  1. yep a.j. is our jimmy g. and i think nate will make it at least close to that status as well. while my likes in this draft are mayfield/rudolph, i'm getting the feeling that this team feels they have what they need at that position now and just because cordy got us up the order does not mean we are looking to trade up. i won't be surprised if they do and won't be if they don't. actually, after reading bios and stats of others like faulk/white and ferguson, i am pretty impressed. any of these guys could be stars. all i know is that i want to keep no.22. any trade up i hope involves next year's picks. this is the draft to build with.
  2. elway passing rosen for rudolph? i wouldn't think so....
  3. newhouse will be an upgrade at rt and the guy that started for 5 yrs. in cincy will also be fine. we will draft as well. our oline will be better.
  4. true but the best case scenario is to have a good vet starter and let the rookie get used to the nfl. ton of holes? ok we lost preston which most thought wasn't worth keeping. then we lost wood but groy and our fa will make it so we don't notice he's gone. then we lost gaines, but got davis and another gaines so nickel d shouldn't be bad. ok let's see...we signed star and murphy....added a center and starting rt. .....and we're far from done and the draft is coming. we have less holes than last year especially at qb. we will be fine. we will not take a step back...as a matter of fact ,this team will expect to win every time they step on the field.....not...well , if we get some turnovers and luck goes our way....the process is to kick ass!
  5. if you look at a.j.'s games you can see that he and nate have a lot in common. nate has a quick, sharp decisive release and that is gonna push a.j. to up his game. he will be fine and our passing game will be better than we've seen in 20 yrs. our schedule last year had fans poopin their pants, but we made it. they will add wr talent and a pass rush. we will be fine and command a wc or go neck and neck with the pats until dec. we are going to the playoffs!!!!!!! i would love to get baker, but would also be happy with rudolph. either way, we can afford to let a rookie sit a year and learn. right now, i'm confident in a.j.
  6. if we take ridley and vita vea...then rudolph/lauletta/white...... malik jackson/ washington and a good no.2 rb. we go 10-6 at worst. a.j. is gonna ball. he's our jimmy g
  7. but that's the thing, that would make the giants sit at 2. they would maybe take darnold over rosen as the heir apparent to eli. ....leaving the jets to take rosen or mayfield....which is cool because if the jets take rosen, maybe the browns are open to trading no.4 ...or the broncos decide to go with another player...ie. nelson...which puts mayfield in play at 6
  8. i listened to all the radio stuff today and it appears that the browns may in fact draft allen at one. it does make some sense in that they have tt and stanton to buy them the time to get him up to speed.....which puts us in a better spot for baker. however , again, i'm not in for a bidding war when i can possibly take rudolph. i'm sticking with my prediction. our 2018 qb corp. is a.j./nate and rudolph and i'd be damn proud of that. btw , i don't get all the poo on a.j. he could be just as good as jimmy g. i'm sick of all the b.s. of why didn't he unseat dalton...well maybe for the same reason jimmy g. didn't unseat brady. those orgs. were dedicated to their franchise guys that they were paying. on another point ....as well as jimmy g. looks, he didn't win two national championships at eastern ill.
  9. i think we need to sit tight til draft night. if baker falls to 6, we need to have a plan in place. if stupid bids come out of the woodwork, i want to take rudolph and keep our picks and maximize the draft. i think rudolph can have just as good of a future as any of the other qbs. as a matter of fact, if we can sit and get him at 12, i'd feel grateful.
  10. i'm going to make what i feel are realistic prediction(s)...or at least the 2 most likely scenarios 1. darnold 2. barkley 3 .rosen 4. chubb browns decide not to trade 5. allen 6. mayfield! we trade 12 /56 and pick from 2019 1. darnold 2. rosen 3. allen 4. barkley again the browns use this pick 5. mayfield 6. now what? will az and miami move up for jackson and rudolph? do we sit at 12 and take our chances? do we sit at 12,?... take bpa defense with 12/22 and go with a mike white/faulk etc.?......will the steelers and pats already have them scooped up? i can see these scenarios happening. hoping i'm wrong with the 2nd one, but with a.j and nate, i don't see us bending over and giving up the farm to go to no.2 in this case, i think we may be lucky to get rudolph at 12. i'd be ok with that as i think he could have as much success as any of the others.
