Let's hope its not Rudolph

but then again he could end up outperforming every qb in this class...except probably mayfield. -

i'm guessing he will get 20 mil. and go to whoever offers the longest/most guaranteed contract. maybe he ends up in buffalo, who knows.... i'd draft both. the reason i wouldn't mind rudolph is because it saves our picks. i would prefer mayfield if possible, but if it's not doable... i want vita vea with one of those firsts. -

what's changed is that they would have to pay him franchise money vs. giving up a 2nd round pick. -

true, but if they go qb at one and turn no.4 into 2 starters, i'd think they'd make that deal....and if i did have to give them a second, it would have to be next year's. -

well they own the no.1 pick and since that deal did fall apart they're gonna have to pay through the nose to get him in a browns uni....imo -

however, a great move would be 21/22 plus tyrod to the browns for no.4. the browns get darnold at 1 and a bridge with 2 quality picks to get more talent and we get mayfield. -
Bears looking set to release Glennon
billsredneck1 replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
thought e.j. was no. 3 on that chart...i may be wrong. i do however remember that off season with it being such a loaded class...geno, nassib, ej., barkley, glennon etc...and nobody was right -

it is ironic that glennon is the only one left standing out of that class....... -

and....if they do move up and get rosen or mayfield, they may think that with another camp and preseason that we will be ok with starting nate until the rookie is ready. they can also draft a project qb in the later rounds. they could save a ton of money by not overpaying an oft injured or mediocre backup to be a bridge....which all will be overpaid due to the bidding of qb needy teams. that money could be a huge factor for free agent pickups. i know i'll get flamed for being a peterman supporter but could care less. i see talent in the kid. his outings could not have possibly been under worse conditions or circumstances. he's quick, accurate, has great ball placement and well enough grounded to bounce back from the adversity....and asinine play calling. look at the last few minutes of that saints game. that's what i believe he is capable of every week. if this defense performs at the very least to the level of last year and we have healthy receivers, he will score points and we will win games.( i don't care about the fact that he's a 5th rounder...our starter was drafted lower.) unless they somehow get foles or mc carron, this is what i think they will do. it makes sense even if they stand pat and take rudolph. -
How to build the Bills into a Champion
billsredneck1 replied to Tatonka68's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
we should go find the best fa rt that we possibly can and draft a center. dawkins/richie/groy/miller/vet rt is not an awful line. as a matter of fact they could probably shoot way up the rankings if they don't have to pass pro for 5+ seconds wondering where the hell the qb is. that being said , with a good ota and camp, i think peterman can give us a goff type performance. -
i'm absolutely fine if they take rudolph in the 1st. if they get vita vea, a good lb or edge rusher and the d takes even a minor step up....and our receivers are healthy...with hopefully a speedster addition, i am fine with starting nate and getting mason acclimated. if we get the front 4 a boost and the rec. corp in tact, nate will get us 10-6 no problem. the days of 3 point scoring games are finally gone. ity's gonn a be a great year!

i would bet money that they take a qb at no.2. why wouldn't they want to set themselves up perfectly to pass on from eli in a couple of years, ie. brady/jimmy g. they would be nuts to take a rb at 2 and trading down i don't think would help them....enough. imo browns are staying at one...nyg staying at 2...indy staying at 3. it's possible cle. moves down from 4, but if they get darnold, they can also take barkley. denver at 5 is the wild card. they have mayfield and allen staring at them...or maybe they take our 2 firsts and tt to let us get ahead of the jets and get mayfield. this is the only plausible scenario where i see we can trade up and get mayfield. my gut says, we go fa or stand pat at 21 or trade for foles.
-
my biggest measure of any qb, especially college to nfl prospects is td to int. ratio. therefore i am perfectly fine with with standing pat in the draft and taking rudolph at 21...or 22. 6'5" 230 senior 4 yr. starter....improved every year. 4904 yds in 2017 with 37 tds and 9 ints. ....10ypa. the only way i trade up is to get mayfield. but, no way i give up 3 firsts or any other picks from this year 21,22 plus tt or glenn is as far as i go when it comes to moving up in the draft. of course my first course of action would be to give one of the firsts for foles. but staying with only draft scenarios, i would be ecstatic with rudolph and vita vea. maybe then go bpa lb and washington, mason's speedy teammate. then i concentrate in the 3rd on bpa center/guard and edge rusher. then i pick my rb/cb and possibly another qb like riley ferguson or the best of whoever falls. this is all predicated solely on the draft and of course things can/ will change with free agent pickups.
-
i don't think he is either. i really think in his second year he can produce like geoff...for example. that's why i'm ok if they wait and take rudolph in the 1st. would be nice if it happened in the 2nd, but doubt he'll last that long. and...if they do take him, they can also target another project qb later such as a white, falk or ferguson. if they feel they can have success with a young stable of qbs, they can really make hay filling holes with the rest of the draft and fa.
-
that trade would make sense and not give up too much. however , assuming darnold goes one, i'd still take mayfield over rosen. i just don't feel rosen is going to live up to the hype....or last long before injury...or is the kind of guy that can overcome adversity or criticism. i think baker is a buffalo guy.

