  1. Ok my take on the bottom of roster changes: The backup 1 DT is currently not on roster. Don't see Butler or Horrible Harry making it. Do see OBD keeping 4 eventually with Star, Ed and the Iron Giant (Zimmer) as 3 of the 4. A veteran pickup off waivers or a trade here is likely. CB2 will go to Levi but OBD has to be concerned about depth at outside CB. Can see another outsider being brought in. 6 CBs will make team with Tre, Levi, Taron, Siran as only 4 assured so far. The OL will be another revolving door at cut down time as Lamp, Hart and Douglas may bring trade offers for 5th-7th rd picks. Believe Bills will keep 9 and PS Doyle. LB will be only 5 at cut down as extra spot will go to DE, WR or TE/FB. Taiwan Jones, DE Johnson and Matekevich make squad as pure STers
  2. First things first - @Shaw66 as usual great write up and a pleasure to read as a result. @Doc BrownI share your concern about our Return game without Roberts. Hoping McKenzie can handle punts and wonder if they can use Breida on KOs. Not as worried about the Haack for Bojo swap as the hope is that Haack will help with pinning teams inside their 20. As for my read on team overall there are 4 areas we need to see dramatic improvement: 1. Run blocking - Ford's return and a summer with the 5 starters learning the system are the keys to improvement here. 2. DLine play - the return of Star and the addition of 3 new pass rushers should help the Bills get back in the top 10 Ds both against the pass and run. Oliver needs to emerge as a 3 down threat. 3. Edmunds does need to become a dominant player versus the run and pass. He showed an ability to pressure QBs when given the chance late last year. And he needs to help in the run fits on a more consistent basis. 4. TE play to add 3rd down conversion improvement and a down the seam threat. Hollister and Knox have the speed to threaten down the seam. Have not seen this in Daboll's scheme to date. Go Bills
  3. Lofton had already left Packers after 1986 season. He spent 87 and 88 with the Raiders before coming to BUF in 1989.
  4. Was at the regular season game in NYC as was down there on business. Forgot that Jim Kelly was hurt that game too. The Phil Simms injury in this game is why Hosteleter played in playoffs. It was tough sledding for the Bills on the ground. Giants ran the ball 42 times and had ball for 38 minutes versus Bills 22 minutes. No turnovers by either team but LT dropped a couple INTs and one was a pick 6. Thurman was stifled running but had a long catch on a screen. Might have been the most physical game I ever saw in person.
  5. As OBD likes flexibility I wonder if they try Lamp at C in camp and, if so, can he give Morse a run for the money?
  6. Several of the 1949 Bills joined the Browns in NFL. May explain why WNY saw Browns on TV feed routinely for most of 50s and 60s.
  7. Russell Copeland was in Yr 3 with Bills in 1995. He was drafted in 1993 as a potential downfield threat the year after Lofton left. He led the Bills in targets in 1995 but was 3rd in catches behind Billy Brooks and Lonnie Johnson that year. And he only had 1 TD. By 1996 Moulds arrived as a rookie and Quinn Early in place of Billy Brooks and Copeland became a non-factor. By 1997 Copeland was gone from the Bills. Tasker had 20 catches and 3 TDs in 1995 and 21 catches and 3 TDs in 1996. He had 0 catches in 1997 his last year as a Bill. I am not sure that qualifies as a successful career as a WR, even given the lower passing stats back then.
  8. May be noted elsewhere in thread but vaccinated players will be tested every 14 days as well.
  9. Funny how majority (4/7) are ex-Panthers. And 4/7 are over 30. Also 4/7 took a pay cut. Preferential treatment to ex Carolina guys or an age thing?
  10. LOL maybe cuz his Head Coach Pete 'Let's go bowlin'" Carroll thought Bills would run 50 times that game and played Jamal as Nickel LB all game! In 2022 Top 100? At 31 yrs of age? Can we pick another team....or sport - for him to win it?
  11. I believe it is for Mrs. Zach Ertz, we can fit her under cap without cutting another starter https://www.instagram.com/p/BTXYe9MD0c0/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=cbc32e45-8b4f-4c04-9aca-3078623fa9a6
  12. Agree here wholeheartedly. Perhaps the mods can create a sandbox virtual environment for @IronMaidenBills and @tylerbillsfan33 as a public service to rest of board and so they can have their "special place"
  13. I want to ask Lonnie (looks like Tarzan plays like Jane) Johnson what he was thinking here:
  14. Williams only played in regular season finale vs Dolphins. While he posted 5.25 YPC and 2 TDs and had a nice 20 yd catch, the Fins really quit in that game. Fins were down 28-6 at the half and gave up another 4 TDs in the 2nd half to lose 56-26. . So not sure the above stats have any real merit as they all happened in 2nd half of a blowout
  15. Directly from the Pittsford website, "The Town of Pittsford is located in the southeastern portion of Monroe County in upstate New York. Rochester is the closest metropolitan area and is approximately eight miles to the northwest". Definitely not part of City of Rochester, Pittsford is an upscale bedroom community with a Clarence, Orchard Park or East Aurora feel to it. Second wealthiest zip code in Rochester area.
  16. It's easy to see a young, inexperienced DE and be concerned ala Maybin #2. A couple items to note. This kid is 3" taller and carrying 30-35 more lbs on his frame and at 21 may not be done filling out. Rousseau is a Speed to Power rusher who can do two things Maybin never could - beat Double teams and seal the edge. An added benefit is Rousseau can move inside on 3rd down and Bills can use Mario and Jerry outside with this kid and Ed Oliver inside for a Turbo package 4 man rush ala 2007 Giants. Pressure - especially up the middle - is a killer. Using Epenesa and Rousseau inside also puts a 6'6" player and 6'7" player into a QBs middle of the field quick hit passing lanes. With the Bills DBs and LBs playing a QB facing zone D, tipped passes have a high probability of being picked off. So even if they don't sack or pressure a QB to throw it away, these 2 tall DEs playing inside on passing zones could knock down or tip a couple passes per game.
  17. BoSox song - the Pats Influence is strong with this one
