  1. two things i am worried about...feliciano maybe ( would have) neutralized collins. i pray that nseke starts at rt and ford at rg. if they start ford at rt, we are gonna be in t  r  o. u   b  l   e.

please bobby j.  don't do that. just move the chains. we may have to sacrifice allen running to keep it going if we are going to try to win this game. hate to do it, but he may need to be our leading rusher. i hope devin can handle 15 carries....and frank brings his hall of fame A game.

on defense....HIT BRADY!   TAKE THE 15! IF NEED BE!....well maybe not in the redzone.....

Well you have to identify the bit of the thing you have always done that has been the problem. I get it. When fans see a QB not getting hit they scream "why don't we blitz?" I have seen them do it in game day threads even after we have blitzed on a play. Brady gets the ball out fast. Blitzing will not "lay the wood" it will just leave you a man short in coverage and you can bet your last dollar Brady will know exactly where you are short and find his guy in that zone.

we have nothing to lose!  we are 30-3 against him  and have been conservative in our defensive approach. we now have oliver, milano and edmunds, along with neal an k. johnson.

it's time to throw down! trent murphy is gonna have a career game.  i want brady beat up.  throw the dildos and punish him. again, we have nothing to lose!

Apparently, according to the USA Today:

Pouring it on, they list Tyrod as the 3rd best backup in the league!

i'm not going any farther than this. there's actually times where i think we have a better chance of winning with barkley.....and i wouldn't be opposed to a change if it meant a playoff chance or not. josh is in yr. 2, he doesn't have to be mahomes, he doesn't have those weapons....and i don't want him hurt.

So the Giants did not blitz much at all in those two Superbowls. They got there with 4 but they focused on attacking the middle of the pocket, didn't let Brady step up and forced him, if trying to escape, to flush out. As for the Eagles as a model..... well they hardly stopped the Pats at all. They just outscored them.

The point on time is that Brady gets it out so quick your blitzers don't have chance to get there and all sending them does is leave you short handed. No Quarterback understands his hots as well as Brady. He sees someone coming he knows instantly what area they are vacating and puts the ball there.

I am not saying you never blitz him but it has to be very occasional and very well targeted. We had blitz heavy game plans against Brady with Pettine as our DC and a couple of times under Rex. It feels like you are still getting no pressure because the ball is still gone long before they get there. McDermott has actually had reasonably good success against Brady to this point. The problem in those games has been our inability to stop the run.

whatever...what we have been doing for 20 yrs. hasn't worked. now we have the guys to lay the wood to brady and it needs to be done if we want a win.  i'm so sick of coaches being afraid to send pressure and watching tom tie his shoes and then throw a pass.  we have to open a can of whoopass plain and simple. a conservative rush 4 and hope to cover is gonna get us another beatdown. i don't know why people can't understand that if you do what you have always done......

Challenge my DL to win one on one match ups consistently. Spread the field with 5 WR and go no huddle. Lock their base D out there and give Josh a look at that secondary.

About the third drive I’m going heavy, no huddle, locking their smaller unit out there and smashing face with Frank.

i agree with this plan, but i'd like to add that we need to ir or come to an injury settlement with kroft and quit screwing up a roster spot. we need to incorporate duke williams.

gilmore will be on brown all day. foster has a slight height advantage on devin mccourty (5' 10"). both safeties are 5'11".  we need the high point , big radius guy especially in the redzone.

with collins trying to cover beasley and when they rush van noy, that's the time for singletary and gore.  we can simply out number them and i believe that's what we need to do.

and for those guys who are afraid of blitzing tell me this....has not blitzing ever worked? 30-3?  philly may have had cox, but they constantly sent others. the giants also....

not to mention marshal newhouse is starting at Lt and they have a backup center. rushing 4 is  wasting opportunity.

