Cover 1:. 5 Reasons Lamar Jackson is the Bills Target
billsredneck1 replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i hear ya, it's parcells rules or nothing as far as i'm concerned with td/int being the most important. if nothing else, we should have learned that defenses have adapted to the mobile qb threat. jackson is lather, rinse, repeat. -

enter josh allen/lamar jackson. i don't get all the gloom and doom about the jets move. screw them. they have no front 7 so who knows is they don't go there...or want barkley to give them some offense. everybody seems to think they're gonna steal our franchise qb.....i don't...and if they do take rosen, big whoop, i think he'll noodle under the scrutiny of the big apple and probably wouldn't want to come to buffalo anyways. i believe we have a deal with the browns for no.4 depending on how things fall. if not, i just trust these guys....period. -

lol...the drunk bills fans were killing it until these guys came to town. made the old staff and coaches look lost. compared to them(brandon and whaley), most of us looked like vegas bookies. however this is the most exciting ,nail biting off season i can ever remember. i have been a fan since 73 and the sb years were great, but now i'm retired and i get to listen and read and soak in every little bills detail. i seriously need help i am so addicted. -
For all who want to trade up so bad
billsredneck1 replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i agree also although i'd rather put rudolph a bit ahead of tannehil because he had a ton more college experience and the johnny unitas award. -
it's obvious that you've done your homework on predicting the capabilities of our current qbs..... and btw ..it's peterman
-
based on our starting qb didn't make one ounce of improvement in 3yrs and we had one of the lamest passing attacks in the league. we could bring fitz back and he would look like an all pro compared to what we are used to seeing.

The Jets trade opens up Mayfield to Bills.
billsredneck1 replied to Bronxbomber21's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think after giving us what they did for tt and without making us pay the bonus, that there is already a deal made for no. 4. beane knows what gettleman is going to do and the jets trade makes it a moot point. good for the colts. they got some good picks. depending on what the jets do, that should leave us rosen or mayfield. they can't pick both....and may take neither, thinking so much of chubb....since they now have no dline that ,that's the reason they traded with indy. -
worse???? our passing game is going to at least double in production.
-
but there is nothing that convinces me that outside of maybe rosen, that a qb later like rudolph white, faulk could end up being better than darnold, allen or jackson. i would hope we can land mayfield because i think he's the best, but, i'm confident in a.j, nate and whoever they choose.
-
i think the browns will take darnold at 1. while i think the giants should take rosen at 2, they do have a high 2nd and 3rd round pick to find a qb so.... taking barkley at 2 makes a ton of sense for winning now. that's what i think they will do. as for the jets at 3, i think they will do something stupid. after signing bridgewater, my thinking is they take chubb to rebuild some sort of dline...and while that may be a good pick, they gave up much more... which leaves us at no.4 giving the browns our 1st next year for mayfield. i hope they get mayfield, but will be happy if they do stay at 12 and take vita vea and rudolph at 22. no matter, i have absolute trust and faith in this f.o.
-
didn't see this coming, but oh well. losing that draft capitol will bite them in the future. i am sure beane knows what gettleman's gonna do, so i'm not too worried about the giants blindsiding us by a trade out without giving us a shot. as for the jets, i could see them taking josh allen....or better yet, since they have teddy as a mentor they traded to make sure they get lamar jackson. btw, i still think we have a plan in place for no.4 with the browns.

thank you! hopefully that ends all the b.s. posts about why he's no good because he didn't take dalton's job. in another thread here recently, someone posted his 2015 highlights. while fairly impressive, my initial thought (and i posted this) was that nate peterman looks like that but with a quicker/sharper release. that doesn't mean i'm not starting a.j. by any means, just that i noticed what you mentioned. i think he will start (no matter who we draft) and will have us contending for the division lead throughout the year. very happy we got him. -
Whats up with EJ Gaines?
billsredneck1 replied to PirateHookerMD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i got the feeling from listening to the gm that they have to let him test the waters and have not given him a bottom line offer. i think he comes back. that would make a beautiful backfield and i'm sure beane feels that way. i'm betting he comes back. -

would you settle or comment on an ongoing argument here as to why a.j. never unseated dalton as the starter. i am of the belief that lewis did not want a qb controversy and dalton continuously took that team to the playoffs. would you shed some light on this? thanks. -

