  1. They did win 5 of 7 to close last season. They still have last year's offensive identity (with the OC becoming the HC). They have added OBJ to the offense and traded for Vernon and signed Sheldon Richardson (which is underrated given th ehoopla over OBJ) to the Defense. And they have Kareem Hunt waiting in the wings. They are loaded at every damn position. Every other team in their division took a step backward. What is not to like? There are only 2 question marks - What happens to team chemistry? How much does losing DC Gregg Williams for Steve WIlks hurt the defense?
  2. Of course. My bad. I always discount anything Harvard.
  3. Why not? Sometimes things click after sitting back and studying the game (happened to Allen last year). Actually, I felt that he had promise. His 2006 season second half was very decent and then the 2007 season was derailed by a dirty hit by Vince Wilfork. He kinda lost his starting job to Edwards because of injury. Even when he spelled Captain Checkdown Edwards, he was quite decent. He may have been the last Bills QB to throw for 300 yards in multiple games.
  4. John Dorsey could do what he did because his predecessor left him a treasure chest of draft picks to play with. The Browns are just cashing in with their accumulated draft capital. They have had 13 first rounders in the last 7 drafts. In the past 20 years, they have had 4 #1 overall and 4 #3 overall. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Cleveland_Browns_first-round_draft_picks In contrast, Da Bills have had 7 first rounders in 7 years with 2 #4s and one #3 in the past 20 years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Buffalo_Bills_first-round_draft_picks
  5. Winning 7-8 games every year is way worse. Bills fans know this better than most. You dont have a high enough draft pick to be excited about and you dont get to play the post-season. Forever treading water stuck in limbo.
  6. I wonder what the overall team receiving stats were for the SB champs. I am sure they were all in the top 5 or 10 in the league. Only team that doesnt fit the bill of the top of my mind is the 2000 Ravens - they had Shannon Sharpe with 800 yards and must surely been in the bottom 10 in the league in passing stats. In other words, what I am trying to say is - while you dont need a #1, you do need a set of productive WRs. I feel Foster, Zay, Brown, Beasley, Duke and a receiving TE from the draft can do that.
  7. #9 may be a bit of a reach for him - but I would love to have him if we traded down.
  8. Hasnt started yet. You can see the link at the bottom that says Up Next - and the press conference is still listed there. must be running late - but I wonder why - since we didnt get Antonio Brown things shd start on time.
  9. He is slated to visit NOLA too - so the offer will have to be damn good for him to pass. FWIW, we do have way more cap space than the Saints.
  10. These days it is so much easier to follow American Football internationally. Past two years, I have managed to not miss anything despite traveling multiple times to Singapore, Hong Kong, China and India. Time difference helps since no one cares about American Football- they are all fast asleep. TBD updates helped too (esp. from YOLO and 26) - they kept me fully updated.
  11. Likely link for press conf. https://www.buffalobills.com/video/bills-live
  12. These two veterans may be the littlest guys on the field - but boy do they play tall? Also they bring completely different things to the field and will actually complement each other. One will stretch the filed so the other can operate underneath. First Cole Beasley. You always want to get a guy in FA who was undervalued and under utilized. Cole "Mr. Sure Hands: Beasley is the epitome of undervalued and underutilized. Additionally he is going to be among the most valuable Bills in moving the chains - He is even better than Edelman. see Dallas' wins added chart in 2018 Here is what the Dallas guys are saying about losing him - also says Dallas was offering Beasley 18 mill over 3 years vs. Bills 29 over 4. https://thelandryhat.com/2019/03/13/cole-beasley-bad-hit-dallas-cowboys/ I like it that the guy is a little on the cocky side - only things he drops are rap albums titled the Autobiography https://www.foxsports.com/watch/undisputed/video/1430527555619 (Be patient in watching this video - the good stuff is after the 1:40 mark). Finally I liked it that he was so hard on himself after dropping a surefire touchdown pass (very very rare for him) but bounced back to get Dallas the win on the final drive. https://www.star-telegram.com/sports/nfl/dallas-cowboys/article221884935.html Finally, a statistic that will surely help Allen silence his critics - In 2016 - Beasley caught 75 passes for 833 yards and five touchdowns on 98 targets. His 76.5% catch rate ranked second among all NFL wide