  1. He was quite horrible against Baltimore and LAC - but was very disruptive then all the way to the Houston game before he had that knee injury.
  2. It is usually better not to announce who you are picking (or not picking) to have a better chance of someone trading with you. Otherwise they will trade with the next guy. Now if someone wants Murray or Lock or Haskins or Jones, they don’t have to worry about #1.
  3. He sucked early on but appeared to find a groove as the season warmed up. I am cautiously hopeful he will give us 8 sacks this year because of Hughes and the stud we are going to draft.?
  4. Cant figure out if he is penciled in as a low priced starter or high priced backup. How much is guaranteed? If a significant chunk of the 13 mill is guaranteed, you are looking at a low priced starter. If not, he is a short term backup, who can potentially prove he is worth keeping.
  5. Video is more Darnold-centric and I am perfectly happy with that. No problem here with Allen hanging out with Darnold. Just hope he does not get into "stupid" kinda trouble with these off-season "fun" things. He does not appear to be that kind of person anyways.
  6. We did? edit: Ah you provided a link too later in the thread. You are the best! But, if true, they would be in even better shape if they had accepted the Jets offer.
  7. If we had picked up his option, we coulda had him for a year at even less money:)
  8. Wish List: 1. Paradis or Morse 2. Daryl Williams or Trent Brown 3. Golden Tate or Robby Anderson (Jets are willing to go up to 12 mill a year - so we should probably have to go 14 mill a year) 4. Brandon Graham or Ziggy Ansah (Clowney and Lawrence will be too expensive I think - but I would pick em over these two if the price is right) 5. Thomas Davis
  9. Thanks for this thread: Here is a wish list I made a week ago - Plan 1.0 Soothe things over with Poyer and trade for Antonio Brown Plan 1.1 Trade for Julio Jones Plan 2.0 (if not 1.0 or 1.1) Trade for DeSean Jackson Plan 3.0 Trade for Leonard Fournette / Trade McCoy to the Eagles for Jason Peters Plan 4.0 Trade for Malik Jackson
  10. Still feel Son of Bum (Wade Phillips) should have coached here longer - liked him a lot.
  11. 1. Trade down to have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds 2. plug and play 2 O-Linemen, 1 WR/TE, I DLineman YOLO - While I like that you created separate threads for FA and Draft, to an extent, despite a BPA philosophy, the draft depends on what happens in FA
  12. Actually I am confident he will explore trading back till the last minute. He is on record as saying something like “This year we have a top 10 pick and we don’t need it since we are set at QB.”
  13. i'm sry but Polian is too far removed from reality for me to take him seriously (though I agree we are in a good place with our coach / GM). C'mon we had this last year: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/bill-polian-calls-nick-foles-an-icon-says-eagles-should-demand-absurd-asking-price/
  14. If we need to save, we can do a lot more by saying adieu to McCoy and Clay:)
  15. Even Hue would have beaten the Jets at least once in 2 years:)
  16. That's a thought. Maybe we can rework some of their contracts by front loading them for this year and locking em up long term.
  17. Fair enough. Although, we can carry forward the unused portion to the next year. I'm all-in for building the line.
  18. With all due respect, a lot of the tear down happened during and after the season with the Dareus, Ragland, Glenn & Taylor trades. And EJ Gaines from the Rams trade did contribute handsomely during the season - so I wouldnt call Watkins part of a fire sale. And Matthews and Benjamin were, on paper, expected to be productive - the plan for MIami 2019 would be a lot different than Bills 2017.
  19. This year, in the draft, the OT class is superb. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/nfl-draft-2019-offensive-tackle-class-headlined-by-jonah-williams-looks-like-best-in-a-decade/ Edit: for a more recent article on this years' OT class, see https://thedraftnetwork.com/2019/01/31/offensive-tackle-class-shaping-up-to-be-great/ There is a good chance Jawaan Taylor may be available at #9 (genuine top 5 talent). You also have Little, Ford (my favorite) and Jonah Williams with first round talent - at least two of whom will fall to round 2. And I did not even include Risner. Mind you, I am not saying Daryl Williams is not good. On the contrary - I would love to have him. Just that, options cheaper than 10 mill per exist. By all means, overpay a bit for Paradis or Morse - not many centers available.
  20. Is "inconsistency" correctable? Most likely not. Also, he is not versatile enough to play multiple positions to be a backup.
  21. That is stiffer than I imagined. Maybe 6-7 mill per year.
  22. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/25953879/jets-adam-gase-includes-ex-adversaries-joe-vitt-gregg-williams-staff Joe Vitt & Gregg Williams. Nitroglycerine! No wonder Gase's eyes were doing strange things at his press conference. We will face em twice. Small part of me wants this all to implode.
  23. If Simmons is not a first round pick, I am in favor of moving up to #33 to take him. Genuine top 10 talent. From all accounts the young man has been a model citizen post-incident. If there is no redemption for him, smh.
  24. Wonder why there is a delay. This should have been done a while ago. We do need him. I hope they add some disincentives for unsportsmanlike penalties. I like it that he plays on edge and gives it his all - but there were some bonehead plays like in the Miami game.
