  1. Those TE spots sure gonna hv competition.
  2. I too am not worried so much about the offense. Need more on Defense. Still missing an elite pass rusher to complement JH as well as LB depth. And Tre White did not gave as stellar a campaign in 2018 as in 2017. May hv been since he did not have EJG on the other side, which we have now fixed.
  3. Not at all mate. It does say “projected”, no?
  4. I agree that Quinnen 2019 is better than Leonard 2019 though Leonard 2015 was hyped more than Q 2019. That said, the correct comparison to analyze the decision shd not be Leonard vs Quinnen. It shd be Leonard + Quinnen vs. Leonard + Allen. Hopefully Ed Oliver and Cody Ford will be the exceptions then?
  5. This is a good rationalization. I like Polite as well. But do you pick at #3 hoping Polite falls to you at 68? So many teams coulda taken Polite. i think Maccagbsn just felt Quinnen Williams was so much better than Josh Allen that he could ignore need and go bpa.
  6. Puzzled by this comment (Sry). Isnt that the author's point? Why let history repeat itself with the Q. Williams pick? That leads to too many DTs and no real good EDGE which leads to an unbalanced DL. Especially when the opportunity cost was a blue chip EDGE in Josh Allen.
  7. Hoping it all works out for him (except when facing the Bills). Worried about his mental state.
  8. There is a debate about BPA vs. need even at the very top of the draft. That is why teams routinely trade up when they have needs at QB even if the BPA is a non-QB. As Bills fans, we have the luxury of watching the Jets twice a year and more importantly studying the Jets tape prior to the meetings. I was very confident that the Jets will take Josh Allen rather than Q, WIlliams. This is notwithstanding the fact that I feel Q. WIlliams is a genuine top 5 talent. That being said, the presence of Leonard WIlliams (hose hype before the 2015 Draft was even more than Q. WIlliams in 2019), whose option had just been picked up, makes the Q. Williams pick up very questionable, at least in my mind. Here are 2 articles that discuss the same concerns: https://elitesportsny.com/2019/05/04/new-york-jets-quinnen-williams-must-achieve-all-pro-status-to-justify-selection/ The above article talks about history repeating itself with Mikey Mac taking BPA (L. WIlliams) in 2015 when he already had Mo and Sheldon Richardon and teh disastrous consequences that followed. https://www.sny.tv/jets/news/nfl-talent-evaluators-raise-concerns-with-some-jets-draft-picks/306813068 Do we think Gregg Williams will be some kind of magician who can make EDGEs out of Q. WIlliams or Leonard Williams? And even if he can, why go for the converted EDGE when there was a readymade blue chip EDGE (Josh Allen) sitting there? Now getting to the speculation part - I wonder if there is tension already brewing between the coaching staff and the front office for the Jets. We saw several soundbites of McD around the draft. He was a presence in the War Room and also accessible to the media. In contrast, Adam Gase has been nowhere to be seen. I think every one of the other coaches has been at press conferences or opined on the draft picks. What is happening there? Is it because the coaching staff preferred Josh Allen and Mike Mac went Q. Williams?
  9. Yours is clearly a more balanced position. Guess I was trying to find as many excuses for him as possible.? That said I still am excited to see what he does and feel that he has chances to be our #1. Maybe it is my unending optimism talking.
  10. He is on record as saying he didnt get what a privilege it was to play even after the bar fight. The consequences of the bar fight affected him both at the combine and during his tenure with the Rams - he kept thinking he shoulda been a first rounder. It was only after being cut from the Rams that his attitude changed. That does not mean it is a slam dunk that he is suddenly a WR messiah - but it does provide some context to why he was out-competed during the Rams training camp. He is also on record saying that opportunities were limited at Rams training camp due to being an UDFA. Tavon Austin was a #8 overall pick. So he would have had to "Coleman like suck" to be passed over for Duke.
  11. ah didnt realize #37 was the Giants. I think we also were giving up our #74 and a fourth rounder. Likely 3 team trade with Giants moving to 9, and the Bengals moving to 17. But I think it is clear we woulda nixed it after the Giants picked at #6 once we realized Oliver was there. It is also possible Gettleman nixed it once he realized Miami was interested in Daniel Jones and might trade up higher than 11.
  12. while several of the drops were no doubt the receiver's fault, Allen's 60+ mph zingers are not that easy to latch on to. Hope Daboll has extensive zinger catching practice for the receiver corps this TC.
  13. Allen, Oliver, Dillard, Taylor (if healthy), Ford, Metcalf (yes him too) and Hakeem Butler were the biggest steals.
  14. Quite clear they rated Cody Ford higher than Jawaan Taylor.
  15. I thought he said "when Detroit was on the clock", Ed was the highest guy on the board. I still feel they may have ranked Q. Williams as Plan 1A. But Ed Oliver likely was Plan 1B. I am not complaining at all. And Ed Oliver does some things way better than Q. WIlliams - His get off / twitch / change of direction / range are all other wordly (Willaims is just merely good),
  16. We didnt agree to 11 and 37 for #9 - tells you how much they wanted Oliver
  17. Really? Even the 2017 season? I only remember the Peterman 5 int game and the Saints game. Even the Pats games were very close at the half, no? It is possible I am missing some games. But hey! I am all for turning those blowout losses into wins.
  18. Fins moved from a HC who is offensive minded to defensive minded and from experienced to young QB Only 2 of the blowout losses were with JA starting - even there he did well against the chargers in the second half - so it was only 3 halves of blowout losses
  19. Wait, there are a bunch of cooks masquerading as an nfl team? We all know what too many cooks can do even if they hold their camp a week earlier.?
  20. It didn’t matter in the end but we shoulda rested J.A. and T.E. In the second half of the meaningless final game vs. Miami. Would have prevented stupid injuries. Also maybe we could have lost the game and higher draft picks
  21. The fact that they are fighting over who recognized JA first is the best compliment JA can receive from the media. Reading between the lines, it shows that they think JA is going to be a future star. They want to be able to say "I told you so" later. This is about preserving their own scouting legacy!
  22. Bills are not in the running for a comp pick anyway and Detroit is not in our division that a comp pick for em is going to hurt us a lot. So, if a signing happens before May 7 - it might be the Bills. In other words, Bills can sign him early - but he might choose to wait to sign if another team, for comp pick considerations, wants him to wait. He is special, believe me. Will be an instant upgrade. The big question is health. All the talent in the world cant help if he cant get on the field.
  23. Ed Oliver: Horse Whisperer Cody Ford: Built Tough Devin Singletary: Ant-Man Dawson Knox: Dawson Creek Fort Knox
