This is just not feasible. The Deadcap hit on the Lions of 49 million would have been 22.5 million more than his cap hit of 26.5 million. And Detroit barely had cap space last year. Likely Fake News.

Didnt Beane actually say that AB's compensation demands were too high? It is possible Rosenhaus is not telling AB the truth here. He wants the client happy - so he tells him he did not give the Bills a number rather than Bills said it was too much. A part of me wants Beane to come back and put Rosenhaus in his place. Another part of just goes, "meh - who cares now".

I have conflicting emotions. The Minny game last year (Allen hurdle game) showed the best and worst of Ivory. He had 20 or so rushing attempts and gave us barely 50 yards. But he was good as a receiving back out of the backfield (3 catches for a bunch of yards). We cant blame Shady's abysmal 2018 on the shoddy O-Line and not give Ivory the same benefit. That said, Gore does have skills and running style similar to Ivory - so releasing Ivory does kinda make sense.

Matt Birk plays a less high profile position that QB, but one can argue was a more successful football player - 6 time Pro Bowler and two time All-Pro James Blake also probably ranks up there (highest ATP rank - #4) Fitzy is very smart, and did excite the Bills fanbase for 7 games, but his football prowess for the Bills is not much to write home about. While they dont say so publicly (a la Jamal Adams) our D-Backs will be rubbing their hands in anticipation of some throws from Fitzy coming their way)

I agree that there can be a run on QBs early. I dont think 4 will go in the top 8 though. That means trade down opportunities for us with teams wanting to get ahead of Denver.

Pretty happy so far but not yet done. Wish list (with possibilities in parentheses) A Guard (Easton), defensive end (Ansah), DT (Suh, Philon, Gunter!!!), TE (Cook), LB (Burflict), RB (Ty Montgomery), Special Teamers.

Sorry to be in the minority. I would like us to get him. We do need an upgrade at OLB depth and Lorax is not gonna be around forever. And Burflict probably can be had at a reasonable price. Maybe a 2 yr deal at 3-4 mill per year. He'd a steal at a third of Barr / Mosley money.

This is different from prior offseason optimisms. Two seasons ago we lost the off season by trading down and post preseason trading away Watkins and Darby. And yet we made the playoffs. The deadweight deadcap overhang and rookie QB thrust into the lineup with a shoddy ÖL and a non bowl college level receiving corps still led to a surprisingly decent 6-10 record. Now we have a team reloaded with veterans and combined with homegrown talent with very few bad contracts, all draft assets intact and a good coach. Can't wait for the draft and then September.

nicely put. I dont think the difference in AAV (average annual value) was significant. The two key differences were: a. guaranteed money. Bills guaranteed more and earlier and b. Josh Allen + Bills Mafia.

Kroft is already an elite blocking TE. Hock's uniqueness lies in being great at blocking. To avoid redundancy, I suggest going after a Jared Cook in FA or trade down and take Irv Smith or Noah Fant in the Draft.

Everyone knows about the Bills Mafia. Also, Morse specifically came here because of Josh Allen. So, I'd say Yes.

Why poor Browns? They got a freebie. They still get him for 8-12 games. If anything, it is poor Chiefs. I so wish Beane had put in a waiver claim on Hunt last year.