    22 minutes ago, BringBackOrton said:

Yep. The dumbest thing teams do against Brady and the Pats is be down 17-10 and start blitzing like crazy. Then in a blink of an eye, it’s 31-10.

i'd like an example of this because for years i've been pulling my hair out because they've stubbornly refused to blitz.

our 2ndary is good enough to cover and make brady take an extra 2 seconds to look for someone. why not take advantage of that?

besides, why not get aggressive?   what does giving brady 3 or more seconds gonna do for us? this is a  "we have nothing to lose" game.

time to pull out all the stops.

instead, historically we don't get pressure and i don't care how good you are in coverage, someone's gonna come open. this is exactly what they are going to do to us. they're gonna play man coverage and blitz.

I posted this earlier in another thread. and didn't get much response... hopefully its gets its due praise in here. Oliver hasn't gotten "home" yet but he's altered plenty of pockets and throws so far.

Oliver collapsing the pocket could mean everything this week

newhouse at LT and a backup center?  it's gotta happen....and at home?   come on...we should see carnage

I wish Kyle and Oliver could’ve played together, what a DT combo they would’ve made.

If you can create pressure with your front four without blitzing you have a huge advantage.

but that never works against belichek. that philosophy will get another loss against them.

  7. belichek will have metallica master of puppets going through the headphones.  my plan is...

offense:  use nothing but 3 wide with knox and sweeney....gore or singletary single back for outlet or handoff and go 4 wide bunch formations. we gotta send guys deep and keep them out of the box. that should open up beasley and the deep shot....or the rb in the flat. they will be sending collins, van noy and or a db nonstop. we have to make them pay. classic chess match between dabol and his former boss.

defense: don't be pussies and play rush 4 cause we're scared of brady's short game.  we have hughes against newhouse with open lanes for milano. we need some trickery. kick shaq inside next to oliver...open lanes for edmunds to rush up the middle. keep trent out there and work him with lorax calling the rush schemes and lining up at the line at times.

punch the wrs in the gut at the line instead of backpeddling.

i guess what i'm looking for is a fresh coaching against these guys. what is it ?30-3 now?  it's time to sack up for the staff and players and quit the same old approach against these guys that has gotten our asses handed to us for umpteen years. swing for the fences! play like we have nothing to lose! smack tommy upside his tb12 and take the 15! just win!

    this is our house!

You could be right and they still have Croom on IR who could come back at later date,  Kroft got very good money for a player who has never had any huge success.

i don't think i've ever heard of a player coming back after foot surgeries and nagging foot problems.  even if it's now the other side, i don't see those issues going away.

  9. 43 minutes ago, Buffalo_Stampede said:

They are wasting a roster spot with 4 TE's. Time to make a decision on Tyler Kroft.

i knew in july that he would be out until at least mid sept. and ultimately headed to an injury settlement.  i don't know what they are waiting for. time to cut the loss.

  10. i hope they decide to kick shaq inside. keep murphy out there and let lorax call the pass rush and line up at the line at times. MARSHAL NEWHOUSE is starting at left tackle and they have a backup at center.  hughes should have a good game and milano should have a clear path. if they kick shaq inside next to oliver, edmunds should also have a clear path.

i really hope they get creative because opportunity is knocking to put brady on his ass!

  11. i don't get the hate for foster. only a few plays have been designed for him so far. allen didn't see him or chose not to go there , or the throw was off.  there's also no excuse for not being able to hit zay on the incredibly wide open sure td play.

as far as the pats go we have to beat them with numbers like,  base formations of 3 wide plus knox or sweeney or 4 wide. they can't cover everyone. billyboy is gonna be sending a lb or safety each snap. we should be able to get gore or singletary in space or take the top off respectively.

  12. 5 minutes ago, Doc Brown said:

Yup.  He felt the pressure from behind on that play and stepped up without planting his feet.  Even so he should've been able to hit him as he was wide open.  His deep ball accuracy is a concern.  I think he missed a wide open Brown against the Giants too.

yep...it just seems like way too many throws are off tip toes, one foot and backfoot.  he's got talent throwing on the run, but i think most of the time he has the time to plant and square up.

  13. 15 hours ago, K-9 said:

    I can appreciate that.

