A poor man's Patterson (Laviska Shenault Jr.)
freddyjj replied to filthymcnasty08's topic in The Stadium Wall
If 4 catches for 40 yds and 1 rush for 4 yds is a go to player then you would be correct. I would expect much better to trade for him. -
A poor man's Patterson (Laviska Shenault Jr.)

Lets look at his combine scores to start. Slow 40 for a WR, especially a gadget guy. Did not do agility drills due to lingering injuries. He was used at all 3 WR positions at Colorado but has not shown same position flexibility in NFL. Basically a slow footed slot WR. Not a hybrid RB like Samuel or Patterson. 0 TDs last year. No ST return ability. Would have trouble getting on the field here. -
Non-football Football Sunday Div. Round Oilers @ Bills 1988
freddyjj replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just watched and saw Oilers fumble the punt inside of 2 mins. So Bills had blocked punt, blocked FG and fumble recovery on STs. Also had 2 missed FGs. Man the Bills offense was anemic in 1988 -
Non-football Football Sunday Div. Round Oilers @ Bills 1988

Went to this game and sat at midfield 20 rows up behind Bills bench. The group behind us were all dressed in Oilers garb - Mike Munchak's family. He was an All Pro guard for Houston. The only play I remember is a blocked punt by Bills -
Would be a no for me. At $5mm per year Gates would be in top 50% of league by position. Can't see someone giving him this on 5 games worth of film. Bills could have assured a 2nd rd pick by offering him $4mm and chose not to. Have to believe that OBD feels confident they can keep him at a cost acceptable to them.

Star released. Pre-6/1 per Joe B, $1.5M cap savings.
freddyjj replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was Vic Carrucci and he said it was via an insider at Colts HQ. He implied it was not a Frank Reich move but owner interference. -
Can someone make sure he gets the locker space next to Shaq Lawson

Was listening to Sirius NFL network around 11:30 am today. They stated the Colts cutting Wentz was directly related to his choosing to not get Covid Vaccine. And that Irsay the owner drove decision. Makes me wonder if their antivax positions and subsequent loss of games played by Star, Beasley and Feliciano led to their releases. -
RIP John. A gentleman in a profession sorely lacking in them.

Benjamin and Corey Coleman were trades for WRs when we had none - worse than FA signings imho -

I will say Poyer and Hyde. Pressure equals bad throws equals INTs. The more the merrier. -
Cutting Star Lotulelei- why not ask him to retire?
freddyjj replied to Commish's topic in The Stadium Wall
We restructured him prior to 2020 guaranteeing his next 2 years base salary. As he opted out in 2020 that year did not count. So he has a cap hit of $7.7mm made up of $5.1mm guaranteed base and $2.6mm prorated signing bonus. This is the predicament. Per NFLPA agreement When a player is released (or retires), the team is relieved of having the pay the player's base salary (P5) and any Roster Bonus that may become due after that, but still will need to account for any Signing or Option Bonus prorations that haven't yet counted against the Salary Cap. -
I am at a loss here. Does this mean we play a 4-3 as our base now because our front 4 is better? Wouldn't we be inclined to stay with our base nickel even more so?

Really a weak player. Smallish to be a border CB. He has only 25 starts with 2 teams with poor pass defenses. MIN didn't elect to re-sign at end of first contract and have decided to pass on him again after 1 yr deal. And CIN let him go after 10 starts in 2020. Its a pass for me.

Buffalo Bills are reportedly interested in DE Chandler Jones

LOL. Nothing was worse than the Bryant Johnson watch aka the Panda Watch! Dude wound up with career catch total of 319 for 3948 yds and 16 TDs. Career catch rate was only 49%!!! Over a 9 year career! Man Diggs will blow those #s away in his 1st 3 Years as a Bill, already has 18 TDs, 230 catches and 2760 Yds! -
Levi Wallace gone to the Steelers on 2-year deal
freddyjj replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just realized Levi had 6 regular season career picks with 2 of those vs Steelers. Recency Bias? Either qway they stole him here. Given Cap situation at OBD I believe CB2 and WR 3 will come to Bills via draft Rds 1 and 2. -

Guess this is the $7.7mm everyone says we would have to eat.

My guess is 6-1 so we can get Edmunds off the field on run downs 😎

worked for the Rams! The baddest men in the whole damn town Badder than old King Kong And meaner than junkyard dogs

He has not returned a punt as a pro and only 23 in college where he was nothing special. 3 pro teams have decided not to let him even try. Might be worth a try on KOs only. Interesting WFT never let him return these either. No returns since 2019 and only a career 19 YPR average

Ok we will see if Hall as a pro > McKissic Remember OBD only gave out $2-3mm per year with no draft pick for McKissic and will likley have the 1 year escape hatch in contract. And a key element is OBD is looking at 2022 performance for the 2nd RB on this team And we have Singletary already. If no Motor I could see the need for Hall being greater.

Ok I will bite, so where does Breece Hall go in the draft in your estimation?
