This should scare teams if we can show/prove our OL gets up to the top 15th ish in numbers.
-
Big One Tech guy, they say he has gained some more weight.. This is going to force a double team often enough to let Oliver be one on one.. And then when Von is back... Who you double team then?

Former first round picks on our defensive line
PrimeTime101 replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am saying it right now... This DL is going to over produce and go over expectations of others by the time this year is done (barring injuries) When that big body is going to be in on all this at DT? We will create matchup nightmares on any OL that is not a top 5 OL. Groot and Oliver take any kind of small step forward? oh boy -
Bolded Show me one link where he showed frustration about spending that 4th to move up?
-
Next year I think it will be WR early.. I think Center needs to be a concern next year as well. But I hate his take that we have not invested in the OL this year. Just a horrible take.

NFL.com ranks the most "complete" teams in the NFL; Bills at #6

Really good top 8 but I would give Dallas and Baltimore a (dead heat) they are close. -
Horrible Narrative that we have not put more emphasis on the offensive line this year and more money on that offensive line this year. Spotrac. Offensive line---$48,774,557 21% ish. Defensive line---$27,750,338 13% (Floyd is not in this equation yet but its not like it will change to much) If I had listened to this last year, the year before? I would have agreed So the next statement is going to be... Well more bodies on the OL this year in camp. True good point So. Lets add up top 5 in each position group and yes.. I know there are 5 OL and 4 DL but we will see how close this is. we are just doing top 5 paid. We are talking about investment not starting roles. We have better starters that are being paid less so lets concentrate on investment OL https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/positional/offensive-line/2023/full-cap/ 1-Dion Dawkins-LT-$14,854,294-6.52% 2-Mitch Morse-C-$11,360,000-4.99% 3-Ryan Bates-G-$4,875,000-2.14% 4-Connor McGovern-G-$4,000,000-1.76% 5-David Edwards-G-$1,770,000-0.78% 16.9% DL To be fair I added an extra player.. especially considering DL rotate lots. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/positional/defensive-line/2022/full-cap/ Ed Oliver-DT-$6,260,276-3% Von Miller-DE-$5,150,000-2.47% DaQuan Jones-DT-$3,583,333-1.72% Jordan Phillips-DE-$3,514,706-1.69% Tim Settle-DT-$2,675,000-1.28% 10.16 Now.. the next thing is .. (Von and Oliver contract has huge backload. It will be different next year.. True.. So just for the fun of it give them an extra 5% just to make the point. because... we are still more invested on the top 5OL. So the next thing is. Well the talent is better on the OL So.. lets match top 5 investments. (edited from talent to investments) Von vs Dawkins.. Yea.. I know.. Von Morse vs Oliver. Edge to Morse if healthy and this is close... Bates vs Jones. Dead Heat? IDK you guys are the pro's i am just a numbers guy. McGovern vs Philips. McGovern Edwards Vs Settle. Settle by a notch. Reminder.. I am just doing to the top 5 investments not starters. Investment was the word. used. Anyhow... This could go either way... It really to close to judge... You guys make the call based on numbers shown and breakdowns. Point being... Don't tell me we did not invest in the OL this year.. Horrible Take on the united front of click break heroes'

All of this makes sense. I just do not get the hate for the dude on these boards.

Hall uses speed as much as technique. or more so.. so I would agree with this. -
Bills signing OT Brandon Shell from miami

I think you are right, the word need is wrong. but I do like the idea of creating that much more competition and never know who just busts out and does well. -
Well Well Well.... Look who got his giphy back. Stylin
-
of course that is public. who knows what was said face to face lol. by him taking a "year off" just makes him look that much better not worse.
-
now they needed to put bodies on him because he is talented. IMAGINE a one tech next to him with von on one side and Floyde on the other. You cant double team von, ed, a one tech and floyd at the same time. So the point goes he needs to win the one on one battles moving forward and his production will go sky high. Thanks for recognizing it
-
guess you still miss the part that he was double teamed all game. He was basically playing the role of a 1 tech. that is what they do. take on double teams.
-
yep. People need to stick to their guns or admit defeat... I have done a little of both on this topic he was double teamed all game long.. where was the rest of the line that game. That is a question you should be asking.
-
/yep. Oliver is just average Great find! Thank You!
-
Simply put.. to much cup half empty additude.
-
I do not understand the gloom and doom of the Bills current roster situation, But everyone has the right to have an opinion so yea. it is what it is.
-
yep and at that point either way, this whole conversation will be mute. People in Olivers range will be paid more because Oliver was last to set market at his range. OR Oliver turns out to be better and less injuries. this could seriously go either way. But I look at it cup half full

DT https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/positional/defensive-tackle/2023/full-cap/ 28.04 DE https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/positional/defensive-end/2023/full-cap/ 21.65 would you like to reevaluate that answer sir?
-
Drafting is not always the solution. You say that like you know what you are getting from the draft, Drafting players at times is like rolling dice. You may roll snake eyes or you may roll box cars. This is crystal ball stuff you are saying here.

crickets
-
Wrong sir. IT is a good deal because Other players at his same Calibur are going to get paid more... making it a better deal next year. We can not have all stars at every position mate. There is a word that goes around the NFL. It is called Servable. Oliver is better than Servable.
-
I like having the conversations when it stays on topic. But what I enjoy about your work is at times, we all need to be educated right? because we can not possibly know it all. I like your work because at times... you learn a few things and change your tune.. Kind of like what I did about Oliver myself considering his playing hurt/injured. We all here to have the fun discussions and we all learn something new every day yes?
-
I have mixed the words "playing hurt" Paying injured " many times.. and to be honest. your spot on Other than opened up cap space, I do not know why we are equating this thread to Hopkins in any way. Davis plays hot/cold but we will see how this ends up
