i was freaking out because a 4-5 yd run gets either a 1st down or 3 pts. on the board and maybe stops the bleeding. i'm still hoarse from screaming.... the fact that he goes so far backwards, like a kid whose older brother(s) are about to beat his ass worries me. did he instantly forget down and distance/ field position? that right there's a bad, bad sign. i like the kid, but we've all seen this play before...no? -

Predict the Score: Titans at Bills
billsredneck1 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
what if they are getting shut out at home?...and allen's been getting hammered on all day and looks just like last week...and.... we are down 3 scores going into the 4th qtr. if you're mcd, what do you do? do you watch 15 more minutes of your woozy looking rookie get beat some more? tell him to hand off every play? or..... do you put nate in hoping to mount a couple of quick drives and try to win? do you concede another loss to "the process"? or do you do whatever it takes to try and get a w? that being said..... i'm sorry, just not feeling it. titans 31-17 -
i agree and along with what hapless said, they must have done some kind of pin prick oath. with that said, what we do know is.... 1. mcdermott hired juan ( i believe before rico) as oline coach and RUNNING GAME COORDINATOR. 2. last year the oline had to revolt against the zone blocking scheme to try to get back to the power scheme that they had success with the previous 2 years. it worked as our run game did improve. 3. mcd fires rico, but keeps juan. 4. mcd hires dabol and keeps juan. don't the coordinators usually hire their line coaches? i could be wrong, but i wouldn't doubt dabol was told he was working with juan and ironically juan also still has the subtitle of run game coordinator. 5. the run game and oline woes lie squarely on mcd'e shoulders. nothing's gonna change until castillo is gone. mcd is not going to tell juan to mix or move lineman, so we are in for much more of the same chaos up front. our veterans are gone so there is no one to stand up to juan. this is 100% on mcd. all he can do is throw dabol under the bus ....apparently. i thought letting him go was stupid....and keep lee? oleary makes plays. i think they should also bring reilly back. we need a couple of guys that can get open.

Josh Allen: A fawn in headlights

he had to bail before ducasse stepped on him..... -
well if from here on out, we drop 2 to brady and one to detroit or some one else, we could still go 10-6!

as to the op topic, the first thing i would do is bring back oleary and brandon reilly. i would cut khari lee, maybe send one of the olineman back to the p.s. i would also probably bring levi wallace up and cut pitts if i can't come up with a spot some other way. wallace needs some experience. it wouldn't hurt my feelings to see vlad cut, miller benched, putting teller at lg and groy at rg. two things are for sure...we need a couple of guys familiar with the playbook that can get open. oleary and reilly can do that. i made my point in regard to what could feasibly be done now. the bolded could and should be done asap.

it drives me insane that we can never get a blitzing defense. as far as the run, i was really scratching my head yesterday because with a fg or two maybe we could have got some momentum going and kept it within a couple of scores. however at 3rd and 4 or 5, in fg range, instead of trying to get a lead block and run the ball, we call a pass break only to see them bring the house and drop josh for a 10 yd loss and no chance for 3....wtf? dabol clearly out smarted ( maybe a poor choice of word) himself.) frazier is just the rick dennison of defense. what a joke that game was.

my thoughts i think the problem is shady. when shady is available, they seem to feel obligated to make him the focal point of the offense. now we all know he is a stutter step/wait for the hole and when it's not there, the play is usually over. i was hoping they'd use a 2 back set and keep josh in the shotgun. it was stupid putting him under center when he was rattled. ( kinds stupid putting him under center ever.) his instincts are to backpedal...1 sec....2..sec...big trouble, panic, turn, spin, sack. eerily e.j. i know i'll get flamed for this but, imo the most important objective is to win games, no matter how it happens. they should have at least given nate a series and given josh a chance to collect himself. i know qb by committee is taboo and creates a media brewha, but again do whatever it takes. on defense the thing that pissed me off the most was not pressing the wrs at the line. when you're facing someone who gets the ball out quick, you have to bump those guys off their timing. it was so maddening to see the corners backpedal when the ball was snapped. ummm derrrrr. wtf? they also went back to the traditional dline until late and had no answer to creating pressure from the line. no stunts...not near enough substitution etc. lastly, two blitzes, 2 sacks. i'm so sick of having a wanndstandt defense. if you're not getting anywhere with 4, f...ing blitz! not sending tremaine up the middle more is flat out stupid. there was also a nonstop gap inside of jerry while he was getting undressed on the outside. why wasn't milano shooting that gap? prevent defense to me means...ain't gotta plan....or a set of nuts. it was apparent that mcdermott took his hands back off the defense. for him supposedly being a defensive mind with a side of dbs, not pressing those receivers was insane. this coaching staff got exactly what they deserved yesterday. i'm afraid they're gonna ruin allen.

i call it pathetic. other teams learn how to run stunts ie. the chargers. but the hat on hat crap ain't working right now. -

what drove me nuts was seeing hughes being undressed on every play and frazier's reluctance to a. blitz more b. change up the inside dt's ( before the game was lost) and why we didn't bump the wrs at the line instead of backpedaling. that was pathetic...from start to finish -

that's my point. two guys falling on allen...hard sacks...mainly due to rookie mistakes, why would you subject him to that? and don't forget wins are what gets us somewhere, not giving in to develop a player. he was left out there to take a beating and i think that's b.s. not only are you letting that happen, your're also not allowing a fresh set of eyes perhaps turn things around and just maybe get win...which i have stressed before is the goal, anything else is b.s. -

two that i saw.but ...oh and that's another thing....not playing press. how in the hell can you not bump these guys at the line and throw rogers's 2 second throws off? explain to me why our db's backpeddling at the snap against aaron rogers is a solid plan? frazier sucks ....his game plan sucks... and mcd should have never given him back the reigns. sure, i get it, you thought it was gonna be ok , but you gave him a whole game to revert to the results we got in the la game. mcd has to either take over or replace frazier now. if this season goes down in flames because of defense, that's on sean mcdermott and no one else...period. -

i won't argue that, but this is 2018 and i would respect a coach for switching qbs in a game out of hand. for one, if nate would have come in and started rolling with quick strikes, we may have had a chance to win. and in case anybody doesn't know, wins gets you to the playoffs. josh was rattled beyond recovery and pulling him wouldn't/couldn't have hurt his progress any more than letting him get eaten up at the end of the game. i respect a coaching staff that will do whatever it takes to win....not one who wants to coddle players and prepare a loser's postgame speech while they're on the sidelines.
