  1. DT Kawann Short Reasons to get him: Was one of the elite DTs a few years ago (on par with Aaron Donald - they both had 11 sacks one year). Has not played the last two years due to rotator cuff injuries - so actually has less miles on his body than his peers. Great familiarity with McD and Beane. Is one of the few compete DTs - can do it all - pass rush, run stop etc. Has had a ton of success playing alongside Star Lotuleilei. Can be a nice role model for Ed Oliver to emulate. With the FA pot of gold drying up for a lot of teams - he will likely be available for less than 5 mill per year. Familiarity with Eric Washington. Reason not to get him: Age. Obada has filled in for him decently - so Beane might think there would be duplication with Obada also being on the roster. Money is better spent on an edge rusher.
  2. Yes I did LAMP - but was merited this once, no? And, In my defense, I did stop the LAMPing a while ago

  4. The more you read about him / watch his fiim, the more you will fall in love with this signing. That is what happened on my deep dive. halfway into it i'm like - wait a minute - this guy is pretty good! I did think his early tape shows that he was a little stiff football wise - but he has improved every year - and that freakish athleticism shines through. I found no weakness at all - which was a surprise to me.
  5. To quote the previous poster: that enough stats for ya? that does not disprove your point that one number cannot define that position - actually I am all for signing Clowney - who had zero sacks last year.
  6. can improve upon it: Brilliant Brandon Beane Brings British Behemoth Bargain to Bolster Buffalo Bills.
  7. Bryan Cox and Mike Love?
  8. Here is him going against Cordy Glenn (scroll down to video) https://www.panthers.com/news/film-review-with-eric-washington-week-3 Here is his sack of Tom Brady https://www.panthers.com/video/highlight-efe-obada-sacks-tom-brady
  9. This link has a video of Obada going against a familiar Tackle - Cordy Glenn https://www.panthers.com/news/film-review-with-eric-washington-week-3 I noticed that too! Maybe Brady thought - I better keep it safe - no Belichick / Kraft protection anymore.
  10. FWIW, this was one of the videos that sold me on Obada. https://www.panthers.com/video/highlight-efe-obada-sacks-tom-brady
  11. He had 415 snaps (39%). so 5.5 sacks is a much better rate than, say, Aldon Smith, who played way more snaps.
  12. Hey you take what you can claim! but i was no doubt tickled that the deep dive beyond the top FAs at the position (due to our cap situation) unearthed this potential nugget. We do that with every FA and 90% of them dont work out but every once in a while somebody on this board is able to guess what the front office is gonna do.
  13. Has to be for a Dlineman, no? Somehow I dont think this will be for a CB.
  14. I think the team is profiting from the novelty value of the WFT name. Why not milk it to the full? And they preserve the option value of a new name with extra Jersey sales etc. An option is only valuable so long as it has not been exercised
  15. The big advantage with Ingram is that you can line him all over the Dline. I remember the game against KC when he had 3.5 sacks. For the Chargers, he was Bosa before Bosa. And he does well as a weakside edge - and will complement Jerry Hughes well. But age is biatch ...
  16. The first wave of signings is done - but a few good ones still remain and it looks like they will all sign for less than 7 mill per year. Which one do you think fits the Bills the best? I am kinda sold on getting one of these 3 (in order): 1. Clowney 2. Ingram 3. Houston Ingram and Houston fit the scheme better but Clowney is an elite run defender who can really seal the edge and is younger. Here is a pff writeup on Ingram and Clowney: https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2021-nfl-free-agency-jadeveon-clowney-and-melvin-ingram-may-end-up-being-two-of-the-best-values-at-edge-this-offseason
  17. Shda had TE as a choice to at least give DE/DT a run for its money (DE/DT should still dominate).
  18. Dammit! But Beane was right to pass on Jackson if it was going to be a 3 year 39 mill deal. A bit too rich for us.
  19. I hope the Bills sent someone here too. some mouthwatering prospects - but.... sometimes if Beane has already done his research he might throw out a red herring by not attending the pro day of a prospect he is really interested in. The draft h as, of late, become as much about not letting other teams know who you are interested in as the evaluations themselves and Beane has been good about playing the cards close to his chest.
  20. Yes we are all happy with Beane - but he has yet to improve the roster significantly for 2021 season - so let us wait to see if the Addison, Butler, Jefferson, Norman deals or non-waiving of Murphy from last year come back to bite us. we still need infusion of talent at TE, DE, run blocking Guard, CB and maybe, RB.
  21. Yes for Pitts. Will trade into the top 25 for Rousseau, Phillips or Paye and not trade up for any of the others ( even Farley)
  22. Voted for T.E. I love Mayfield and he fills a need but #30 maybe high. Maybe trade down and pick him later. Toney is worth it as a late first but can’t waste a first rounder on the WR position given our strength there - now if this were Ja’Marr Chase, I might be tempted.:) T.E. Does remind me (and a zillion others) of Alvin Kamara. That is a game changer right there.
