A number of years ago (during the Buddy Nix era), i contacted OBD to look into season ticket prices for their executive luxury boxes, like i'm talking the high-end suites here. Whenever i called to enquire, they put me on hold for countless hours, gave me the run-around, wasted my time, etc.......when i emailed them, they never got back to me at all, not even once, until...... When the FO finally did get back to me, their response was, "you want season tickets for our executive luxury boxes?........can we ask why?" (i'm totally serious here). So, as you know, the team hit a major rough patch for a number of years and were just God awful, so while everyone was giving up their season tickets, i guess they were in shock and awe that someone actually wanted some. I thought it kind of humorous........my wife was not impressed. Long story short, when it comes to tickets, i take care of it all myself.

End of season run, what can change for the main players?
Sweats replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would love to believe this; however, you can never count them out, no matter the situation, the roster, etc. They just find ways to win and always seem to turn it up a notch in the post season and honestly, i don't think it really matters to them if they win by 1 point or 50, every win puts them closer to a 3-peat. They are still very much dangerous. -
So, my son just passed his beautician and beauty salon schooling and is now certified in "all things beauty".........(whatever the hell that means). While he was going through his schooling, i let him practice his hair cutting techniques on me and needless to say, i ended up with a lot of really bad haircuts to say the least, but i did my part in helping him along the way. He wanted to quit a few times, but we encouraged him to continue, as now he is skilled with a credible certificate, and no one can take that away and it is always something he can lean on if he ever decides to try something else. I've always been a "barber" guy, but because he is a "beauty salon" guy, i'm starting to lean that way. Beauty salons.........love em or hate em?

This one might actually bring a tear to my eye (yes, ole Sweats DOES have a heart)....... I grew up poor.......like, i'm talking poor as poor can be and i always knew at Christmas time, my parents slugged hard to earn a little extra cash for Christmas presents for us kids. The one year when i was a kid, i got an 8-track radio/stereo. Now this is around the time where 8 tracks were being phased out as cassette tapes were flooding the market, so stores couldn't even give their 8 track players away, however, my old man got me this 8-track radio/stereo for Christmas.....and as much as i wanted to tell him that 8 tracks just weren't really a "thing" anymore, i didn't have the heart to tell him cause i know he worked hard to get me a decent present......albeit, an outdated present, but a present nonetheless. I'll never forget it.

When it's too cold for them, it's just right for us. I actually don't remember too many times where the Bills absolutely blew or imploded in December.......and i'm old, so read that as you will.
-
I wasn't there, but a bunch of us were at my buddy's place watching the game, thinking, is anyone going to make a defensive stop here?......i mean, the game couldn't possibly go back and forth with no punts?........it did and when anyone mentions the Bills top games, i bring up this one. The Shootout at Candlestick.........good times.
-
To this day, that's still one of my favorite games by the Bills and the fact that every time a runner broke free, he looked like he's rounding third at Candle stick park is priceless.

I used to watch it religiously in the 90's and early 2000's, but since they turned it into a game of flag football, i'm out.

BEST case and WORST case scenarios for Wild Card Weekend
Sweats replied to iwishitwerecolder's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love when we play the Fins......the rivalry is excellent with some good end to end action. We've seen that Tua can't play in the cold, and he has yet to win a playoff game, but at least i know when we play them every time, they bring their "A" game and that's good for the fans. The Steelers scare no one.......nothing more needs to be said here. The Bungles are hit and miss.......they always run hot and cold and this year is no different. Burrow is still having a good season, but he has very little supporting cast around him, so i would expect they are a "one and done" in the post season. The Chargers have a good young team, but i don't think this is their year (maybe next year), but they are on pace to having a lot of good years ahead of them. The Bolts don't scare me........yet. The Ravens scare the hell outta me. We match up poorly with them and Lamar looks like he has found his passing rhythm cause last night he was dropping dimes......and the King, well the dude is a steamroller and good luck to teams trying to take him out of the equation. The Colts are just plain dead.........they just don't know it and no one has told them yet. KC doesn't strike fear into teams this year like years past. They are beatable and Mahomes looks like a shell of his former self, however, they always seem to turn it on in the post season where KC just continues to rack up wins and Lombardi's. The Texans started off hot and then kind of dwindled off pace with injuries. I'm not counting them out, but i think the 2nd meeting (if it ever happens) with the Bills, we will crush soundly. Now with all this being said, i still don't think there's an AFC team that can beat the Bills. I think the only team that can beat the Bills, are the Bills themselves with penalties, sloppy play, turn overs, undisciplined play, poor game management, etc......i think the 3 big ball beaters in the AFC are the Bills, the Ravens and KC and it'll be fun to see if all 3 steamroll the rest of the AFC or if a contender shows up for the crown. Stay tuned. -
Jesus, look at the spread on that.................................................................................................(get yer mind outta the gutter, boys)
-
Agreed about Cincy, but my rule of thumb for unknown games is "home" team has the edge.........take this info as you will.
-
Eagles.......they're hot right now Tampa.......Panthers gave KC all they could handle, but the Bucs still have some life in them Chargers........this could actually be a blow out Rams........Saints aren't scaring anyone this year Steelers at Bangles.........don't know about this one. I think the Bungles just might pull it off. The Steelers aren't as good as their record says they are and i'm not buying into them (so, good luck with this one).

