  1. Here's my way of thinking....... KC will do the same plays or variations of the same plays over and over during the course of a game and dare you to stop them. Once the team figures it out, they then start another set of plays and go over the whole same scenario. The Bills have always worked the middle of the field and kept at it until the other team caught on and took it away which would then set-up for a long ball or RB sweeps to the outside (which Cook is the best in the league in my opinion), however, against the Ravens yesterday, it's like they didn't even try. I am of the belief that you keep doing what's working and force the other team to readjust and then reach into your bag of tricks and say, "you want to defend the middle?........no problem, then how about a little sweep action to the edges or a long ball to the outside". You make the D defend the whole field, not just the middle and that's what had me screaming at the tv last night. It worked for us yesterday, but there's no guarantee that it will work again.
  2. They scored just about every time they got near the red zone...........LJ had all day to run around in the backfield looking for the open receiver and had no problem capitalizing on it either. The King bulldozed his way in for a TD in the 3rd quarter with very little effort from our D in trying to stop him........he just carried bodies into the EZ along the way. When exactly did we tighten up in the red zone?
  3. .........exactly. What i've been trying to say all thread long (and probably not real coherent about it) is that with 1:33 left on the clock, there is no guarantee what the outcome will be. As a Bills fan, it's easy to say that JA would have put on the cape and "willed" the team down to FG range to win the game, however realistically, the chances of us going 3 and out and handing the ball back to the Ravens with just under a minute left was a real possibility, as we didn't really move the ball successfully in the 2nd half.
  4. Yeah, i was thinking the same thing..........we needed to even just attempt the threat of a passing attack to open the field up and it just seemed like our game plan was to just keep trying to run (sometimes it worked, sometimes not). Almost as if to say, "So Baltimore, you've got a running game?.......well, we've got a bit of our own", which i ordinarily wouldn't argue with, however, this team is not built to go toe to toe with the opposition, we are built for chunk yardage which relies on passing, to set up the run. Very, very unusual game plan yesterday.......but it worked.
  5. Yesterday, it was like Hamlin was actually playing to be proactive and not reactive........that creates a huge difference in coverage.
  6. I'm not saying that we wouldn't have not won the game if JA had 1:33 to work with, 2 time outs and an open playbook to march down the field for a game winning FG.........how confident are you that this scenario would have happened?
  7. I watched a lot of Lamar when he was playing for Louisville and he's always been a solid act and a stand up guy.
  8. Trying to gain yards and work your way down the field for a game winning FG against a good D doesn't garner any parallels?!? Um, yeah........no.
  9. ............just like against the Texans? How'd that work out for us when the game was on the line, JA had to march down the field for a game winning FG and the suspect play calling? And you're confident that the Ravens who would not really let us get any air game going, were just going to let us prance our way down the field to win the game? I'm not so sure, but thankfully we didn't need to find out.
  10. I think the KC game is where we need to open Cooper up, like i'm talking wide open........he hasn't done a whole lot for us since being here, so who would ever see it coming?
  11. I just have flashbacks in the Texans game when we absolutely blew any chance of marching down the field with atrocious play calling.......i mean, Brady dialing up some really piss poor plays from our own endzone blew the game for us on that one. Would this Ravens game have been any different? If we didn't get a 1st down or work our way down the field at that point, we would probably have given the ball back to Baltimore and who knows what happens after that in the outcome.
  12. So, Larry (our office Ravens fan) actually brought up a good point this morning....... Even if Andrews caught the 2-point conversion and tied the game, there was still 1:33 on the clock, which he believed the Bills would have had plenty of time to go down the field and score a FG to win the game anyways. I don't know, man........we weren't having a lot of success in large plays all game long, so the chances of the Ravens suddenly just allowing us to march down the field seems suspect. Thoughts?!?
  13. He's the reason they almost made the perfect comeback and only coming within a 2 point conversion for the tie.
  14. Boooooooo.........boo this man. Haven't you heard?!?........McD is on the hot seat, can't win the big one, has piss poor game management, doesn't know how a clock is used, etc. Yeah, color me confused.
  15. ...........only reason he didn't is cause his arms got wrapped up by the defender. Watch it again and tell me that he wouldn't have tried it if his arms were free. It's actually disturbing.
  16. I agree. We had the chance to put the game away in the 3rd right after halftime and we let the Ravens hang around. The biggest thing i saw was that even though the Ravens had 3 TO's, they were within a 2-point conversion of tying it up in the 4th. We should have been leading by at least 2 scores by then and at the point of just running the ball to chew up clock. We've got some things to clean up before the KC game cause they rarely turn the ball over. It'll be interesting.
  17. That's true, however, from what i've seen all season is that Cook is the guy you want bouncing outside while Davis should be our straight-ahead downfield runner, so why in the world we're trying to run Cook up the gut on these play calls is friggin astounding. Yes, it works sometimes, however, the majority of the times, Cook is getting his yards on the edge and Davis chews up the middle yardage and if i've noticed it, chances are that NFL teams are watching it and making adjustments to suit. .........and Ty, well that dude is just a freak who can just about be put anywhere.
  18. I want to win this one today so we can get that KC monkey off our backs
  19. Whatever happens today, i am a 4 SB loss survivor, so win or lose, i'll be alright.
  20. I had to turn the game off 20 minutes into it.........it was just making me sick.
  21. KC holding at the LOS and no calls.............jesus christ
  22. .............the backdoor?
  23. I actually even forgot it was my birthday this weekend (yes, that's how much this game is screwing me up) however, it looks like my favorite pizza is in order for this grand event (the game, not my birthday cause honestly, like who gives a **** about that when the Bills are going to throttle the Ravens).
  24. When you look at the whole body of work between the two QB's over the past 7 years, it doesn't matter who wins, the loser will look like the QB who just can't get it done. True story right there.
  25. I actually do agree with the partial strategy of owning the TOP............milk the clock, methodically move the O down the field and give our D enough time to rest. With a little extra rest time for the D, i'm hoping they play a little tougher and with a little more energy especially in the 4th quarter where a well rested D can make or break outcomes.
