Beane loves flea markets.
-
Beane is gonna make a few calls and sign AJ Klein next week to keep everyone happy
-
Yeah we’re fine, we have given up 105 points in 3 playoff loses. We also gave up 22 second half points against the Texans in that other loss…. 16-0 doesn’t mean ***** if you keep losing the same way in playoffs.
-
I get we don’t have money but year after year we are trotting the same players on the field. Now we are doing it because these guys are giving us a discount. Yippee!!!! We know what these guys bring to the table in January and how the stand up against the teams we are trying to beat. Nothing really has changed so I don’t know how you think this team will be better. Who even knows what we’ll get out of Von after his injury.
-
That’s part of the problem, the upgrade was suppose to be the guys Beane has been drafting for this D the past few years. Wasting picks and wasting money on guys who have proven they can’t help us get over the hump in playoffs. At this point I don’t know if we signed a player that can actually help this team move forward. And I’m putting zero faith in what they do in the draft because it’s been such a disappointment since Allen was picked
-
Exactly. Signing the same guys over and over again is not getting the job done in playoffs. In the 3 playoff games that knocked us out we have given about a 100 points. Maybe more
-
Same result in playoffs
-
Bills are just treading water until they eventually sink. Same guys every year that can’t get the job done against the teams we will face in playoffs. It’s like they’re terrified to tiniest step back. McD picks these same guys over guys he drafted just because they have more experience. Bills gonna have the same ending as the past 3 years, our D not showing up in the biggest game.

Good perspective on how good we were last year
BananaB replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
We had Daboll and the outcome was the same. Blew a huge lead against the Texans, gave up almost 40 against KC the first time then over 40 the second time. Against the Bengals our O played bad but our D was pitiful again. We’re wasting all our high picks on D, they shouldn’t be folding come playoff time. -

They not taking care of business come playoff time is an issue. Glad McD is taking over the D because at this point I think if it happens next year you gotta start thinking about an offensive minded HC. Every time they get put out the D is a major factor to why. -

It does seem like every time we play in these games we are the team slipping. Looked that way earlier in the season when we played Miami. Looked that way when the Colts thrashed us the year before. -
Brandon Beane Set To Double Down on 2022’s Big Disappointments
BananaB replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Having Gabe and Spencer not perform to expectations aren’t as big of deal as what’s going on with the defense. Sure it sucks because their weaknesses showed, but the guys we drafted for the defense are contributing even less than Gabe and Spencer. They were higher picks too. Problem is the mistakes on D are forcing them to neglect the O every year. Josh Allen is amazing, we know that and they know that. He can hide a lot of weaknesses that McD can’t and McDs weaknesses are apparent in the biggest games. -
Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?

I agree with ya. To be honest, I don’t have trust in this staff drafting a player we can lean on this season. -

Bills waste our picks on D, brutal they don’t make much of an impact. -
I don’t understand your point because Williams is still more consistent and more productive. Are you trying to say it’s ok for Gabe because Mike has a few bad games as well? Its not. Williams has a handful of bad games during the season while Gabe has a handful of good ones. They are basically opposites. Still a very bad comparison
-
Mike Williams is another inconsistent WR. The thing is, he has more highs than he does lows and Gabe is the opposite. Mike has 5 games under 70 yards to Gabes 10, 5 games under 50 yards to Gabes 9, and 5 games under 40 to Gabes 8…. Mike wasn’t held for under 70 yards in back to back weeks all season where Gabe was held under 50 in back to back games numerous times. At the end of the season he had was held under 60 yards for 6 straight weeks, and he only eclipsed 40 twice over that stretch. To be honest, looking this over this is just another poor comparison.
-
Do you not know what consistency is? If a guy has one big game then a bunch of below average games, does that big game cancel out the below average ones? In my opinion I don’t think it does and I’m sure the majority of people will agree with me. I’m not dismissing the yards, I’m looking at every game to see where he got those yards.

When Davis is a multiple threat like Deebo I’ll turn my head. Do Julio Jones and Adams have it for last season, or career? Nice try though. Julio has also been on his last leg for a couple years now. When Gabe faces double coverage like those two have during their career you let me know how it goes. And I don’t give two ***** about Courtland Sutton or Moore. I also noticed Adams had his first two years in his mid 50s then improved while Davis had his first two year in mid 50s then decreased. So what are you going on about? Give me some good examples.
-
You don’t think consistent WRs are more productive, long term I bet you’re wrong. If you’re not consistent and can’t be counted on you’re not gonna last long, why do you think Gabe is such a hot topic this off-season. Gabe got good yards and TDs but from game to game he’s below average. One blowout game he surpassed his average yards by 3x. How often does that happen? Once a year if he’s lucky. Does that make the other games less significant because he put up nice numbers in a blowout? His inconsistencies stalled drives, missed points and led to some turnovers. The overall numbers don’t mean ***** if you can’t be average on a game to game basis, and he wasn’t. Gabe was lucky the Bills had absolutely no other options last year to put in his spot. He was 186th in catch percentage, that’s just ***** terrible.
-
So Gabe is consistently under 50 while Higgins is over. Sounds right, Gabes as inconsistent as you can get.
-
I had high hopes for both, thought they both had proven they could make the jump. I was wrong and I noticed that early in the season.
-
Gabe has had more opportunities than most at this point in his career. Bills put a lot of faith in him and he was a disappointment. 55% catch rate just ain’t good enough for your #2 WR. This was his year to take a big step forward and he didn’t get it done. Heading into year 4 he kind of is who he is at this point, you can’t expect him to get much better.

Bills Draftees Don't Contribute Much
BananaB replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Early in a rebuild our young players got a lot of playing time, recently not so much. Which sucks because the guys playing ahead of them haven’t been good enough to keep some of them on the bench. And Gabe never got all kinds of playing time because he was so good, it was because John Brown missed half the season. The next year we brought in old man Sanders to replace Brown and Gabe had to sit behind him. To be honest, I thought Gabe deserved more time that year but McD loves his vets so Sanders maintained that roll until he got injured.