to the op: cordy's great when healthy and you got what a lot of people here overlook as THE LEAGUE'S LEADING TACKLER. now that he's playing at his home, you will be very happy to have him. i would have liked to keep him, but he get's to play for his hometown so good for him. i'm sure that will make him even better. our lack of push up the middle with the front 4 is why a lot of people are saying...meh. -
they are not going to give up this years picks nor will they have to... and even if someone moves to 2 for rosen so be it, he's not our fit anyways....which drops barkley to the colts..so no trade will be made there. they will take 65 back and next years 1st. beane is not going to deal all this year's picks. the giants are not going to deal the 2nd pick if they have rosen or barkley to pick from. the browns will take darnold no.1
-
i have my feelings on which way the bills will go in the 1st rd. i think they are prepared for a number of scenarios. i've heard all the interviews on the radio with mcbeane etc. my gut feelings are this... 1. as of the tyrod trade with cle. and getting the 1st pick in the 3rd, the bills have a tentative deal with the browns to move to no. 4. the browns got tt to give sam darnold time. the bills will give them back pick 65 and/or next years 1st to move to that spot and take mayfield. 2, the giants will take either rosen or barkley. they will not trade out of this spot. 3, . indy will not trade out of this spot if barkley falls to them. they also have their eyes on chubb. however, if they start getting suitors...which they will, mcbeane is prepared to offer next year's 1st and shaq lawson to get mayfield. 4. cle. they will move this pick with buffalo as per no.1 above. the bills get mayfield. 5. buffalo is stuck with pick 12. in this case, they can do a number of things. maybe josh allen is still there. maybe they take r. smith or vita vea. maybe they trade back and gain picks for this year or next. they could gain a 2019 1st if they go back far enough and draft rudolph at 22 plus keep almost all of their picks. this gm has his sh!!t together! not only do we have a qb in a.j. capable of having us compete for the division this year, but we also may land a future franchise guy as well. the absolute worst case scenario is that he kicks the hell out of this draft and really bolsters the roster. there is no losing out, no misses and every base is covered. these guys are genius in how they are handling things. i never would have dreamed that we'd go from brandon/ whaley incompetency to a first class run organization. i can't predict exactly how things will play out, but if i had to bet money, i would bet we get the no. 4 pick and take baker mayfield. we are without a doubt going to the playoffs this year and may very well end up with more than one capable starting qb that will land us huge dividends in the future. i have not been this excited since the sb years!

Wait a second...What About Shaq Lawson????
billsredneck1 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
that could happen and is a good idea. -
i listened to gr and 950all day. i cannot believe the ignorance displayed by so many so called fans. 1.)" if a.j. was so good...why didn't he unseat dalton?" well how about dalton was drafted and paid as a franchise qb and marvin lewis would not allow any qb controversy to occur. not to mention dalton took cincy to the playoffs almost every year since he was drafted...3 rounds higher. 2.) we could have just landed one helluva qb that could have us fighting for the division title this year. he is heads and above any qb we've had since kelly and that includes bledsoe. ....but people always have to make ignorant snark. 3.) i'm all for drafting mayfield....but just because we draft a qb in the 1st doesn't mean we have to throw a qb whose goin to be winning games under the bus just because he was drafted high. if he sits a year and then there's a competition, fine....not to mention that we didn't have to give a lot up to get us in the position we are in. tt for the 1st in the 3rd and cordy to move up 9 spots?....merry christmas to us. 4.) having a.j. doesn't mean we have to move up. josh allen will most likely be there at 12 if we want to take a project. my prediction all along has been that we will deal with the browns for no.4. the tt trade laid the groundwork, and the signs are obvious that's where we're heading. lastly...aj. could be that franchise type of qb that the front office feels fine staying at 12 and seeing what falls to us. maybe they take r. smith or vita vea( we need one more young stud dt) and take rudolph at 22. maybe if things fall a certain way , they trade back for more picks and possibly someone's next years 1st. either way, right now we have 12/22 vs 21/22 thanks to simply moving an oft injured lt. these guys got the bases covered. they are ready for any possible scenario. a.j. is going to turn out to be the steal of the year and put us on the map. we won't need a miracle for at least a wc spot. yet some posters( mainly the 3 year e.j.supporters and 3 yr.tt supporters) will criticize any move they make at qb. this staff has it together like i have never seen since polian/levy. i have never had so much faith and hope in this fo since the sb era. i am out of my mind excited to see what happens each and every day. thank you so much terry and kim!!!!

What ya'll are getting with AJ
billsredneck1 replied to RollBillsRoll's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
great post op, thanks. i have been wanting a.j. for quite some time and actually couldn't believe we passed him up in the draft. it was hard to believe guys in that draft fell so far. i also can't believe we got him on this contract. however, someone posted a 2015? highlight video and while it was impressive, my thought was that i can see nate playing like that and actually having a quicker release. i am not, nor would i even think about a.j. not being the unquestioned starter, but i do still hope we end up with baker mayfield. i say that because we could very well have 3 good qbs on the roster and a year or 2 down the road parlay one of them into a good deal. either way i am extremely happy he's here. -
Here is what is going to happen in the draft

if the browns take darnold and the giants take rosen, i would offer 12, shaq lawson and next yrs' 2nd with indy for mayfield. -