receivers in 2016. Now coming to John Brown - I like him for entirely different reasons - he is in no way Mr. Sure Hands - he dropped 6 balls to the 42 he caught last year on 97 targets (43% catch rate). That is skewed for two reasons - he is targeted more downfield so throw accuracy will be lower. Based on Advanced stats, the catchable rate on passes thrown his way was only 60% (59/97). https://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/john-brown/ compare that to Cole Beasley's 81% https://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/cole-beasley/ But playing 7 games with Lamar skew the stats downward for Brown (a reason Ravens did not want him back). if one just looks at stats with Flacco - he caught 34 off 67 targets for 601 yards (over 50% catch rate). Through the first 8 weeks (prior to Flacco injury), John Brown had 83 fantasy points (reflects yards and scores). He was 15th among WRs very comparable to Stefan Diggs and Michael Thomas and ahead of Julio Jones, Cooper Kupp, Ju-Ju and Sammy Watkins. Sammy makes 16 mill a year - this guy will make 9 mill a year folks. https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/reports/leaders/wr.php?year=2018&start=1&end=8 But more than stats, you know the guy will always do well on the field. He has an inner drive that fuels him like no one else. He will be our secret weapon. If this story doesnt move you, nothing will. https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en-us/articles/john-brown-nfl-secret-weapon
  13. TSW Rating Points - brand new crypto currency!! Lets do an ICO!!
  14. My boy Allen is 6' 5". Clearly some folks on this forum are like Matt Paradis - they suffer from a "small person" syndrome.?
  15. The logic is flawed. Why would we ever want a team in our own division to get better? The weaker they are the easier it is to get two wins no? Regardless of what the patriots do.
  16. QB and ÖL need to be connected. I like the sentiments expressed towards JA. Similarly QB needs to be on same page as WRs. Like it that Zay, Foster, McKenzie and McCloud are going to be working out in California. Having an undisputed franchise QB helps.
  17. Actually this depends on the OL and QB also. Brady / Brees get rid of the ball so quickly and spread it around - so they do not need a #1 WR (or even a superlative great OLine). But if you have an Oline that can give a QB time in the pocket, a #1 WR is invaluable. Because, by definition #1 WRs have everything - speed, separation, catch radius and elevation - given time they will get open and provide a target for the waiting QB. We have a QB who could buy time with his scrambling even if the Oline was bad. So I think he will benefit for having a #1 WR like Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, Michael Thomas, OBJ or DeAndre Hopkins. funny - Brees doesnt need a #1 but still has one in Michael Thomas. Somewhat like Randy Moss that one year with Brady. The above description does not mean Allen wont do well with a WR by committee. With Foster and John Brown extending the field and Beasley and Zay underneath, opposing defenses have to pick their poison and with experience, he will be able to pick em apart.
  18. It is noteworthy that, besides talking about Josh's work, Jordan Palmer (with no major axe to grind) endorses Allen's fit with John Brown specifically as well as Beane's overall moves. He also talks well about the QB room, Dorsey and Daboll. This mutual respect carries forward into practice and the games.
  19. Clearly he did not convince the Bills' medical staff that he deserved a longer term deal. Makes the Nysekhe signing look so much better. All in all, Beane has hit pretty well this off-season. Now just hoping Mich Morse stays healthy.
  20. Sorry Yolo. Didnt mean to sh*t on your post. Just that Beane already talked (during his combine press conference) about Foster being at the Bills facility a lot (see link below). see clarification above. That said, him working out with Allen is the news I was waiting for.
  21. In order: 1. Ziggy Ansah 2. Daryl Williams 3. Nick Easton 4. Jadeveon Clowney
  22. I like it that he is not going to the Fins, as was rumored. Now the Fins, Broncos and Redskins are all likely to take a QB (in addition to the Cards and the Giants). That means good opportunities for a trade down.
  23. Loud farts dont stink. It is the silent ones that do:) https://www.quora.com/Why-is-it-that-loud-farts-dont-smell-bad-or-dont-smell-at-all-while-the-most-smelly-ones-are-almost-never-audible
  24. Working out at the facility is not really news. At the combine, Beane already raved about Foster's commitment and mentioned that he was working out at the team facility. But I like the fact that he is going to be working out with Josh Allen next. Was hoping Allen would come to the team facility also , but this is the next best thing.