My old man took me to see The Black Hole at the movie theatre when i was a kid........he was really into a lot of sci-fi stuff, although i didn't see the great hype over this movie cause it really wasn't my thing at the time. Fast forward many, many years and i watched this movie again not too long ago and kicked my younger self for poo pooing this movie. It's a really good movie (yes, it is dated) but it brings a lot to the movie experience, it brings a lot to the screen, and it brings a lot to progressive thinking on longevity and an eventual realization of nothingness. I give this Disney movie two rockets straight up.
-
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang........a scary dude wandering the streets stealing kids and putting them in cages? That scene haunted me for years when i was a kid. Man, you couldn't get away with making a movie like that nowadays.

This is the time of year where Mariah Carey slowly starts creeping up from the bowels of hell and blesses us all with her nauseous good cheer. ...........away with you woman and go back down to the depths of hell where you belong!!! The power of Christ compels you!!!

Honestly, we liked the last 30 minutes of the movie, but the first 2.5 hours was just dragging on....... Part of the problem for us was our surround sound system for our tv when we're watching movies. It picked up too much background noise in the movie and we couldn't filter it out, so we heard everything going on in the background of the movie and couldn't make out any dialogue. It was very weird cause i can usually filter it all enough for most movies and this one, not so much.

I didn't know until this past weekend that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was a Disney movie and the only reason i knew that is cause after me and my wife wasted 3 hours of our life watching that garbage, i had to see who made that POS.

The Niners aren't striking fear into anyone this year........unlike years past, they are beatable and beat up. It's time for Buffalo to give them a proper beatdown and put the rest of the league on notice.
-
I'm not particularly a fan of OU, but anyone who can give Bama a proper beatdown and give them their 3rd loss of the season, is alright by me. There is no way Bama stays in the top 12 after that loss.
-
That loss last night should knock Bama out of the top 12 for sure........3 losses and 2 against unranked teams, so you can put a fork in them cause they are finished. Ole Miss out right blew it.......they had their chance and just blew it. Dart was crying after the game cause he knew he let that game slip away. Penn State beats Minny by 1, but a win is a win, i suppose, but it wasn't real assuring to say the least. Penn's play calling this season is atrocious and Franklin should politely be let go. ND just keeps winning. I don't see this team as particularly good, but they are winning A&M gets beat by an unranked Auburn.......aye carumba Colorado blew their chance.......poor, poor Prime. BYU loses a game that they should have won, but alas BYU strikes fear into no one .........there was some really good college ball played this weekend with a lot of results that most never saw coming. My wife doesn't understand how i can sit around the house every Saturday and watch every game, but college ball is my life and this past weekend ball games is what keeps me coming back.

The game reminded me of back in the Kelly era when me and my buddies would all head over to Taps (our causal watering hole) at noon every Sunday, order wings and beer and watch the game. We were laid back, relaxed and yet, excited for the 1pm games, which eventually led to us hanging around for the 4pm games. Taps had multiple tv screens on every wall (probably around 100 tv's in all) mounted everywhere and playing every sport imaginable, but the NFL was the highlight for Sundays and we capitalized on it every weekend. The KC game this past weekend just felt different. It felt like the Bills expected they would win and they had an absolutely brilliant game plan on every phase.

What's your all time favorite joke/gag from a sitcom?
Sweats replied to BillsPride12's topic in Off the Wall
I forgot about this, but when i first saw it on the Sopranos, i re-watched it over and over about 12 times. To this day, it is still one of my favorites of all time. -
......i have none of my own
