  1. If Marlowe bolts, it will be a big loss - depth very shaky behind Dr. Poyer and Mr. Hyde.
  2. I agree for the most part. First kudos to Beane for identifying Teller and drafting him - but I think he gave up on him a bit too early and that is a slight knock on Beane. Probably Beane's second worst trade after the Benjamin fiasco. Overall of course, Beane's trades have been pretty decent.
  3. Thanks. Looking at that depth chart, there is little doubt our draft will be defense centric! need upgrades at DE, DT and CB (and TE also).
  4. wonder why the chargers moved on from him - continuity in front of Herbert cant be a bad thing, no?
  5. OMG. Deja vu. He was the guy drafted immediately after Zay Jones. I thought Lamp was pretty good based on the senior bowl practice tales and tape in 2017 - but it was not a position of need for us. And we know the 2017 Senior Bowl was where McD did his first serious in-person scouting for the Bills (Dawkins, Peterman etc.). I remember he more than held his own against those Alabama guys - Jonathan Allen and Ryan Anderson. I think he switched to guard because of having short arms - but I wouldnt mind giving him a run at backup tackle as well.
  6. Unless you need the exercise, go for a robotic lawn mower! Put your hat on, pull up a chair, beer in hand and watch Bills vs. Oilers while the robot does the work for ya! Just saying.
  7. There are more Wyoming Cowboys on the Bills roster (Gentry, Hollister, Youknowwho) than on any other roster. Hawks and Broncos are the only other rosters with multiple Cowboys.
  8. kinda shocked by this signing - if there can be someone worse than Winters, it is Douglas. The guy was a sieve and couldnt block anyone's grandmother. I know Titans fans couldnt wait to be rid of him. the only rationale I can think of is that the Bills Oline coach must feel he can mould Douglas into something better. If we get the Douglas of the 2019 / 20 seasons - there is no way he makes the roster.
  9. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2021/4/1/22360642/buffalo-bills-running-back-christian-wade-granted-third-exemption-year-international-pathway-program I like it since he will not count towards the roster limits for us and we have an extra year option on him!!
  10. He is a Tulane grad Academic All American - now owns a fitness company and is a financial advisor! quite an impressive young man. https://www.linkedin.com/in/sammisreyes
  11. and outside chance we go with a guard - but if Parsons drops outside 20, all bets are off.
  12. He had 125 tackles while starting just 12 games in 2020. At or around vet min, he'd be a steal!! But his PFF grade is kinda poor. So he reacts late but recovers decently and tackles? Sounds like Edmunds lite:) I like, no love the signing! - need guys like him to cover Kelce!!
  13. I have long advocated signing Sanders as a perfect fit for us / Allen - even before the Broncos traded him to the 49ers due to cap woes. JoeB's assessment is spot on. With respect to his weakness vs. Physical receivers - yes the slight frame and a lack of aggressive arm moves to disengage hurt him. I have always felt that he can benefit by being lined up next to another great receiver - say, Diggs, - then the choice for his defender is do you double cover Diggs or jam Sanders and either one is poisonous. I also feel that McClappy should complain to the refs more to get the Interference calls. Cant let KC type CBs maul the receivers.
  14. You are not wrong in your initial assessment. Bates' calling card when we traded for him was his versatility. He has played Tackle decently as well.
  15. oh no! Bates is going to be the backup and, in my dreams, eventual starting center
  16. At this point Sam needs a fresh start. His confidence is shaken. So I voted for him:)
  17. Rivera - McDermott Game II. McD will be looking to level the score.
  18. Basically a Nsekhe replacement
  19. And where is the discussion in the context of Beane reaching out to Jarran Reed. I dont see that in the thread "Jarran Reed to Chiefs"? That being said, I do apologize again since the thread clearly offends you.
  20. I agree we wont go WR. LB is not a pressing need - but we will likely pick up one in the first 3 rounds. I think you misunderstood my post Everything does not have in the OP for a thread to be valuable, no? If the OP's post is all informative, why have a thread? The point is that there is no scope for discussing a. and b. in the "Jarran Reed to Chiefs" thread.
  21. Umm ... not sure there. Reed is gone. This is about non-Reed options. More importantly, it appears to show a. that Beane is still looking to upgrade at that spot in FA (many felt we were done with FA - see some of the follow up posts) b. maybe the draft is weak in interior DL (have read that in many places) that Beane feels he cant upgrade using the Draft a. and b. appear to be much different than questions than Jarran Reed signing with Chiefs, no? maybe I messed up. If so, my apologies man! Or, a. Barmore may not be available at 30 and who is left is not good enough at 30 b. Even Barmore is not good enough at 30
  22. According to the Athletic, the Bills were in on the Jarran Reed sweepstakes before he signed with the Chiefs. (paywall) https://theathletic.com/2483589/2021/03/29/chiefs-strike-free-agency-hit-with-jarran-reed-as-their-coveted-third-pass-rusher/?source=emp_shared_article It appears Beane is far from done with Free Agency, especially on the DLine. non paywall site https://billswire.usatoday.com/2021/03/30/buffalo-bills-had-interest-kansas-city-chiefs-jarran-reed/
  23. lol! Let em. Good for em. They are an NFC team - so not really consequential for our fortunes. There is no guarantee Beane would draft the same guy. So long as Hunter helps us win playoff games against the Chiefs etc., I am good.
  24. Depends on the vet and the cost no? If I am getting Danielle Hunter, that #30 is outa here with or without an offseason. But I agree that the value of trading the pick is higher without an offseason.
  25. They were effective precisely because they ran it so infrequently. If you make it a staple, defenses will adapt, no? With 4 thoroughbreds and an elite arm post the Sanders signing, I believe the Bills will actually be doing the opposite - going four wide. Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust If Diggs dont get you, Sanders will If Sanders dont get you, Beasley will If Beasley dont get you, Davis will The best offenses do not over-rely on trick plays - but actually are able to run their plays successfully even when the defense knows it is coming. Yes, we need to keep defenses honest by having both trick plays and an adequate underneath run / screen / jet sweep type game when defenses sell out to stop the pass by packing the secondary - but that is where Allen's legs (and hey even receiving skills:)) will contribute to the damage. Cant go away from what made it a successful offense last season, no?