The similarity lies in his being flushed right and throwing while on the run in that direction. Allen can make uncommon throws with that arm and I think he’s too confident at times. But I far prefer that mentality to a QB that lacks any confidence at all.

i wish he could develop the instinct to take a fraction of a second to plant his feet because that's why so many passes are inaccurate. that throw off his back foot to zay (long) was horrible.  there's no excuse for not being able to hit that pass when a guy is so wide open and there were no hands on allen.

  14. 6 hours ago, Inigo Montoya said:

We need to bat down Brady's throws.  It's hard to get pressure on Brady because he gets rid of the ball so quickly.  It's easy to say we need to get some push into the pocket and get to Brady, but realistically, that ball will be gone in two seconds most of the day.  If we can't get to Brady with the rush, hopefully our D-linemen and linebackers can at least get some arms up and get a hand on some of Brady's passes, we can disrupt his rhythm and affect his accuracy and hopefully lead to a turnover.  That might help with #1 above, a defensive touchdown.

i hope we are practicing defending the hurry up offense. i'm willing to bet that gets thrown at us a ton this week.  it's the best way to beat the crowd noise and for them to get up early.  the best defense for that is disguised blitzes.  if frazier thinks he just needs to rush 4, it's just gonna be a repeat of the last 20something losses to the pats.

Also pointed out on OBL by Brownie, was the fact that we are talking about a QB in Allen that hasn't even started the equivalent of a full season yet (14 games and counting), and is 23 years old...

and i believe he also said that out of those 14 games, he has 5 4th qtr. comebacks. iirc,  tyrod had zero in his entire time as a bill.....heck i can't remember the last qb who had a comeback win in the 4th.

NFL trainers can handle this. Stick him head first in ice baths. Send him home with a

5 gallon bucket of ben gay. He will back practicing by Wednesday.

Really hope this isn't serious though. Surprised Dawkins didn't sprain his neck watching

his assignment blow past him several times yesterday.

i'm all for drafting a tackle high.  i'm not sure if dion is gonna shake out to be worth a high money Lt contract.

The oline was brutal without him. Hopefully he is okay.

the line was brutal because of ford getting schooled by dunlap. if he stays at rt, he will be the focal point for defenses.  i'd rather not see him have to spend his rookie year getting beat up out there. he's fine at rg. hopefully nseke is a go.

  18. i just hope that this staff will coach against the pats different than the stubborn pattern of previous coaches...

on offense: i'd bet $100 bucks billyboy brings somebody on every single down, mainly collins and van noy and sprinkle in a safety here and there. they aren't just gonna "try to keep allen in the pocket" . they are gonna want to take him down and get him to throw ducks.

if i'm dabol, i'm gonna run a lot of bunch formations with 3wrs and a te or 4 wide. we have to have guys stretching that secondary so it cuts down on db blitzes. they can't cover everyone.  this is the game for the bombs. i'd also do a lot of pulling with singletary to the outside.

on defense:  pray that mcd calls the game.  normally the bills are afraid to blitz brady because of the old saying live by the blitz, d...  screw that, at least go down swinging. do exactly what you know they are gonna do and blitz edmunds and milano nonstop with neal and johnson sprinkled in.

they have to lay the wood to tommyboy.  would be a good time for murphy to step up.  i know they've run on us a bunch lately, but i don't see it happening. get them in 3rd and longs and get brady flustered.

basically do what they want to do to us. i'm pretty much counting this game as a loss so a win will be so much sweeter. this game is a measuring stick of the level of our coaches and as i have stated before i ain't frazier's no. 1 fan. if we get down 10 or more early, we're screwed.  glad this game's at home.

....and for the love of god do not start ford at rt if nseke is a go. they will pick him to death.

From strictly a talent standpoint, my Bills WR group looks like this:

    Brown

    Beasley

    Roberts

    McKenzie

    Foster

    Duke

I know Zay has been working hard on ST, though...

imo, i think roberts should be the return man and mckenzie should be the healthy scratch. we need to launch an offensive and put our foot(s) on their throats for 4 qtrs, or it could be a trap game. they won't take zay out so...anyway, i think we need to get foster a couple of bombs while they're doubling brown and use duke in the redzone. we need to be fresh in our attacks and hopefully remain opponent specific.
