Week 6: Chiefs at Bills (+5): Monday 5pm on Fox
IgotBILLStopay replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Chiefs have looked very vulnerable against the Chargers and Raiders. The key to keeping em in check is Time of Possession and effective 4 man pass rush with the occasional blitzer. I like our chances. -
I always thought of him as a pass blocker first. In his 8 games with significant PT for us (7 as starter) he did not allow a single sack. He was so good at reading where the blitz was coming from. I was sorry to see him get traded. I think going against the Bills defense in practice is what made him good. As McD says, players come to Buffalo to become the best versions of themselves.

Tredavious white's decision to take a slight discount and sign a big deal early is looking golden to him right now. Not that I am complaining. He deserves his money. That is correct. But the Chiefs will be getting much more rest while the Bills will have none. That matters when it is a short week.

Week 5: Bills at Titans on Tuesday Night Football
IgotBILLStopay replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The bot posted this somewhere else I think. I dont think it is in the Bills hands whether they want to pay or not. That being said, it is likely the NFL and NFLPA will work out an arrangement so the non-offending players are paid. -

This is the likely reason. If no positives tomorrow and contact tracing shows Davis got it from Humphries / Batson - they can potentially still hv the game. -

That is correct. Can move the game to Sunday night after moving the Titans game to Monday night. That doesn’t detract from what I said about the Titans game being on, no? -

Normally with another positive result, the clock is reset and there should be no chance of the Titans game being played on Sunday. And there is no way to move it to Monday since Bills play TNF. So why hasn’t the league cancelled the game yet (forfeit postponed etc.)? I believe there is still a chance this game will go on. And strangely enough, if the new positive tests can be traced to the Titans’ players breaking protocol and getting together, and there have been no more such instances except the one on Sep 29, the game might still go on. 1. Corey Davis WR is the new positive result today. Most likely he was at the Tannehill organized workout at MBA on Sep 29 after the Titans closed their facility. He is a key offensive player and it was an Offense organized practice. Two other Offensive players tested positive on October 2 - WR Adam Humphries and WR Cameron Batson (PS). I am going to assume these 2 guys were infected in the first wave. 2. The key question is were Humphries and Batson at the unauthorized practice on Sep 29? If they were, that is likely where Davis got infected and tested positive 7 days later (post incubation). 3. The Titans were likely warned against unauthorized get together only on Oct 1 and likely did not get together after Sep 29 (I am guessing here) 4. The get together was outdoors and likelihood of infection was low (because of viral loads etc.). 5. If the Titans have not gotten together after Sep 29 (and that is a big IF), no one else was likely infected at that get together (it will be 9 days tomorrow). 6. This is why contact tracing is so important. If the source of Davis’ infection was Humphries or Davis and there has been no contact between Titans players afterSep 29, the game can still go on (sans any player who tested positive of course). 7. I can understand McD and the Bills players being a bit wary - but I just listened to an authority of viral loads who says risk of game time infection from an opponent is minimal - which is evidenced by all Vikings players testing negative after the Titans game. He also believes the risk for Mahomes getting infected from Gilmore is very small. -

I don’t understand why TEN - NE not being on the schedule is a problem. Bills and Broncos can play each other twice - will be like a divisional matchup no? -

Titans NE will play if there is an extra week. Otherwise it is ruled a tie. That is the plan. At least the teams dont forfeit, no? so they are not as heavily penalized. -

It will work this season - since there are no fans in WNY - so no need to arrange tailgating, parking etc. It is only team logistics. Was arranged quite easily when the Chiefs Pats game was moved to Monday. -
Titans player test positive today 10/7
IgotBILLStopay replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well both teams have the same problem - so they will at least be equally unprepared. -

can schedule it at Bills no? For Denver it is a shorter trip to WNY than Foxborough -

Now a new option has emerged. No forfeit needed. Let Bills play the Broncos in week 5 - and let Tennessee and NE get a bye. If there is an extra week at the end of the season - they can play - otherwise call it a tie. I love this option. -

TY. I have not been to one - so I defer to superior knowledge. But .. if what you say is true - why was McD critical of the competitive disadvantage when fans were allowed in Miami but not in WNY? -

I love this idea!! Call Tennessee - NE a tie - so no team is unduly penalized yet the season can go on. And guys stay safe. Yes the Broncos or Bills will get an extra home game - but that is a small price to pay. -

Really man? That is what we need now? I am not even getting into the pandemic concerns. Whatever happened to fair competition? McD was unhappy even with the Fins having 13K fans. Now this? -

This tells you the Bills are not comfortable playing the Titans anytime soon. That means Bills preferred options are: a. Titans Forfeit b. Extend season and play them many weeks hence -
Titans already playing Steelers in week 7 man. The possibilities are a. Extend season by at least a week b. Play Monday / Tuesday if Titans are deemed safe and move the TNF game c. Titans ForfeiT

I have an important question that has not been asked / answered here or elsewhere. Is it possible the new Titans positive tests are not because of infection by teammates? I am asking because these guys have not been around the team for 8 plus days. I am asking because if these are infections from the community and other players / practice facility are safe - then a Monday night game can still happen ( of course the TNF game will be pushed back to Saturday night or something). -
On the plus side - their prep has been disrupted a bit and many of their players are sitting out - mainly Jeffrey Simmons. On the minus side - their coaches got an extra week to prep and they are well rested. Defense: Our run defense showed up in the second half of the Raiders game. That gives me hope since containing Henry is the key. Tannehill is the modern Tyrod Taylor - good game manager - few mistakes - he wont lose the game but he wont win it by himself either. But they will try to control the clock. Defense conditioning can play a role. Offense: The will miss Simmons, who was on a tear. Our tackles should be be extra-wary of Clowney since he can really disrupt things. I like our WR corps against their DBs. A lot. Bottomline - Dont lose the turnover battle and this will be a relatively easy win. Major objective besides the win - Keep Allen safe.
