Sorry if this is a duplicate, there are a couple training camp threads but nobody seems to be posting in them much anymore.

I live in Cincinnati and my family wanted to come up for a training camp practice but doesn't seem like had much success via the lottery. Anyone know if we would be able to attend the blue and red practice if we came up?  Obviously don't want to drive 7 hours to not attend.  Wanted to also take the little ones to Niagara falls.

Thank you so much in advance. If this does get deleted feel free to DM me any tips / information.

you get the ticket for it.. but its not seat specific.. show up in line about an hour to 45 minutes early and you get a really really good seat about anywhere you want.

Maybe (But i doubt it) this can quite some of those that complained about Beane trading Teller to the Browns . Although it would have been nice to have him because he is a bad man but he was more of a unknown then than now but Beane has definitely focused on the O line since .

And some his his picks have been pilfered by other teams so they must like his work too !!

Lazy Comparison. McGovern was already looking good in Dallas but they had lineman stacked Teller never got really good till after he was traded.

I think it's a matter of the further we get into the cell phone era, folks become jaded and put less meaning and effort into it.

Taking 10 whole seconds to type an accurate thread title is just toooooooo much.

and yet.. the automated title change still sits there with this silly thread. :D :D :D

I think there’s more mouths to feed now, thus why my numbers were what they were. I also think we run a bit more the entire year (versus only when Brady took over). To me, I expect Josh’s completions to go up, yards and turnovers to go down.

    1. Samuel was one of only 2 decent receivers on a bad Washington team. I expect him to play all over the field (he was a slot in Washington) but I see him still playing like a WR2 and also being a safety net, running shorter routes and the potential to break out with his speed and do more YAC work.

    2. My thought process on Cook is he will run more and catch less, with Davis eating into a few of his targets as he is reported to have very good hands. He could certainly do better, but I expect receivers to be able to get open and avoid him being targeted as frequently.

    3. I had Shakir pencilled in for more yards initially, but scaled it back a bit as the wr4 and wr5 will be a bit more dependable when they do get looked at. I think he could absolutely outperform my projection, but I also don’t believe Josh is gonna be hitting 4500+ yards this season. 4300 is a bit closer to my expectation with Diggs gone and getting mostly new WRs up to Josh’s speed.

    4. I also think DK could outperform my projections, but again, I was considering the other additions and playing more to the style we saw in GB last year with many good-great receivers but not one tried and true WR1

My numbers may not add up in your eyes, and again I thought this up while working and just throwing darts on my projections. I hope they outperform by every metric but someone is gonna do better and someone is gonna do worse. It’s just offseason daydreams at this point prior to training camp.

still your target > AVG > Yards Ratio was not adding up at all... Is there more targets sure...  But that really means nothing cause Diggs took out a ton of targets last year. We are a Pass first team so thinking Cook will run more with the Depth at HB we have now does not make sense.  i get where your going but noting adds up right.

I did pretty dang good at predicting catches/yards for Kincaid last year, so I’ll probably be wayyyy off this year. Not only that, but I get to predict who we keep on the team as well, which is hard enough without training camp. All that being said, here’s my future bad take:

    Coleman: 77 Catches, 688 yards, 6 TDs

    Samuel: 82 Catches, 761 yards, 6 TDs

Kincaid: 69 catches (nice), 702 yards, 4 TDs

    Shakir: 52 catches, 562 yards, 4 TDs

    Knox: 37 catches, 414 yards, 4 TDs

    Claypool: 33 catches, 303 yards, 3 TDs

    MVS: 24 catches, 219 yards, 2 TDs

    Cook: 36 catches, 347 yards, 3 TDs

    Davis: 14 catches, 211 yards, 1 TD

    Hollins: 8 catches, 147 yards, 1 TD

    Totals yardage: 4,354

    Total Passing TDs: 34

Again, this is the “way-too-early thoughts of a guy kinda working while missing football” predictions. Hopefully they are even better but time will tell.

There are a few things wrong with this.

#1. Samuel had 62 rec. for 613 yards with not the best of QB's throwing at him. If he catches the ball 82 times.. Expect closer to a 900 yard season.

#2. James cook is going to get better not worse. 625 last year... near 700 yards this year.

#3 Shakir.. 39 catches for 611 yards last year... If he catches 52 times... expect a 675-700 year at least.

#4 Kincaid hes likely going to get more and not less receptions this year.. 73 receptions for 650+ yards last year, Makes no sense that Kincaid's catches go down not up...

your numbers do not add up.

Prisco only has one player on the Bills (Josh Allen) in his top 100 NFL players for 2024.  Not surprising, and probably consistent with the view that the Bills have a number of solid players but only Josh Allen as a true blue chip caliber player.

    any links? anything?

Dude, he's been off to a great start, but I'm sorry, I want actual difference-makers to be talked about.

How do I have to be stuck arguing AGAINST a player I really like.

But he hasn't done ***** yet.

    Tell me I'm wrong.

    ONE BIG pike of DOODOO

If Cook had same amount of snaps Thurman had his first year....... I am not saying hes top 5 YET... Just stop looking at yards and START looking at how many carries the dude has and his average...

To be fair, aside from Thurman Thomas, none of them had a Qb in the same ballpark to play with as Josh Allen. They’d face a lot more stacked boxes than Cook.

So what? My point is... You can call Singletary average... no one should be calling cook average.. Cook is way better... Using the word average for him is so bad..

