This is my take also. This video was very helpful in breaking down what happened. This team was getting 2 deep coverages, taking away the big play, and Brady and the FO made a strategy for that both with scheme and personnel, running the ball and going underneath. Now teams have tape on the Bills offense and came up with a new strategy, with one high and man coverage, especially since our less-than-stellar WR core can’t beat man. This is the chess game that goes on every NFL season, where teams make game plans against other teams once they have tape. I’m glad this is happening now, because I am certain this team will just get better from this, finding ways to counter the strategy the Ravens and Texans used. This happens to even team, and the best ones learn and find ways to adjust.

I would say a 2nd rounder is good compensation at this point in his career. The bad part of the trade is all the dead cap space. Who knows, maybe Beane is about to swing for the fences and trade up for a receiver in the draft.

There are more factors to signing a player than just what you see on tape. Beane has friends inside the Panthers he trusts, which is why the Bills sign players from the Panthers. Just because the Panthers are a bad team, doesn't mean every player coming from them is worthless.

now that I've seen the video above, I have to agree....... Lame. LOL I guess this goes in the category of, "better than nothing." Personally, I miss the original kickoff, especially when you had a return man who could always bust one, but that's life.

I can understand the decision to retire from any player who goes through an injury like that. If you really think about it, coming back and playing after being carted off the field in an ambulance is nothing short of amazing. Not only from the logical standpoint of risking your health, but also just playing with that PTSD every week.

I would argue that the "good rosters" are largely a product of the coaching staff's ability to develop players and help them play to their highest level. That's actually the largest indication of good coaching. Fans think coaching is only play calling and clock management. Those things are important too, but the real work the coaches do is in practice.

depends on how you look at it. It's a great signing for them at that price IMHO. I'm surprised he didn't get more. Directly, did we get worse? I would say probably since he has always been a great and steady player for us at C. Indirectly? we needed that cap space, which we need for now and the future. And the unknown part is how Conner McGovern will perform at C. When we lost Tremaine Edmunds we thought we'd have a significant drop off, and then enter Terrel Bernard who surprised us all.

Seems to be this year is all about getting younger. I'm not sure we see many aging veterans pulled in, even if they're former probowlers and cheap. Better to stick a young guy in there and let him take his lumps.
