  1. I dont think they have their guy picked out at all - I am sure they have mid-first round rated guys and a couple should be left at 30 - and they will likely pick the best out of those. That being said, if they have a guy rated say a top 15 pick and he slides to, say, 23 or more, Beane might go up and get him. As of now it appears at least one of Phillips, Rousseau and Paye will be available at 24.
  2. Dawkins, Knox, Zay Jones and Cody Ford - yes I think they had their guy picked out. But not Josh Allen - since the highest slot the Bills could hope for was 5th and Cleveland could have picked Allen. Dorsey kept the Mayfield pick very close to his chest.
  3. Just wanted to say that I am in awe. I was pretty proud of my BIlls fandom - but y'all put anything I do/did to shame. Humbled!!
  4. We actually already did. Just that Beane traded him to the Browns (I am talking about Wyatt Teller). Can we get lucky twice?
  5. The good news is that Haack and Sanders are adequate replacements for Bojo and Brown. I feel good about the backup QB situation as well. While I expect Davis to improve in year 2 - he may have limited opportunities if Diggs, Sanders and Beasley are healthy. As of now, big picture, we are treading water relative to last year's roster composition and are hoping the addition of Star / Obada / Breida / Hollister, our 2021 draft picks, healthy Moss and Ford, and improved play from Edmunds, Knox, Bates, Jackson, Oliver and Epenesa will put us over KC. Improved pass rush, better run offense and defense, legit CB2, smarter TE play are our target areas. Zimmer and Klein are the wild cards - they showed flashes last season and I am hoping they can elevate their game and consistency. All in all - feel good about the roster - but Beane still has work to do. If he is done with FA, he needs to hit on 3-4 draft picks in terms of immediate contributions to really put us over the hump that is the Chiefs. Coping with the pass rush appears to be their biggest achilles heel.
  6. The replacement is the current Assistant General Manager of the Carolina Panthers. Here is his resume from Linked In. https://www.linkedin.com/in/brandon-beane-9477864 He may be prone to treating the Panthers as his personal farm team but overall I think he is going to be pretty good - maybe even win Executive of the Year. maybe somebody should save a screenshot.
  7. You feeling charitable today? That estimate is quite generous:) Edit: forgot about reuniting with Roman - so maybe you are right after all.
  8. https://www.patspulpit.com/2017/4/23/15398184/2017-nfl-draft-creating-a-brand-new-nfl-draft-value-trade-chart Discount to reflect time value of money. I am not alone - here is something from a quick google search.
  9. Bottomline: We are not getting the full benefit of your Bills-related wisdom. I think your self-defined criteria for post usefulness are too high. Please post more.
  10. The Jests gave the Colts two 2nd rounders in the same draft year and one second rounder the next year to move up from 6 to 3. The Fins got a 2023 first rounder and a third round comp pick this year. I usually use a rule of thumb where a draft pick next year in round X is roughly worth a draft pick in round X-1 this year unless we are talking about a top 5 or top 10 pick. There is no way a 2023 first rounder (two years hence) is worth more than a second rounder in the 2021 draft. So the Fins at most landed a second and a late 3rd for giving up a third overall for a sixth overall. Shaking my head since every analyst is lauding the Fins. Not that I am complaining. I do like it when AFCE opponents overpay or under-receive, though I would have liked it if the Colts did not get so manty cheap assets. In contrast, the NFC benefited from the Fins' largesse. Edit: Went over to the Fins' message boards and a good chunk of them hate the Philly trade. Feel the fins were fleeced. The Iggles message board is gaga about the trade. Says something I think.
  11. That streak is gonna end now - Obada and McKenzie will be playing in their first super bowl:)
  12. I agree it may have been all relative since Winters was so bad. But the other members of the O-line seemed to think Boettger was the glue guy - which counts for something I guess.
  13. friendly note from the grammar police: RE-SIGNS not RESIGNS pls
  14. Morse's homegrown replacement next year. I like the long term planning. Actually Boettger was so good as a replacement last year, the worry is that he may attract bigger bucks than the Bills want to give. That said, let us this year if last season's performance was a fluke (no reason to think so).
  15. never doubted it .. about the skill I mean. Breida brings the speed element to what Motor and Moss bring. So he is a nice complement. And with his speed, he can play some ST too - didnt he play ST in the Super Bowl?
  16. Meinerz was on GMFB this morning ... liked him a lot. Now need to watch his tape.
  17. Am I the only one who thinks Breida signing does not preclude Etienne of Harris at #30? - just like an Obada signing does not preclude a Rousseau, Paye or Phillips pickup at #30, if Beaner feels one of these players is BPA. I know Etienne comp is Kamara and Harris comp is Henry - and I was torn between them for a long time - but now, for the record, am firmly in the Harris camp - With the receiving weapons we have, what we need is that power runner to get those 3-4 yards in the red zone. Also am a lil concerned about Etienne's fumbleitis and the quality of Clemson's opponents.
  18. nice call njbuff
  19. Boom - there is the RB room hole getting filled. Nicely done Beaner!
  20. You may be onto something. Besides the media narrative, it also may have to do with not having enough targets.
  21. he did in the very last Bills game we saw:) but it is a cool stat for sure. I think Lamar Jackson has a similar stat. edit: just read what the other posters wrote. Nice to note that was not a red zone play. you learn something new on this board everyday. thanks guys.
  22. Obada lined up at DT also last year (at least in some of the film I watched.
