3 drops on 4 drives

Is Gabe Davis gonna get the doghouse treatment like Cook.

Bigger mistake was not bringing another guy in in the first place. No one would give much for Gabe.

Ben Solak (The Ringer) Analysis of Josh's Decisions this Year
BananaB replied to JohnRVA's topic in The Stadium Wall
To be honest I thought, how easy would it be for Josh if all his WRs had 4 yards of separation like the Bengals WRs. -
I’m not sure who the replacement should be but I think we need an offensive minded guy though. I really don’t focus on much other football than the Bills these days. The O has a few good players but is mostly put together with scraps and the D is built with aging vets past their prime with a couple young guys that show some promise. This is not a recipe to maintain success moving forward. Is this year the collapse or is it next year? At some point with all these vets carrying major rolls they are just gonna have to say ***** it and completely reload though. Then we’re back to the same cycle of D getting every resource they need to be successful while O takes the leftovers

The D gave up 14 points on the first two drives, both came off kickoffs. You can’t complain about them being tired on the first two drives. And after the INT if you want to complain about the D being tired it’s because they couldn’t get off the field the first two drive. To be honest I’m sick of hearing about the banged up D. McD and Beane spent 4 1st and 2nd round picks on DLineman in 3 years then had to go out and bring in vets to do their job. They used a first on a CB who’s inactive so they had to go out and trade for another. That’s a coaching problem when you can’t get the best out of your players. Way too much resources have gone into this D, when the game is on the line they never ***** get the job done. I’m not happy about the O either. Line sucks and we again can’t run the ball. How many RBs have Beane and McD went out and drafted/signed/traded for and still get the same results. Someone on the staff gotta be accountable for this. We have a great QB and haven’t selected a WRs above the 4th round since he’s been drafted. Well I guess you can consider Diggs trade but that’s it. Unit has been neglected for years, that’s a staff problem and McD is the head guy. Funny thing is the O matched the Bengals first drive but instead of continuing with what worked they changed concepts, who’s decision was that? Everything comes back to McD.

The same D gave up 21 in the first half. And 5 first quarter TDs in 3 games against the same team in less the one calendar year. It could have been 6 if the other game didn’t get cancelled. All those drives took alot of the clock as well. I’ve seen numerous games where the Bengals come out hot and then slow down as game goes on, so you sure it’s McDs D or the way the Bengals approach holding a lead. When the Bengals needed to close out the game, where was McDs D?
-
You hardly see Diggs and Allen not on the same page but for Davis and Allen it’s the opposite. I think that’s why it’s hard to say it’s Allen’s fault. If this was happening with a lot with all the WRs you could start pointing fingers at Allen as well, but it really doesn’t, it’s mostly just with Gabe.

National media are starting to grind their collective axes

They get embarrassed by Cinci every time they step on the field with them. 3 games, 5 first quarter scoring drives that chewed up clock. Looked like it would have been 6 if the Damar incident never happened. ***** hard to watch, you think McD would have a better answer then just trying to slow down his own offense. -
Is media day pushed back because we play on Monday?
-
Is it just me or in most of these clips Gabe comes open after Allen has already released the ball?
-
Terrified might not be the best word but he’s definitely reluctant to play younger players. Shows in the slow development of our players. We draft Dlineman because we have a weakness, McD limits their playing time and sticks with the guys that forced them to make these picks. McKenzie was terrible last year and we had to wait until injury before we seen Shakir. Same could be said about Dane and Elam last year. Dane ***** sucked. I think at one point McD went to a rotation at CB, how many times you ever see that.

Belichick can’t find a starting QB so it’s gonna be the nail in his coffin. A lot of his success had a lot to do with Brady, but that team was constantly changing, it was a big part of his success. Systems changed on both sides of the ball and players changed. He was not scared to let go of pricey veterans and move on to younger players. It was a big reason why the maintained the winning culture for so long. McD is the opposite. Nothing changed, he’s terrified to use younger players and the vets are hardly making an impact. We been running close to the same roster for 3 years.

Moving forward you have aging players on D and younger ones that they can’t get consistent play out of so what’s gonna happen? More picks for D and more money spent in FA. Without Allen this team would be on the verge of tanking and completely rebuilding -
Finding the QB is much harder than finding the coach.

McDermott answers why we stopped uptempo offense
BananaB replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we are in for a rebuild on D shortly which isn’t gonna help things going forward. -
I’m glad I didn’t get fooled on this one. Beane has whiffed on too many O players to buy into two guys with a combined 9 years experience and less than 150 catches between the two. To make it worse one of them is 5’6”.

People who complain about this should get tickets behind our bench and see if what you see on tv is all that goes on. Josh comes off the field and there is normally a commercial break then it goes back to the game. You see a few seconds of a 3 hour broadcast. I see a lot guys sitting down, see some standing, who ***** cares.
-
You want to blame the offense but you should be blaming the coaches. The same ***** that worked for the O in the 4th quarter was same ***** that worked the first drive. The controlled offense that we have been struggling for weeks was what McD wanted after the Bengals walked down the field on the second drive. Both sides of the ball are struggling. McD is more concerned about the defense being rested than our O scoring points. The D gave up 3 points in the second half but gave up 21 in the first, they all count. If they did better on the first two drives maybe McD wouldn’t have tried to slow the offense down.
-
He left the field and they were up against the Pats. Bigger question is why can’t our defensive minded D get a stop when needed. Needed one against Jacksonville, never got it. Needed one against Pats, never got it. Needed one against the Bengals, never got it. Needed one against Giants and got pretty ***** lucky. This offence can put up points, it has been shown in every game. Too bad the HC ain’t willing to go with what works, instead wants to go with a different style that better fits his complimentary football. He’s living in the stone ages of football. Faster he’s gone the faster this team starts taking steps forward again.

Previous coaches never had Josh Allen. That’s a huge difference. McDermot might not be here if we didn’t have Allen

The crazy thing about this the past for the last month it’s like they couldn’t make adjustments in game to get the O rolling. Then when the O looks like it’s got something going they adjust out of it. 🤦🏼♂️ -
Simms: Gabe Davis is a good player, but he's not a number two
BananaB replied to SydneyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have players right now that physically can’t get the job done. The ones that been here for a period time do not get sat despite their struggles. It’s just how it is Seniority rules
