  1. maybe he should be.....no maybe about it
  2. allen can't hit anything....in bounds
  3. start slinging it when two runs puts us in field goal range.....oh wait...penalties......
  4. it makes me wonder ....if several teams are passing successfully like crazy, it forces the opponent to resort to that as well. maybe a lot of the overall statistics are swayed by that. this team better learn how to get proficient at it quick because there are gonna be times where we are behind to the extent that we have to pass nonstop.
  5. this made me think...why not have murphy and ivory in the backfield together and put shady in the slot with zay and kb or foster on the outside. shady would be a huge mismatch and at least take a lb out of the play. someone also mentioned brandon reilly and i for the life of me can't understand why he's not on the roster. we desperately need that chris hogan 2.0 guy that is open and dependable especially on 3rd downs.
  6. probably the biggest factor in goff's improvement. i don't know why we can't do that. getting to the line with 5 secs. left leaves no time to read the d and adjust. delay of game flags are inexcusable.
  7. murph was talking about this the other day...that our strength of schedule in the first half of the year went from " x " (i can't remember the rank but think it was very high), to 3rd easiest through the second half. if we can win these next two, maybe we have a shot against the pats at home on halloween. however, if we can get to 4-4 and that switch between allen's ears flips on, we could go on a 6-2 run through the 2nd half with most of the games at home. never heard that one before. i love it!
  8. i wish i could find a clip of this play that i mentioned. it was under marrone e.j. vs. fitz. watt was laying on his back and cyril went macho man on him with the elbow drop. coolest play ever by an olineman. maybe it was more like greg the hammer valentine. wish i could find it.
  9. wait..what? i do remember cyril richarsds(son) giving him the macho man elbow ..which was way cool, but i don't remember the mills thing. mills is gonna get eaten alive. we need to go with the sirles 6 man line thing. run the ball....
  10. oops didn't mean to like, i meant to quote. look at josh's head position and where he's looking. he should have come off that by then....unless he's got eyes in his ears.... which doesn't appear to be the case.....kinda like peripheral vision. but anywho
  11. scroll up and look at that first photo where he has logan at the top wide open. that ball should have been on it's way to him at that very second....but that's not my point. my point is look at the other 3 guys and they are all covered. that seems to be the norm and it can cause josh to hang on to the ball long enough for his protection to break down. if this is gonna continue, he has got to come off that first read a lot faster. in that pic he has the time to read the whole field.....but.... idk, but i'm starting to get worried.
  12. you're right on all your points. we all saw ej's 1st year and it was obvious that it was very unlikely that he was going to improve enough in the off season to contend in his second year. however, whaley pulled the sammy deal and started the train rolling to salary cap hell. as much as i would like to see josh succeed, at the end of the year we have to be realistic about how things look and not repeat the whaley years. ( look at the qbs we passed on while being "all in on e.j.").
  13. that to me is maddening. how is that not basically in his peripheral vision? that suggests to me that he is ( more often than not) locking in on his first read and that is not a good sign. i thought this year i wouldn't have to be screaming "THROW THE BALL!", but i was wrong. that photo on top is not the only time that's happened.
  14. going back to harping on using a 2 back set out of the shotgun....and maybe mix a little chan in the game plan. allen has the best fake i've seen since boomer. with a 2 back set and a great fake he can put more on allen's shoulders and let him react a little more. there's so many options out of that line up, i think it would be unstoppable.
  15. i think that'd be a great fit, but cfl contract?
  16. so keeping in mind we all know you hate nate....did you ever think derek may have said , "i'd love to be on the sidelines to help josh, but if we are behind and getting blitzed like crazy or he gets hurt and i gotta go in for quites some time...no thanks"....kinda like the mc cown deal. could be the reality of the deal dude. think about it. i'm glad they haven't cut nate. btw , thank you for being clear and saving me the time to read 2 pages.
  17. then bring in....oh hell with it.
  18. oh yeah nothing beats a future maybe 3rd round pick to catapult this season straight to h...e...double sabre sticks. real smart, hell let's try to get 15 picks for next year.
  19. yep but sooner or later those plays will have to be made. even if we go with 2 back sets or have dimarco lead block, defenses are gonna put the redzone squeeze on us. if dabol wants to make his mark, he'll have to stick with his game planning for the opponent and pull out all the stops.
  20. well flame away on me but i'm still going to go to bat for nate. that 1st game was in a torrential nonstop downpour. it was dabol's debut and it appears so far that the ravens did some serious improvement over the off season. they probably got a lot of looks that neither dreamed of seeing...like "oh sh.t, didn't see that coming"...and btw the way the biggest suck for the oline was in fact game one. i don't think his pre season performance was a fluke. he just never got a chance to get anything going. of course that excuse is good for anybody not named nate, but that aside, i think somewhere, sometime he's gonna prove himself and his worth. i am grateful that so far mcd feels the same way. they see enough in that guy to not let him go just yet. derek should be fine as a sideline qb coach, but nothing more would i expect from him.
  21. well based on each weekly opponent they may not be able to pull off yesterday. they may have to go 4 wide out of the gun and put the game on him. if they were smart ( not sayin they're not ) but they would incorporate putting some weight on his shoulders when they can ie. 1st and 2nd downs when they can afford to. he hasn't completed one "look at that arm long ball in 5 games". they do need to nudge him. can't carry 40 times a game. jmo
  22. oleary...all he did was get sneaky open and make clutch catches. i'd like to know his catch per target ratio. this cut was a huge brainfart and him playing for the fins could bite us in the ass big time. if they put him back on the p.s mcd would absolutely be derelict of duty by not snatching him back.
  23. putting kb in the slot will give him alligator arms and do no good. we are only carrying 5 wrs with phillips and sharp the only 2 on the p.s. we need some fresh blood of some kind. i wish brandon reilly could be brought back. he can play the slot and is fast enough to play outside. having holmes out there any time other than in the red zone is a waste. idk but they gotta make some kind of move. i've been pounding the table in several threads for the 2 back set. it gives them so many options and is a great counter punch to blitzes. it would also allow running the o at a faster pace.