    1. Thomas - Leads all Bills players in scrimmage yards

    2. OJ - He truly was a killer RB.

    3. Joe Cribbs - 3 1000 yard season plus nearly 1800 yard in receptions

    4. Fred Jackson - Thy name is longevity, but only 1 1000 yard season

    5. Travis Henry - 2 huge seasons seasons (1438 & 1356), but then was gone much to soon

HM - Marshawn Lynch & McCoy

    Top FB

    1. Jim Braxton

    2. Cookie Gilchrist

Did you know that Josh Allen is 7th in career rushing yards for the Bills.

It's much much to early to label Cook as anything but a potentially excellent player for the Bills. Cook's Rushing stats were our 21st best rush season (we have had 31 1000 yard rushing seasons) and he currently its 20th on our all-time list.

OJ had 5 1000+ yard seasons (in only 14 games)

Thurman had 8 (16 games seasons).

Truthfully the Bills have had only 2 great RBs plus Lynch who they moved on from much to soon.

Yep and all of these names were in the "run first era" you look at the carries these guys had compared to cooks... big difference... 60-100 more caries between the 2 years for each of those players accept Fred.

This conversation is way too early. I like Cook, but right now his first two seasons just about match Antowain Smith's first two seasons as far as total yards. Smith had more TDs.

Ok ok OK... Lets get some Perspective here guys ok?

Antowain Smiths first 2 years he had 495 carries

Cook first 2 years he had 326 caries..

This is a pass first league. Different even when we had Thurman even.

    Thurman's 505 caries first 2 years

McCoy 437 first 2 years in Buffalo

Travis Henry 538 carries the first 2 years in buffalo.

The argument is, the more snaps, the more Average per carry goes down cause of all the no gains...

The other argument is... the more snaps... also = more blow out plays as well.

The bottom line... You cant compare our top 5 with Cook cause it was a different league with the top 5. its not a fair comparison. at all.

The best thing you can do is look at averages only...  You cant even compare reception yards to that area, cause that era.. defenses were slower and screen plays were

    in its prime...

So lets look at OTHER Numbers.. OTHER than yards ok?

Thurman Thomas.. Rushing TD first 2 years 6 Cook first 2 years 4

Thurman Thomas Passing TD first 2 years 6 Cook first 2 years 5

Thurman Thomas Rushing Average first 2 years 4.25 Cook 5.2

Lets look at total rushing yards.. JUST FOR FUN...

Thomas 2125 total yards   Cook 1629

Cook split his snaps his first year.   Last year cook got 1122 yards Thurman got 1244

Thurman had 61 more caries his second year

Do I think Cook is a top 5 right NOW? Heck no... its stupid even trying to go there... out right dumb..  Put people calling cook average? Thats down right

    hating...

I dare you guys put cook at one of the few teams that runs first... and then look at cooks yards..

    AND NOT TO MENTION...

Thurman had an amazing offensive line.

    Stop hating Cook...

  11. Chicago Bears, 36 total hall of famers.

"What team do you feel has had the most collection of talent in the history of sports?"

I think OP needs to make this more specific. History as in most in one year history or ever? as in total?

I noticed in his input that, he mentions teams during an era.  Bills had 5 players a HC and a GM during an Era. That cant be ignored either.

There's been a lot of talk about how many of Josh Allen's interceptions are just as good as punts.  I was curious as to how true this is so I looked at the data for the last two seasons.  To summarize, the idea of a "arm punt" is greatly exaggerated, only 2 out of 32 interceptions met my criteria as an arm punt.  Details are given below:

I counted an arm punt as (1) at least 3rd down  (2) outside field goal range (outside opponent's 40 yard line) (3) intercepted at least 35 yards past the line of scrimmage (4) at least 5 yards to go.  This last criteria is because I find it hard to believe that if you need less than 5 yards to get a first down, the best option is to throw it 40 yards downfield.

For the 2023 season with 18 interceptions, 7 were on 1st down, 4 were on 2nd down, 6 on 3rd down, and 1 on 4th down.  Out of these last 7, only 2 on the interceptions meet the criteria:

Game 1 vs Jets 3rd and 8 from the Bills 31, intercepted 60 yards down field

Game 5 vs Jaguars 3rd and 15 from the Bills 41, intercepted 52 yards down field.

All the other 3rd down interceptions went less than 16 yards pass the line of scrimmage (2 were with the line of scrimmage in field goal range). The 4th down pass was from the Dolphin 35 and was a 4th and 2.

For the 2022 season with 14 interceptions, 3 were on 1st down, 6 were on 2nd down, 4 were on 3rd down and 1 was on 4th down.  None of the 3rd and 4th down interceptions went further than 20 yards pass the line of scrimmage and 2 of the 3rd down interceptions.

Of course, there are other reasons why an interception is justifiable, for example, 1 of the 2023 interceptions was a hail mary and you can argue you have to force it on 4th down but I don't feel the arm punt excuse is valid.

There is not nearly enough data here and I will give some examples..

Third and 10 at the 30 with a huge lead.. Risk/reward

4th down at the 20 yard line with like 15 yards needed... again way ahead.

games 0-0 late in the second. Third down.. long.. Take a shot.

There are plenty of scenarios where it didn't matter if he threw an INT..

All this being said... does he throw too many sloppy throws? Yes... he does.. no doubt..  But when you have a QB named Josh Allen.. Your team also takes risks... maybe some unnecessary.

In short.. we do not know what is on the mind of the HC/OC/QB on any given play.
