass protection or run blocking? PFF is a GREAT TOOL if your not just looking at ONE number. Bottom Line you guys want to just put the blame game on one person? keep rolling with that!
  2. Blame can be spread to a ton of coaches and not just one if you ask yourself the smart questions.
  3. The Investment to von on this team = The investment of Hill in Miami. I would have rather taken that money and put it into a solid G/T to protect JA.
  4. the fact that you just made the argument personal like this, speaks volumes. I have been respectful the whole time.
  5. Riverside I normally agree with your posts, but people that post the bolded give me the knee jerk reaction to want to kick someone in the nuts. (no offense to you) This team gets a ton of wins BECAUSE of Josh Allen and yes I agree, every team has their issues. BUT... Here is my issue. Name a top 4 team with an offensive line anywhere near as ours (Barring Injuries) Name a top 4 team this is this average at the WR positions outside Diggs. Name a top 4 team (current) that struggles so much with their draft picks? So, you MIGHT find a top 4 team in each of those categories that might have an issue but ALL 3? Right now, I compare us to the old Indy Colts team. Great QB, Decent WR's and a horrible offensive line. Again, just concerning the bolded... it's almost like your being nonchalant about it. If all we do is put together a top 10 offensive line this year and nothing else? I think we can outscore every team and it won't matter who we play at defense and then, only then will I feel as nonchalant as you are right now. Sorry River, this is not personal. Just how I feel right now.
  6. The only way I can see fiix this is temp fix defense with age and hit a home run in the draft on offensive line and WR. we ca
  7. Sorry, this is not over-reaction Monday or Tuesday, This is reality and you poked holes in your own story. We need. Depth at the HB Position A starting guard (not that we know what one looks like around here lately) A starting RT. Ditto a true #2 WR and not a fake want a bee. 3 starters on offense. You following me so far? A Starting DT A Starting ILB (god knows we wont have the money to pay Edmunds) A Starting FS. Poyer likely not staying either 3 starters on Defense. 6 huge holes. I have only touched on depth at the HB position. OH YEA. And we start at less then 10 mil to the good at the beginning of the year. Maybe restructuring JA and adding 10-15 mil will help but we have 37 contracts going into the new football season. You can maybe argue the DT position or the LB position... but come on... our depth on both lines is sloppy at best. This is not about over reaction... oh no no no... this is the reality of the situation. Then people talking about "oh we stuch a bad team with holes then why did we win 14 games" 1. We have a dude named Josh Allen 2. Our Defense is built to beat the average at best teams but we tend to struggle with good teams... 2-3 years in a row. This isn't over reaction. this is a dose of reality..
  8. I call threads like this Backyard Trolls. Well hidden trolls when you add answers like that.
  9. the fact that you have QB there and names are hidden? This poll going to draw out the trolls.
  10. the scheme is not the fatal flaw if you have the right players on both sides. We don't and that is up to the coaching to recognize this. At what point do we reconize that coaching is doing one of 2 things... going up the slippery slope and falling backwards or falling down that same slope and not having control....
  11. Finally, an idea I absolutely love. but how are we going to afford that RG and RT?
  12. I was PrimeTime on the old boards. Tried getting that name here but someone beat me to it. So i added the school of thought thus, 101
  13. there's another topic on this exact same topic.. I agree to a point... But it's the coach's job to keep the players' minds in the RIGHT PLACE... and if that is why they failed then the STAFF FAILED
  14. Bro.. For starters there is a COUPLE topics on this very thing. If all you want to do is trade for old. be my guest and let the offensive line show the rest.
  15. I will give you 2 guesses and it's not age or competence. Oh wait, maybe it is.
  16. You guys Laugh it up. Rogers got 2 MVP's under him and this team is way more complete than Denver or GB
  17. we have SO MANY threads on this topic. There is a Poll that highly touches on this topic. How many new topics on the same exact things are we going to make? That being said this is very well written and I disagree. We cant afford to take another chance on our OC and possibly waste another year of JA
  18. it was my chief complaint on the offseason. OL OL OL. they did very little to help the OL.
  19. For all those that say "Im not done with Brown yet... he still has a shot" GEE WIZ MAN.. the dude had his shot and FAILED. We we need a starting caliber LG and RT. when that happens the people beside them will go up like morse especially.
