  1. Been saying for a while that Darnold will be a great backup for Allen. They get along well and being around Allen can help Darnold too.
  2. gonna be a contrarian on this one. The Bills now have a strong locker room with respected veterans. Someone can take Wilson under their wing and help the man and in turn help the Bills land a bargain backup tackle. If Beane kicked the tires on this one, I would be elated. Also, Shdnt someone investigate the Fins? WTH is going on with optional workouts? Sound more like mandatory to me. Are they legal given the CBA? Flores is Belichick’s left nut of course.
  3. A little bummed about this since Rankins, when healthy, is really really good. I was hoping he would fall to the Bills in the 2016 draft - but NO picked him and we ended up with Shaq Lawson. That line with Q. Williams, Franklin - Meyers, Carl Lawson and now Rankins looks quite good on paper. Key question is, of course, how healthy is Rankins?
  4. Captures what I have been going through the past week so well:)
  5. Beane is really practicing patience. I admit I am a lil disappointed that we have not yet gotten a game changing pass rusher (seems so far we are running it back with the same team as last year since we have only re-signed our key guys). That being said, several nice players are being released by teams (Adoree Jackson, Kyle Fuller etc.) and there are bargains to be had due to the shrinking cap. Dunlap, Houston, Clowney etc. are decent pass rushers who will go for cheap. Take Houston for example - the guy had 19 sacks the last two years and he is looking at a deal around 6 mill per year. Also, with the initial run on pass rushers - there is a good chance one of the top 3 of Phillips, Rousseau or Paye is likely to be available when the Bills pick at 30 - which was unthinkable before FA. Bottomline: I think Beane's discipline is going to begin to pay off. So let us fasten our seatbelts and enjoy the ride till the draft in terms of player additions to the roster.
  6. Great news. He is a great fit for us
  7. C’mon we coulda and shda beaten that deal. Beane???
  8. not gonna happen - Adoree Jackson and Kyle Fuller are available for less than 10 mill aav - so why "waste a #1 on a CB this year" but I do like Asante Samuel Jr
  9. 6 mill guaranteed and we were not in on it? Only reason I can think of is that McD did not consider Reddick a scheme fit. He did have 4 sacks with Steve Wilks who has the same defensive philosophy as McD - so I thought McD could make it work.

  11. The late transaction may be Ertz related due to Chargers signing Cook though the conference was probably scheduled to say we are done in FA.
  12. Reason for the press conference is either - we are done with free agency or to announce a new "big" game changing sign or trade. 10 mill and under salary signings dont count:). 60-40 in favor of the former.
  13. So there is some late transaction happening that caused the delay? cant think of any other reason.
  14. some mistakes in the analysis 1. all the restructuring did was take his salary this year and spread it over the future years. The yearly cash remains the same - so the Bears' cap hit for Mack in the event of a trade would be the same as without the trade (about 21 mill) so long as they have not yet paid out the restructure bonus yet. There is no info that they have paid it out. 2. If a trade happens, the Bills will not have a 30 mill cap hit next season. You should look only at the yearly cash. The cap hits would be 17 mill, 18 mill, 23 mill and 23 mill from 2021-24. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/chicago-bears/khalil-mack-14414/
  15. Mack has the stronger resume and is more versatile. Hunter is younger but has the injury scare. Trading for either will involve our first rounder at a minimum. I am honestly torn between the two. It appeared Mack was the no-brainer but age is a big deal.
  16. why did they delay this? was the sane move to make. Nice - he was actually the glue guy on the OL last season.
  17. Thanks. I do like some of those names.
  18. Options on the pre-draft wish list are dwindling a. Game Changing Edge Rusher: Justin Houston, Jadeveon Clowney or Haason Reddick, with Dunlap being a cheaper option b. CB 2: Adoree Jackson or Xavier Rhodes (Cheaper option) c. Tight End: Zach Ertz and the Starting TE of any team that drafts Kyle Pitts. d. Mauling guard to open running lanes (a la Incognito): Lane Taylor, James Carpenter (just dont get Gabe Jackson) e. RB: Hunt, Fournette
  19. fixed it for ya. we cannot go into the draft without having at least three of four things: a game changing pass rusher b. upgrade at TE c. CB 2 d. A nasty Olineman
  20. These numbers tell me Smoke may not be 100% healthy.
  21. What the story fails to mention is the off-season work Davis put in - he knew every WR’s routes by heart and could replace anyone. That is what allowed him to develop trust with Daboll and Allen and chemistry with Beasley so well. That chemistry was also a prime reason Beasley started going off at season’s end. I wish Beasley had not been hurt for the post season - I would hv liked to hv seen Allen with his 4 healthy horsemen (D, B, B, D) Vs. The Chiefs.
  22. With Adoree Jackson’s release Rhodes becomes a back up option - get Adoree in the fold without delay Beane!!
  23. And just yesterday I was rewatching the Cardinals (Hopkins hail mary game) game and was wincing after Bojo's 12 yard shank in the 3rd quarter. Notwithstanding that shank, still very surprised Mr. "50 yard punting avg" is not returning to the Bills.
  24. Haack can actually play some WR in a pinch, though likely not at an elite level.