i've already mentioned several times that my first move would be to get foles and i'd use 22 to do it. i of course would be thrilled to get cousins, but that would probably take divine intervention. the only qb i would trade up for is mayfield, but we would need to get in front of the jets...unless of course they go fa. however, i can also see standing pat because i do like rudolph. if we can get him and vita vea, i'd be fine with that. they can also use picks/players to move back up a little to maybe get davenport. hughes/star/vea/ lawson-davenport would be a pretty formidable front. plus rotating washington/williams/davis and yarborough for depth instantly gives us one of the best dlines in the league. i also think that no matter where we get a qb in the draft that i am ok with peterman taking the starting role after having a second off season and camp to improve. i think he can give us a geoff type performance. i expect our defense to take a step up. i expect healthy wide receivers with additions and improvement on the oline also. i think nate can give us a 10-6 and i'd put money on it. i would not overspend for a bridge.

indy is not going to trade that 3rd pick. they want bradley chubb, according to an interview i heard on wgr yesterday. that being said there's no way i'd give up 3 1sts and then some to get rosen at 2. i recently read an article where it showed rosen as quite willing to express his social views. in this one particular piece he expressed much disrespect for the president with generalized, uninformed liberal views. to me he seems like a california thin skinned lib, that will also likely be injured often. i agree with the poster who called him a possible jay cutler...at best. i don't see that as a fit in buffalo. the only qb i trade up for is mayfield. tough, competitive and full of passion for the game. i myself would rather give up 22 for foles and then take a qb they like somewhere after. or, as far as trading up, i would go both 1sts and tt or glenn to denver for 5 and chad kelly. get a good ken dorsey type for qb coach and go with nate, baker and chad as a stable upcoming talented young guns. it's a process.

Joe Buscaglias take on the QB situation
billsredneck1 replied to Seanbillsfan2206's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i would be happy with rudolph and vea. -
if i were gm, these are the scenarios i would look at....assuming cousins is gone. 1. i would trade 21 for foles. vita vea no. 22 2. i would trade both firsts and glenn to indy for 3 and take mayfield. 3. if for some reason we can't get mayfield (at 3 or 4),with the 2 firsts and a tt/glenn deal..... i draft vita vea at 21...rudolph at 22, then go bpa the rest of the way and try to also turn tt/glenn into picks or player/picks trade. ( i left out a.j. mc carron because i think he will end up as a rfa and be tendered to high to pony up for.) if all else fails, and i can get vita vea and davenport with 21/22, then i can get a mike white in the 2nd. hire a ken dorsey type for qb coach and roll with peterman as the starter. yes, i still believe he could at least be an alex smith. these next 2 months are gonna be crazy.
-
everybody seems to have an opinion and thinks they are right. i would take my own guesses here ,but i'll stick with what i know will be for sure..... things will go as nobody predicted. trades will be made. the draft order will be scrambled. the fo will do something that no one saw coming. then we go to ota's. all i know is that my hope and expectation for this team this year is nothing short of commanding a wc spot if not take the division...(thank you nick foles!)....

In-Depth Breakdown of Lamar Jackson by Eliot Crist
billsredneck1 replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems to me to be too much of a whaley kind of pick for me...i want a break from the tyrod style. would be nice to see nfl caliber qb play on this team for once. one more win last year and we walk into the playoffs. score more than 10 points in 4 qtrs and we advance in the playoffs. if jackson fell to us in the 2nd then maybe...
