  1. After the Sam Bradford trade, where they made out like bandits - Philly appears to be overvaluing its QBs. If they tag him, no team is going to pay him 20 mill AND give up draft compensation - so Phill is going to be stuck in cap hell. IMO, very dangerous move. Coming off a SB victory and signed for cheap, no team was willing to give up a first last year. A year older and arguable worse post-season performance later, I doubt a team will give up a 2nd and pay 20 mill per. I doubt it will come to the Tag because Foles is not going to buy out his contract for 2 mill since he will not get a 20 mill per year deal if teams are wary of the tag. 20 mill for 1 year is different from 20 mill per year new deal. Makes a world of difference for whether a team will give up draft compensation. Edit: sry my bad. he will definitely sign the tag if offered since the tag number is higher than the buyout + 20 mill.BUt still, it is a dangerous move for philly if no team is willing to negotiate with them.
  2. I do expect Da Bills to sign Davis at some point. Fit is too perfect for it not to happen. That said, it is not a priority right now. Let us focus on the linemen (O and D) and WR and TE positions first. Let us see first how many dollars it takes to get those filled before getting to LBs.
  3. Oh I agree. But also Reiterating OP’s point that the play calling there was wrong.
  4. Hmm what about last years super bowl? Did Brady lose it or was it Belichik? FYI Brady had one of his best days ever. bottomline one can make either argument.
  5. huh? just the opposite my friend. But would not have had any timeouts left, which were a factor on that last drive.
  6. With slim FA pickings and several teams in need of WRs, he will be overpaid - but nowhere close to Sammy Watkins money. Maybe 9-10 mill per year. Now shd we have him at that price? I cant decide. If we get him at for less than 8 mill per year, that will be Ok I guess. More than 10 mill per year - I will pass.
  7. Methinks Ziggy Ansah may be cheaper and will probably have a bigger impact than Clowney.
  8. Umm no. Trumaine Johnson had two interceptions. Jamal Adams did recover an Allen fumble though - but that is not the same as catching passes from Allen:)
  9. I think it was more like "We didnt prep much for Barkley", no? Maybe I missed some other Adams comments. I do know he said he hated the Bills - but did he say something bad about QBJA after the week 12 win?
  10. While CB JA did troll QB JA on twitter immediately after the 2018 draft, looks like he has changed his mind since.
  11. nice article. no doubt Belichik has been the ultimate contrarian. that said having a hall of fame QB who can get you a 5-7 yards on demand will always make you look good. I dont think we will ever have an answer to the Was it Brady? or Was it Belichik? debate.
  12. https://draftwire.usatoday.com/gallery/2019-nfl-mock-draft-trades-3-rounds-updated-dwayne-haskins-kyler-murray-nick-bosa-senior-bowl/ Includes Bills trading back. Has us taking 2 OL - Little and Jenkins and 2 Wideouts - Butler and Brown Can quibble about the actual players a bit but kinda like the 4 surefire starter haul. Personally, based on knowledge acquired so far (still limited), I'd go with Jawaan Taylor or Cody Ford over Little and Deebo Samuel over those wideouts, but I can be convinced otherwise.
  13. If it is just the cold, why dont these reporters ask the same questions regarding Green Bay?
  14. Umm. I think you are right - i thought 13 mill was guaranteed, but apparently it is not. My bad folks. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/tampa-bay-buccaneers/gerald-mccoy-6512/ So if they can just cut him - clearly they wont give up compensation. But I will pass on 13 million for a 1 year rental. That said, he may be available (since TB will cut him) at a reduced rate - maybe we should consider signing him to a Kyle Williams like contract.
  15. https://www.bucsnation.com/2019/1/25/18196698/the-trial-of-gerald-mccoy-buccaneers TB fans debating the pros and cons of keeping Gerald McCoy.
  16. This (lack of TE talent in the 2019 draft) is contrary to what I have read so far (dont know enough to comment). See for example: https://thedraftnetwork.com/2018/10/09/the-2019-nfl-draft-te-class-is-proving-its-deep-with-talent/
  17. Of course the price will be market determined. So if there is major demand for his services, we should just pass. Consistent with your post, I dont want the Bills to spend 13 mill for a 1-year rental on an ageing DT when we are more than one piece away. And you are right that he would be a good fit in a Steve Wilks defense for the Browns. While I may be wrong, I think you are overestimating the market for an ageing scheme specific DT (his past exploits do not have a bearing). And as I said, if it is a hot market for him - then the Bills should just pass on him.
  18. If possible, I would like to retain Clay unless it is a trade that brings us something else. This is a contract year for him and I expect him to up his game quite a bit.
  19. He is the prototypical 4-3 DT and will be a good fit for the Bills. TB cant wait to get rid of him since he is a misfit in a 3-4 alongside Vita Vea. So I would like TB to sweeten the pot by offering us a 3rd rounder for us to take him on and relieve them of 13 million cap drain. They are severely cap constrained. Will be like the Osweiler trade to the Browns.
  20. No question he can help us. But at what price? He is not worth perennial pro bowl money but would be a steal at 10 mill per year. He is an elite 4-3 End when healthy. Last year Detroit did a Rex Ryan switch on him from 4-3 to "multiple" and that did mess him up some. So he will be a better fit in our 4-3. In summary, he is a huge talent and is a perfect fit for our defense. But there are some health concerns.
  21. OP - This might help at least w.r.t fibular fractures https://www.verywellhealth.com/fibula-fractures-2549440
  22. Let us hope so. Risner also had problems against another long armed DL - I forget who that was but it will come to me.
  23. Based on game tape of Montez Sweat (he of 35 inch arms fame) vs. Risner, I am not so sold on Risner (though I love his attitude). If we like Risner so much, we should be even higher on Sweat. That said, I do like Risner as our third round pick.
  24. nice effort. my two bits: Daniel Jones (QB) will go in the top 14. Rashaan Gary will also go in the top 14. While I like Risner, I think #14 is too high for him. I would rather have Jawaan Taylor or Cody Ford at #14. Jacksonville is already in cap hell. How do they afford Foles? In other words, they have to make some moves, restructure things etc. before even thinking about getting Foles. Notwithstanding the above, I do agree we will trade down albeit because of a team wanting a QB, not DL - there are just so many good ones (DL) in this draft.
  25. Hey hey let us get creative. What about Bortles, Fournette and 2nd for Charles Clay and Lesean McCoy? Yes we take on about 22 mill in salary but save 10 mill so net is 12 mill for a high second rounder and Fournette. and then waive Bortles before the season. Don't want him beyond preseason.
