  1. have to fit coaching staff. while special, allen is more conventional as a qb (with mad rushing skills). lamar is a fit for roman / harbaugh - not sure he would have the same success with daboll / mcd. mad man roman especially. to maximize lamar’s effectiveness, it helps that the the OC has an online coaching background, which roman has. also something about allen makes him a great fit for his Bills teammates. looks like they will go through a brick wall for him and vice versa. can’t say with certainty the same will happen with lamar with THIS group.
  2. best start for buffalo - how are u feeling? feeling good dream to play tnf shot of bills mafia at midnight buffalo airport allen - need em against ravels ravens game not a big deal - just another game though they are playing lights out. just trusting the process stat related to most rushing tds by a qb overall ja was very mature - not taking any baits just professional yet sincere
  3. they keep giving teasers - latest one JA is #1 among QBs in some stat - maybe yards after contact (my guess)
  4. http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/main/network/watch i think you can watch if you have one of the providers listed - definitely can watch if you have verizon
  5. Definitely prerecorded. They showed a small snippet and said he is going to talk about the oncoming game
  6. Nice Observation. When the team does well - everyone past and present associated with the Bills basks in the limelight (which many would argue is still limited).
  7. Great Perspective. Captures so well the hopes and frustrations of countless Bills fans through the years. Well timed too - just as we are on the upward swing. Every season has started out with hope - so why is this different? a. the record is 9-3 (best since 1996!) b. the team is built for sustained success - not a one and done type roster - great cap situation, franchise QB on rookie deal, top playmakers all signed to reasonable contracts (many steals), coach and GM - young and joined at the hip, coach and GM - it appears they want to be here for a while .. I could go on and on! Let us enjoy the ride!
  8. To those who believe no explanation is necessary. To those who do not believe no explanation is possible.
  9. It does not automatically mean loss of confidence in Hauschka. Part of Beane strategy to keep him away from Pats. That said, no harm in lighting a bit of fire under H$ as well
  10. Comparing 50+ yard FG percent is not correct - it is subject to self selection bias. Hauschka has range much greater than 50 yards. McLaughlin's max range is 50 yards. Even the one he made was exactly 50 yards. The reason he is perfect 1/1 is that teams dont have him kick 50+ FGs whereas McD regularly has Hauschka have a go at 50+ (Hauschka made 13 straight 50+ last year). That is why 40-49 is the correct comparison.
  11. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/gamelog/_/id/3150744/chase-mclaughlin 5/9 40-49 yards. I will pass and roll the dice with Haushka since he is not a clear upgrade. Hope the Pats sign him and he misses a few kicks for them. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/11923/stephen-hauschka for comparison, Haushka is 7/8 at 40-49 yards in a down year
  12. https://billswire.usatoday.com/2019/11/25/broncos-von-miller-praises-bills-dion-dawkins-cody-ford/ I'll just let Von Miller do the talking on this. That is Von freaking Miller man!
  13. Ed Oliver vs. Marshal Yanda is going to be THE Line of Scrimmage matchup to watch when we play the Ravens.
  14. The Jumbotron play actually appears to hurt Lamar Jackson rather than help. He coulda easily juked the defensive lineman one-on-one - but instead the Olineman (who looked at the jumbotron) clogs the lane and stops Lamar from getting a TD since the help arrives when he slows Lamar down.
  15. Classic case of fitting a narrative to match prior beliefs! Square Peg Round Hole who cares? Ya right David Carr. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-total-access/0ap3000000958003/Carr-uses-film-to-show-why-Allen-isn-t-ready-to-start-for-Bills
  16. I would like both teams to win the game buddy! Draft position! A tie would be an awesome result.
  17. Nice find. We can easily move away from Kroft - Dead Cap is only 1.6 million. Hooper is a very good run blocker and also very good at making contested catches (think Duke Williams). The knock on him was that he was not quick enough. But he can easily give you 600+ yards from the TE spot.
  18. No way. Isnt there a Jets-Fins Adam Gase bowl happening at the same time? jk.
  19. Boy! Does the NFL have a short memory or what? Recent two time coach of the year (2013 and 2015). His starting QB is out all season and they almost beat the Saints 10 days ago! Just grab him as a special assistant!! All his experience with Can Newton will come in handy for JA's offense as well as defense against Lamar.
  20. Hope EO gets it. Was a truly impressive performance. Between him and Devin White. Just looking at the stats, White might get it though I have always believed that a fumble recovery (relative to FF) is an overrated stat - just depends which way the ball rolls. Also, shortage of TB fans might work against White. Eagles have some crazy fans post their SB win - but c'mon that was a bad loss to the Dolphins - no way you give it to someone from an offense that, on the whole, laid an egg.
  21. nice first post. welcome to TBD. There gave been several goats (Norwood, Harmon, the ref who made the incorrect call on the Home Run Throw Forward, the McKelvin fumble, even the beloved Jim Kelly for his 4 stupid interceptions in a 37-24 loss in SB XXVI). To me the most egregious goats were the Tragedy in Tennessee Ref and the McKelvin fumble on MNF opening week that killed the entire season for me (I mean what's he thinking?). I will likely never forgive these two even if we win 10 superbowls. But I will forgive (maybe I already have) Norwood. Just because of the stage, it might have been the play with the biggest impact. But I do feel sorry for the guy. He had never made a 47 yarder on grass ever. So it was not a gimme by any means. I think he lives in Buffalo now and I remember a game where he was honored.
  22. That is the logical response - but I have been around the block enough that I am willing to bet at least part of the narrative will revolve around "Lamar Jackson's weaknesses", "Pats' decline" and the "Banged-up Steelers". And, compared to years past, I am fine with it.
  23. I kinda want all these media guys to continue sleeping on the Bills as we pull off one narrow win after another. Let us win the East and let people attribute it to a Pats decline rather than us playing great football. I dont care. Somehow the "underdog" mentality fits this team. No divas No outrageous contracts No drama. Just go to work every day and keep improving till you are the last team standing.
  24. If this is a serious question, my two suggestions would be Quinton Flowers (formerly South Florida) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quinton_Flowers#College_statistics Anu Solomon (formerly Baylor) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anu_Solomon
