  1. Actually this is great. Basically it is between us and the Jets for Foles!
  2. i year 6 mill with 5 mill guaranteed - overpaid a little, but maybe ok for the intangibles he brings
  3. with the lotuleilei signing, need a Luke Kuechly type behind him. Think Rashaan Evans or Roquan Smith in the draft.
  4. Here is an oldie on Bills signing Lotuleilei. Time will tell. http://billswire.usatoday.com/2018/02/22/nfl-free-agency-buffalo-bills-star-lotulelei-panthers-draft/ I am more optimistic about Star. Star did have a different DC than McD last year.
  5. Oh man .. my careless post deserved that. It should read If it gets to be more than 60 mill, I dont LIKE IT.
  6. a little sad it is not the jets but Minny was my prediction a long while ago. just made too much sense.
  7. maybe later in the season, he has a change of heart, Bills can sign him. Always liked him in a bills uni.
  8. What is the deal? Am yet to see the numbers. I can live with 5 years and about 50 mill with about half guaranteed. If it gets to be more than 60 mill, I dont want him.
  9. I dont think that is a bad strategy .. but we do have nice cap room in 2019 - so I dont mind having him play 2019 on a franchise tag. Are there any other franchise candidates we have that make it unlikely we use it on Benjamin?
  10. Clearly the WR FA market is overheated with the absurd deals for Robinson and Watkins. I am wondering what is happening on the Deonte Thompson front. Why havent we signed him yet? The guy bailed us out and was a difference maker in at least 2 wins last season. Not to mention his great play in the loss to the Pats.
  11. Thanks Yolo. These signings give us good depth and are familiar with what McD wants.
  12. there was a thread saying Chark may be a second rounder, no? Ridley, I agree will definitely go round 1. So Ridley is an option only if we swing a trade for Foles and do not move up. why sign him long term now. Dodgy knees and all that - pls wait to re-up him.
  13. I wouldnt mind Foles + Allen with a "Not Top 7" pick. I am intrigued by him but do not want to "waste" a top 2 or top 3 pick on him. He is far from a sure shot.
  14. DJ Chark, Calvin Ridley or James Washington - prepare to don a Bills uniform!
  15. These ERFAs are going to be most crucial for the Bills, especially O'Leary and Yarbrough! BTW, do these count towards the comp picks formula?
  16. Obviously the majority think the trade with the Rams worked out well since Sammy is not worth 16 mill per year. I think so too. Notwithstanding that I think McBeane are good (as borne out by McD's Hyde and Poyer signing, the Cordy trade, Tyrod trade etc.) , it is also time to point out that they were wrong in not picking up Sammy's option. What would you rather have? Sammy at 11 mill or a late second rounder (from Rams)?
  17. 2014 was the exception where the top 2 did not pan out but 3 4 and 5 worked out ok
  18. KInda subjective I admit - beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that! My bad - I added some opinions to the title.
  19. We are desperate for a QB saviour. Do we sign a veteran or trade up is the key question in most Bills fans ' minds. Here are the details for the past 10 years (@009 - 2017) regarding QBs drafted in the first 2 rounds: 2009 Stafford 1 Yes Sanchez 5 No Freeman 17 No White 44 No 2010 Bradford 1 Yes? Tebow 25 No Clausen 48 No 2011 Newton 1 Yes Locker 8 No Gabbert 10 No Ponder 12 No Dalton 35 Yes Kaepernick 36 No 2012 Luck 1 Yes RG3 2 No Tannehill 8 No Weeden 22 No Osweiler 57 No 2013 EJ Manuel 16 No Smith 39 No 2014 Bortles 3 No Manziel 22 No Bridgewater 32 No? Carr 36 Yes Garoppolo62 62 Yes 2015 Winston 1 Yes Mariota 2 Yes 2016 Goff 1 Yes? Wentz 2 Yes Lynch 26 No Hackenberg 51 No 2017 Trubisky 2 No? Mahomes 10 Yes Watson 12 Yes Kizer 52 No The first column gives the year, second the pick, third the pick number and the fourth my opinion whether the pick was worthj it or not. ? implies jury is still out with Yes? closer to yes and No? closer to No. Obviously these ? cases are primarily from recent years. These are subjective classifications and I know we can quibble about a couple of them, but I dont think they change the overall stats much. There are 10 yes, 3 Yes?, 2 No? and 20 No. That means there are way more busts than decent picks in the first 2 rounds. What about just the first round? They are only marginally better with 7 yes, 3 Yes?, 1 No? and 12 No. That also tells you how bad second round QB picks do - 3 yes, 0 Yes?, 1 No? and 8 No. What about top 10 picks? They get a bit better (about 50% hit rate) with 6 yes, 3 Yes?, 1 No? and 6 No. That also tells us non top 10 first rounders 1 -0-0-6! What about top 5? They get a bit better (about 50% hit rate) with 6 yes, 2 Yes?, 1 No? and 2 No. That also tells us non top 5 Top 10s 0 -1-0-4! Bottomline - If you want to move up - move to top 2 and draft. Dont muck round and land with the 3rd or 4th best QB!!!
  20. Philly has to knock off 9 mill from its cap before 4 pm ET March 14. Can they get there without trading Foles? After losing out in the Tyrod Taylor sweepstakes (felt good saying that), looks like it might come down to the Cardinals as the Bills, main competition. Dark Horse is the Colts who might move down from no. 3 and use part of the returns to reunite Frank Reich with the SB MVP. bottomline: I'd offer good odds on a trade for Foles happening the afternoon of March 14.
  21. Definitely trading for Foles now!!
  22. pick #65 is just fantastic!! Nearly as good as a late second rounder! And here I was thinking mid 4th is the best we can hope for! Beane!!
  23. Isnt this tampering? They should take one of Tampa's late draft picks and give em to the Bills:)
  24. Who would you rather have on the bills? Murray or Ivory? personally I would have been happier with Murray but am rooting for Ivory now.
