Taylor -- 106.7 rating today
Stank_Nasty replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this cant be serious.... its got to be sarcasm, as taylor was obviously the one dropping them in smoothly to clay. right?.... he's got to be kidding around -
I'm a Taylor Fan........ But again 213 yards passing

the bolded made me chuckle and its spot on. -
well the Tolbert one is a none issue becuz on the next play it was a td pass. and on the play the jones one is a none issue becuz it was caught anyways.

I agree. I mean...... can anyone think of a wr corp worse than this one at the moment? a lumbering slot wr on one side and rookie with what looks to be a case of the dropsies on the other. YUCK. -
the problem is he has to maintain control throughout that movement and the turn up the field even if he was crossing the goal line... he didn't.
-
he's being sarcastic. he routinely bags on him and said the other day he'd take siemian over him.
-
also thought this was any easy call that they got right. the final replay they showed at the stadium cleared it up pretty well. my buddy sitting beside me was a broncos fan and agreed it wasn't a catch. I just wasn't really surprised by either play. I thought they got them right. I was glad he didn't. if you understand the rules of what a catch needs to be now it was a clear incompletion.... that comes off as me being a know it all. but it seemed really clear to me.
-
it most definitely wasn't a clear td. he didn't maintain control throughout his football move and turn up field. it would have easily been upheld.
-
everybody hates it becuz if you use it, it doesn't fit into the "tyrod sucks" analysis. sarcasm aside.... I think it may take into accounts downs and distance maybe but I don't know about if it takes "when" it happened into account or stuff like that. its quite mysterious.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Now, That's What I'm Talkin' About&#
Stank_Nasty replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
reading #8 and recalling it literally gave me chills and made my arm hairs stand on end.... there were times yesterday where I must admit I actually stayed quiet before the snap just so I could soak in what you just mentioned. my mom isn't really a football fan but has always watched and paid attention to the bills becuz of my love for them. my wife and I took her to her first game yesterday and she just smiled ear to ear the whole time. when we were done she said there were very few events in her life that gave her that many chills and overpower her senses and emotions like that game did. really cool really fun day to share with her. lots of cocky broncos fans there yesterday. you would have thought they were already the AFC champs after last weeks beat down of dallas if you paid attention to the media..... what a satisfying game to be in attendance -
could we please not ignore who they have to throw to here?...... you've conveniently avoided that small detail.
-
right and one has a top 5 wr duo to throw to while the other has Matthews and a rookie with a case of the drops. no point in trying to talk to that dude. his mind is made up..... and he looks like a damn fool

The Dennison Run Attack
Stank_Nasty replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've thought over the first 2 games the run game was extremely vanilla. even vs the jets I thought it was predictable..... I think his run philosophy is based off having an offense that can threaten through the air to loosen up the ground game. ...... and its pretty evident this pass offense isn't gonna loosen anything up for anyone. -
Does Rick's offense really utilize "burner" WRs?

Johnson basically had the ability to do whatever the hell he wanted... such a shame he was stuck in Houston on a bad team most of those years. never got anything close to the credit he deserved. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Off and Running
Stank_Nasty replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was there and I didn't really notice it until you pointed it out in your initial post. definitely just 60,000 people basically racing to their cars to get out of there and get home.... very business trip like. for me though it had more to do with the fact that we played what looks to be an awful team. I went in knowing there wasn't really much they could do while beating them that would get me all too excited. -
I cant believe people are losing so much sleep over gillislee... really like the guy. real nice backup. didn't do anything last night that was overly impressive. you don't think the pats could have found 10-15 other guys to fill that role? he had 3 td's from inside the 2. are we really losing our minds over that? why? we've got McCoy, and apparently enough confidence in the rest of the crew to let Williams walk after an impressive preseason. Tolbert could very easily do EXACTLY what td mike did last night. I don't get the uproar. its a waste of energy
-
i was much more annoyed about how the narrative changed at the beginning of the 4th quarter from collinsworth riding the pats D*** the whole time to him making excuses for the defense just becuz hightower went down. good lord it was all he talked about. dude...... injuries happen. get over it. basically all we heard about the whole 4th quarter from the booth was how the defense was giving up 42 points becuz of one freaking LB going down. it was ridiculous. it couldn't just be becuz brady played like crap and the defense was getting gashed. nope. they were getting beat becuz a linebacker went down. good lord.

In the defense of Tyrod Taylor...

In the defense of Tyrod Taylor...
Stank_Nasty replied to Do The Reich Thing's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you're 100% right. no excuses for it. it was bad..... but people overreacting about preseason week 2, as if its the indicator of how the season will go, look really really silly.... could we not hang our arguments for either side of the fence on week 2 of the preseason? good lord people. -
it sucked. it was a bit worrisome. but i feel like we know what tyrod is at this point. its not what was on display last night. its most definitely not anything great, but its just not as bad as last night either. if the defense actually is improving like it seems to be and tyrod shows up week 1 as the guy he's been the first 2 years i think they have a real shot at winning more than they lose. and then you still have enough ammo with current and future picks to go get the qb you want for a winning squad..... thats exciting to me. even with a history of going to bat for tyrod, i cant pretend like the thought of peterman getting time with the 1's wouldnt intrigue me.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - The Brandon Beane Era Begins
Stank_Nasty replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I may be picking nits here but I think you coulda picked way better examples for teams that havnt won with great wr's..... while these guys havnt won titles think back to some of the reasons for their teams success.... think back to any cards playoff win and then look at how fitz performed. the guy is unreal in big games. I don't think it can be debated that jones is one of the main reasons the falcons were in the title game. heck the guy even made an unreal catch in that superbowl that should have sealed up the game at the time. to use those 2 names as the argument for "unimportant" may not have been the best choice. i'm not even disagreeing that wr's aren't all that important. but its pretty obvious those 2 have been MAJOR parts of any success those teams have had recently. each team was within minutes/seconds of a title becuz of them. -
RODAK: Watkins Trade Sets Up TT To Fail
Stank_Nasty replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
nelson started all 16 games last year..... and using one of the best of all time for your argument isnt the best example I don't think. nobody is expecting taylor to be that good but its pretty well known as long as he has his starters in there he can be a real solid qb. -
Go on record regarding the trades
Stank_Nasty replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i don't have issues with people liking the trade..... but I find it absolutely absurd that people are fooling themselves into thinking there isn't any drop off in the immediate future. Matthews/gaines = Watkins/darby??? you gotta be freaking kidding me. open your freaking eyes.
