  1. I do like Creed Humphrey - replacement for Mungo now and for Morse from next year. Just not at 30. Still Need a game changing DE in the worst way possible - have Murphy’s roster spot to fill.
  2. Autry’s value also extends to Bills’ practice. Our OL can hopefully learn to deal with him. He was a monster in the WC game. Iron sharpens Iron kinda thing...
  3. 6+ pages and no numbers yet regarding the restructure. sigh. but I did come away from the thread with a greater appreciation for why the Bills did not release Butler - so it was good.
  4. I got a sense Bills did not even ask him about taking a cut - that is why it was a surprise to him. Guess the cap situation is such that they dont have even 4-5 mill for Brown. It is the mid-level squeeze.
  5. His cap hit is 7.6 mill and deadcap is 11.8 mill and 2021 cash is 5 mill (4.5 guaranteed). He is also guaranteed 2.5 mill in 2022. If he chooses to walk away, he will be leaving 7.0 mill on the table. So cap hit if he walks away will be 4.8 mill (11.8 - 7) and Bills will save 2.8 mill (7.6-4.8) against the cap. Did I get the math right?
  6. 126 mill is the highest ever guaranteed on any contract I believe. Dallas has gone crazy.
  7. 4 yes 160 Mill with 126 mill guaranteed - the guaranteed amt is a bit rich IMO
  8. 12-15 mill per year will be a pipe dream for either player in this market. That said, I agree we cant keep both and I also agree that Williams shd be the higher priority - Smith, Klein, Dodson, an FA and a top 3 round draft pick should fill in adequately for Milano.
  9. 8+ mill a bit too rich with Ertz’s declining skills and this market
  10. C’mon man - how do your stats negate my point? Bills have already paid Morse over 28 mill the past two years. This year his salary is 7 mill of which 2 mill is guaranteed. Showing that 12 centers make more than 11 mill a year only makes it more obvious that the remainder left on Morse for this year at 7 mill is very reasonable, no? the key point is that though Morse will make 35 mill in his first 3 years of the deal - the Bills have already paid out 28 mill with what is left being cheap for a starting center.
  11. Why release Morse? He will easily fetch a 4th or even a 3rd in the trade market. Centers at 7mill per year dont grow on trees even in the shrinking cap 2021 situation.
  12. I wouldnt read too much into a few extra snaps v. Miami. That said, I've been a Matakevich fan since his Temple days. and definitely want him on the Bills roster and any other year, he is worth that money. But this offseason 3 million will go a long way - so Matakevich is a restructure / pay reduction candidate.
  13. I too was surprised before I realized a Matakevich release could save the Bills 3+ million in Cap space. I suspect Fairburn factored that into his analysis - though he shda explained that better in the article no doubt. Personally I think his ST play is stellar and worth that cap space- though the Bills do not appear to value him that highly as a LB.
  14. No brainer move. That said kudos to Beane forgetting it done it so quickly. The extension is reasonable and sends a message to prospective FAs that if you produce, Bills will take care of ya.
  15. 14 mill is still above expectation. I thought he would come in around 10 mill given no other team wants him.
  16. With the shrinking cap, excellent players are going to be released by teams scrambling to get under the cap. And, FA contracts will be a lot cheaper this time round than last year - so we wont see records being set (like with Mahomes, Hopkins, Ramsey etc.) Unless there is a situation where a player is a perfect fit and is very clearly above replacement, the mantra should be patience - since after the initial flurry of deals, there will be lotsa good players chasing shrinking dollars. Also draft picks representing cheap labor are especially valuable this year - so part with them very grudgingly. That, ofc, doesnt mean we dont use them in trades - all it means is that they will fetch much greater value than in years past. Edit 3/21 Beane is really practicing patience. I admit I am a lil disappointed that we have not yet gotten a game changing pass rusher (seems so far we are running it back with the same team as last year since we have only re-signed our key guys). That being said, several nice players are being released by teams (Adoree Jackson, Kyle Fuller etc.) and there are bargains to be had due to the shrinking cap. Dunlap, Houston, Clowney etc. are decent pass rushers who will go for cheap. Take Houston for example - the guy had 19 sacks the last two years and he is looking at a deal around 6 mill per year. Also, with the initial run on pass rushers - there is a good chance one of the top 3 of Phillips, Rousseau or Paye is likely to be available when the Bills pick at 30 - which was unthinkable before FA. Bottomline: I think Beane's discipline is going to begin to pay off. So let us fasten our seatbelts and enjoy the ride till the draft in terms of player additions to the roster.
  17. So Sorry for your loss, OP. She will be celebrating the Bills' achievements 2021 and beyond from up there.
  18. Browns were the first with 15 mill+ money and were the only team offering that for a long time. I was told that Cardinals' raised offer was kinda last minute - if you gimme this, I am signing with you kinda deal. But hopefully, more will come out later providing some clarity on the situation. Bottomline, it was clear that, from Watt's perspective, this decision was primarily about money in his last big contract.
  19. we will be adding Lotuleilei also, no?
  20. Yes. Bring in Danielle Hunter - Will be Diggs 2.0 trade. Vikes are confident in their drafting abilities after Diggs, Waynes, Kendricks, Hunter, Jefferson etc. - will gladly accept a first this year.
  21. That is a good list, but I would like us to swing a trade for the Viking with the girly name please (Danielle Hunter). He is the one player with All-Pro / DPOY potential - and we need to get a game-changer on that D-line. The others are all serviceable - but not really game-changers. Among these others, I voted for Hendricksen with Lawson in second.
  22. Per a source: At this point the front-runners appear to be actually the Browns and the Packers. So if a decision is made in the next 2-3 days, it will likely be between these 2. Sry can’t say more - though there can still be a last minute twist.
  23. Where does Milano enter into a Dodson decision? Different position no? Isnt Dodson the MLB backup to Tremaine?
  24. Joe B has not heard of restructured contracts? Most teams are in worse cap shape than the bills. There is no indication that Brown will not return to his previous level after an offseason recovering from his injuries. That being said, I do agree that with Davis' emergence, the Bills will not overpay for Brown in 2021.
  25. You have to throw the teams a bone to play. Otherwise why would players come out and play after losing the prior week. Draft compensation? But then you cant give the third place team something that the superbowl loser doesnt get. So big fan of the idea of the game - just not practically possible.
