Yes the Pats draft sucked (making me happy) but they did make out like bandits with these four offseason trades - The first rounder for Brandin Cooks Danny Shelton for a third (2019) for fifth (2018) swap Cordarelle Patterson for a 5th 6th rounder swap Trenton Brown for a third for fifth swap even though they did not pick up Shelton's 5th year option (it was 7.1 million), looks like they got a steal.

While this argument is, on paper, sound - you are replacing a Ravens victory over the Browns with a Ravens victory over someone else. I think the post you are responding to says Ravens would not even have been at 9-7 if the Browns had beaten them once.

We just watched them. I do think their defense has a chance to be elite with Garrett and the linebackers - but they have Tyrod and look what we did to him after that first touchdown drive. Also, they still have Hue Jackson. One way I could reconcile it is that the rest of the division is expected to be real ****ty (we play one game against the division - Ravens week 1). The only other way is Hue is fired early and Tyrod demoted.

Didnt really appear to blame Landry. Lorax was more concerned about the double standards between offense and defense - saying this kinda hit would get a defensive player penalized. They talked a bit about Josh Allen and Lorax just repeated what he said earlier - that he has a lot of respect for Allen They talked about him being an UDFA and this being his 14th year and Lorax called it unbelievable. Finally talked about Buffalo - and Lorax said the city is like him - struggling to do well. Also said he didnt want to come here initially because of the cold - but has grown to love it thanks to the fans.

If Peterman and / or McCarron are somewhat successful, it will only increase their trade value. But, at this point, IMHO, Allen is THE future!! I want him to win the long term QB battle. But OP, you are right in that it is not important who wins the QB battle to be day 1 starter.

Von MIller called Trent Brown (former 7th round pick in 2015 draft) the best right tackle in the NFL after SF-Denver joint practices

I too am hopeful about the WR unit if for no other reason than they have had to go against White, Davis, Hyde and Poyer all thru training camp - trial by fire and all that!

The stats you cite are compelling. But - you are extrapolating Josh Allen's college stats (at a nondescript football program) to stats at NFL level for the others. Can you guess the quarterback from the Ohio Valley Conference, who posted senior season statistics of completing 92 of 173 passes for 53.2% and had six TD passes, 11 INTs, and 1,229 yards. His career school record was 409 completions in 835 attempts for 48.9%! He also totalled 32 TDs, 45 INTs, and 5,545 yards. He was picked in the first round of the draft to the surprise of many (with many team fans booing the pick) and went on to become the career leader in completion percentage in a Super Bowl game? He managed to up his NFL career completion percentage by nearly 7%!