  11. newhouse i believe.....should be a huge upgrade at rt.
  12. someone would probably take him before the end of round one if not jump us. i would take him at 12,vea at 22 and i think we can get v e in the 2nd. with pickled polish sausage and hard boiled eggs!
  13. that would be an awesome scenario, but i would still let him sit a year.
  14. i think that there is a similar skill set in that nate makes quick decisions and has a quick, sharp release with great ball placement. i think because of this ,it will make a.j. that much more focused and better. i don't see how anyone can predict a step back this year when our passing production is going to double and help the run game. i also expect twice the sacks next year. the guys on wgr right now are talking about our next yrs.' 1st will be high. i expect mid 20's or lower. i'm expecting north of say...12th. hopefully we get a good wr in the draft.....or 2
  15. which would be great. we'd only have to go up 2 spots to get ahead of the fish.....i don't trust them.
  16. excellent post! i really don't have anything worthy of adding to it.
  17. i haven't read all the posts yet but like john murphy, i don't like the term house money. those picks were for assets the we bought and paid for. they weren't just handed to us. i think there's a cut off point to what beane will give up. i also think there's a good chance cleveland keeps their no.4. if we do trade to 6, i could deal with that, but wouldn't be happy about having to give up the other 1st to do it.
  18. i wouldn't doubt the op and i do remember this going around. i never wanted mills to start the season. if he is on this team this year it will amazingly be what.....5 or better years since this team has done anything with that position? other than henderson, i can't even remember who our last rt was? pears? ....and is juan still here? does dabol have authority over line coaches?.....guess that's another subject.
  19. he has been off more often than right as far as i can remember. rosen is not going to be a bill. he will be out of reach and i don't think he's a fit or wants to come here. don't see it.
  20. lamar will end up in miami or az....just my gut feeling. not sure if it's at 11 or 15, but if we stay put, my money is on rudolph at 12. that's if there's a feeding frenzy on qbs right off the bat.. i myself would like a traditional pocket passer that can climb the ladder or have enough mobility to slide yet keep his eyes downfield. my 1st choice is mayfield if he slides, but no way i give up a ton of picks to move up. a.j. will be just fine. with nate and mason developing behind him, we could have one of the best stable of qbs in the league. i'm praying baker slides to us or we only have to move a couple of spots. we have the picks this year to add tons of talent to this team and i hope we keep and use every single pick we have. rudolph 12, vita vea 22. malik jackson and washington or chark with the 2's. god i can't wait til the draft!!!!
  21. they sure caught up to a 7 year vet in tyrod taylor. ....and when you have opposing defenses say"we made him play qb" and he gets 56 yds in an entire game, yeah ....sign me up for some more of that.....
  22. 2001 running qb took the league by storm/surprise...dynamic 2018 defenses have learned how to snuff that stuff out. end of discussion. see also 3yrs. of tyrod taylor. lamar jackson = pass we just signed a two time national champ with nfl playoff experience. why would we corner ourselves into having to have two entirely different offensive schemes. no thanks
  23. .....which is why we may have to pull the trigger at 12. if we wait til 22 there's a very good chance one of those teams jump us. if ...which i don't think rosen will make it past 5....but if he does, i could see az. giving up multiple 1sts and way more than we would pay to take him.
  24. i would be perfectly fine if they took a d guy with 12 and rudolph at 22. perfectly fine with me. i would prefer vita vea though. williams /washington/star/vea we can also kick shaq inside maybe on passing downs and have murphy on the end. we need to keep rebuilding this line 1st and foremost. they can get good lb play in the second or trade back up. imo
