Word out of Carolina is Steve Smith wants out
SoggyHog replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Carolina also drafted 2 QB's last year, pulled Keith Null in from STL and still have Matt Moore on the roster, I'm not sure they go with a QB. If they go with Green, that would leave Miller/Newton on our board per NGU assuming DEN goes Dareus. Pass on Newton and take Miller! Possible QB (Ponder/Dalton/Kapernick) in the 2nd and Mark Herzlich, SILB, Boston College in the 3rd. -
Potential Trade with the Pats?
SoggyHog replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Knowing the Pats, they probably found a weakness in Dareus and know a way to exploit it and are "baiting" us into taking him so they can continue to kick our A** and laugh at us every year just like they have been! A-holes! I HATE THEM! -

Just wondering when the teams can sign their draft picks. Can they have them in for rookie camp/meetings? Any OTA's? When can they sign Undrafted Free Agents? Does there have to be a new CBA before anything can be done? Sorry if this has already been posted.

Wow. Slow down Sista. Just asked a question. No reason to get your panties caught in your crack.

Exactly what I am seeing! I mean, 92! I can't imagine anyone at that age making sound decisions. Maybe some can, but no one I've met.
-
Does anyone know the condition Ralph is in lately? I take-care of my 92 year old Grandfather (WWII vet) and I have seen his health rapidly deteriorate in the last few months. I cannot imagine that Ralph is in any position to make a sound decision concerning his business if he is "close" to the shape of my Granddad. Just wondering if anyone has any updates.

She said she was eighteen! EIGHTEEN!!!!

You ever think maybe he wanted to "throw" the year to get cut and go to a team that has a chance to win on? I mean, since he's been here, he's had 4 Head Coaches (Mularkey, Jauron, Fewell, Gailey), 5 QB's (Bledsoe, Losman, Holcomb, Edwards, Fitz), 4 GM's (Dohahoe, Levy, Brandon, Nix), at least 4 OC's (one of which was on the team the year before he got drafted), a team that averages 6 years a win, an owner that publicly stated he wants ANOTHER QB, a stadium that is outdated and rundown, the weather sucks, small market, a city where more and more people leave each year, having T.O. whisper in your ear for a year and the taxes suck. ALL IN 7 YEARS! Why would you not "throw" a season to go somewhere else? Honestly, would you rather work for Disney World or Darien Lake? I mean....c'mon. GO BILLS!

Watt the Bills need is............
SoggyHog replied to SoggyHog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, that's what I have. They move back 9 spots and pick-up 2 picks THIS year and maybe one next year. IMO, no team is giving a 2nd, 3rd and 4th pick this year to move up 9 spots. That's why, typically, teams give a pick in the next years draft as well. -
J.J. Watt (6'5"-290)is a prime candidate to play the five-technique position in the 3-4 base defense. Relentless rushing the passer yet active against the run, he flashes quickness off the snap and willingness to pop and knock back blockers. He has the strength to shed blocks and bull through double teams. A high-effort tackler with long arms combined with excellent character and work ethic, he's a perfect fit for a team that loves "Lunch-pail" blue-collar types. After a STRONG combine, he has secured himself in the middle of the first round, however not worthy of a number 3 pick, there is a way to draft him in the first round and secure more picks in this years draft. Here is a scenario: Bills/Vikings trade: Vikings receive #3(Cam Newton?) Bills receive #12-#43-#105 and a 2nd/3rd in 2012 #12 - J.J Watt, DE34, Wisconsin (start from day 1, play for 10 years) #34 - Brooks Reed, OLB34, Arizona (powerful bull rush and a quality speed rush, nice one-two punch in rounds 1 and 2!) #43 - Marcus Cannon, ROT, TCU (ready to step-in to the weakest position on the team) #68 - Ben Ijalana, OG, Villanova (Wood slides to Center, nice interior line-up) #99 - Mark Herzlich, SILB, Boston College (Cancer survivor falls to this pick. See character/work ethic for Watt 2.0) #105 - Orlando Franklin, LOT, Miami(FL) (Competition for undersized Bell) #121 - DeJon Gomes, SS, Nebraska (bye bye Whitner, hello Gomes) #130 - Julius Thomas, TE, Portland St. (nice hands, big target, needs work on blocking) #164 - Chris Rucker, CB, Michigan St. (bpa, need) #195 - Anthony Gray, DT34, Southern Miss (bpa, need depth) Does not address the QB situation (franchise/depth), however other than Ponder or Mallet, I don't see a QB worthy of a pick, IMO. Thoughts.......
-
good, maybe he will fall to the 4th round and we can get him with our second pick
-
Who would you take at 38? Lot's of people aren't sold on Ponder either. Injuries are keeping some from him.
-
I LOVE Fairley-Ayers 1-2! I like Ponder in the 3rd, however, I don't think he will last. I just started a thread on a possible trade with AZ to get Ponder with the 38th. pick. Chekwa in round 4 is a MUST if he is there. Love the work you do on Draft Tek!
-
Would you be up for this scenario: Bills/Arizona trade Arizona gets 3rd overall, Bills get 5th and 38th. (value 2200 vs. 2220) #3 AZ- Newton/Gabbert #5 BUF - Von Miller OLB Texas A&M (perfect olb for hybrid D) #34 BUF - Akeem Ayers ILB UCLA (great speed rush ilb) #38 Buf- Christian Ponder QB Florida St. (all the qualities of a franchise qb, history of throwing shoulder injuries) Might be a reach for Ponder with 38th pick, but I don't think he will last until the 3rd. Great 1-2 punch on Defense and Ponder can sit a year or two behind Fitz and learn.

Does Defense really win Championships?
SoggyHog replied to SoggyHog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, I never stated that "as the reason" those teams got to/won. I simply made a comparison of those teams having HoFers or Franchise QB's on their teams. I'm sure Hall of Fame QB's have lost the Super Bowl. Even in the last 21 years (Kelly). I'm not for nor against Franchise QB's or elite defenses, I just wanted to look at the statement "Defenses win Championships" logically and break down some numbers. I do, however, think it's compelling for teams to have a Franchise QB. I think the statement should be...... "Defenses win games, Franchise QB's win Championships!" -

Jay Cutler Sam Bradford Alex Smith Shaun Hill Jason Campbell All similar numbers to Fitz and talent around him. None are Franchise QB's. Cutler should be, Bradford could be, Smith.......no way! I am a Fitz fan, but I'm afraid Ralph isn't. Is Fitz an 'elite" QB? Not now. Could he be? Hopefully but probably not. Could he lead the Bills to a Super Bowl? Sure, he has a 19% chance to do it if they stock the defense. However, get a "Franchise QB" like Ralph wants, and the chances increase dramatically! (per my OP)
