  1. that's the whole thing right there. he hasn't played in a game in a month. the team is (for lack of a better word, on a high from the last game) and marrone is gonna have the jags defense in 100% attack mode. if allen goes out there and struggles, he faces.... 1. getting hurt again 2. a nasty crowd 3. losing his 1st game back...at home 4. he loses all support of his team, who will not be giving their all for him going forward. 4. will bear the weight of ending the season in front of the fans this does not give him a boost in his development by getting all the snaps. his development could go horribly in the wrong direction. at this moment there is absolutely no argument that supports him giving us the best chance to win.
  2. but what if?... what if we send allen out there against the jags and it's a miserable offensive output...josh gets the snot knocked out of him...the season is over.... and the pats actually lose 3 in a row?
  3. i've pointed this out a few times in other threads. this is why it would be derelict not to start barkley. if they start allen against the jags, they will stop shady and get after josh nonstop. we will most likely just go back to where we were 2 weeks ago. the season will officially be over and other than watching josh finish it out, it would be a huge kick in the nuts to the team and the fan base. barkley gives them the best chance for a win and it ain't even debatable. sending josh out there to take a beating and have the season lost at home is not the recipe for his.... "development". it could end up being quite the opposite.
  4. win or lose the jags are gonna wanna throw down when they get here. i don't see where 6 games is a must for josh's development. 5 is plenty. i want to see a competitive offensive output just like last week. i don't want to just take a step back to where we were 2 weeks ago. i also think starting barkley gives our new additions another week to get into a groove vs. their 2nd qb in 2 weeks....and maybe dabol can find a little more cohesiveness with the offensive gameplan. it's a win/win. if he gets us another w, they can choose to start josh against miami. not giving barkley a 2nd game is a sure way to make sure he goes elsewhere after the season. i can't see why any qb would want to come here as it stands already. if they lose, they are out and it's allen the rest of the way. all sides can be happy and see some growth as well. like i said, i don't think 6 games vs. 5 is crucial to allen's development. that's just a b.s. loser mentality. this is a team game. the most important thing for this TEAM'S development is winning.
  5. good points and that is important. we just plugged some new aspects into the offense. give them another game with the same qb to get acclimated.....and have some success.
  6. i'm not gonna repeat my whole long agreement with this in the other thread.
  7. 7/9 80 yds and picture prefect pass to kb for td? in 2 min? did i remember that right?
  8. i'm still on the give barkley another game train....why you ask? because i want an entertaining game with a good chance to win beyond the typical 1st qtr. i want to win!...period. we have last year's playoff opponent....who beat us with 10 pts.....coming to our house to get their smack back on track....and we wanna throw allen into that? do we wanna see another 15 yd. total from shady?....and a constant blitz? you people are nuts or just can't see beyond next sunday. the fans are to blame for ruining qbs in buffalo. seriously....jp / edwards /tuel....even throw levi brown in there. each one showed flashes, but God forbid one bad game and it's torches and pitchforks. the media climbs aboard and then it's death row. a lot of you were for taking barkley at 8 a few years back. he's had some 300 yd games and that's something we pray to maybe see once a year. that' pathetic. so let's bench barkley and he, aj and nate can be the poster boys to deter free agents from coming here, even to back up. how about we just quit screwing with guys careers and it's not gonna make a difference with one more game going to barkley. would you all rather see allen get punished? or does any kind of logic kick in and try to find a more favorable situation to start him. besides, if we lose one more we're done so he's likely to get enough games to close out the season. please change the mantra from "the process" to "common damn sense".
  9. i get what you're saying, but one more game is not gonna mean jack for his future or whether or not he's gonna make it. bottom line is winning.
  10. the team protests and they start barkley. we go on a winning streak destroying opponents including an upset at ne to possibly take the division title. then against the titans in the playoffs, the staff decides to start allen....who loses his shoe while scrambling for a 1st down that leads to a go ahead field goal.... then on the ensuing kickoff....music city miracle part 2....20 years to the day. wouldn't that be a hoot.
  11. now all we need is to get nick back!
  12. I'd rather see barkley get one more game, especially against the jags who will blitz nonstop on allen. if barkley plays and we lose then we're done and it's josh the rest of the way. if we win with barkley and they decide to go with josh, i'd rather it be against miami or the jets at home. there are 52 other guys on this team trying to win. that's the most important thing. what is the stance of the players' council?
  13. well give the chargers one spot and hope the other tie would be the titans....then maybe...hoping to see ne lose 3 more before we play them again. teams come out of nowhere and hand them a loss here and there and i think there's now somewhat of a print for teams to follow. they could lose to minny / pitt and miami plays them tough down there. we could be playing for the division. wouldn't that be a story....
  14. been hoping to see oleary go back on the fins p.,s.
  15. that's it in a nutshell. according to the media, we have the easiest remaining schedule with the pats being the only team with a winning record to go against. also, if somehow the pats drop 3 maybe minn,/ pitt and at miami and we run the table, we could be playing them for the division title at the end. it all starts this sunday and i myself would prefer they give barkley one more start. i would rather try to ride the hot hand until we get one more loss.
  16. i know i said this in another thread but, think about it.....the pats are beatable. if they lose to minn, / pitt / at miami or in any way lose 3, it could come down to us beating them at ne for the division? yum 9-7 may not get us a wc but it could get us the division no? not to mention they are the only team with a winning record right now, that we face going forward. i believe this is what's happening. we've needed for so long a coordinator that game plans by week/opponent.
  17. 100% no doubt about it. if at any time things start heading south, by all means go to josh....but if barkley can get us a win against the jags (and i think he's the best chance), then take it from there. ya gotta think about the rest of the team and the object is to win. this jags defense is going to be mean. barkley might back them off a bit vs. them teeing off on our rookie. just start getting wins one at a time.
  18. i say barkley absolutely should start. there's 52 other guys that want to win and build resumes. if they want barkley to continue, you can bet that goes along way with this staff. ....and not to mention what if? what if we run the table and go 9-7? we have the no.1 defense. think about it. let's say the pats drop games to minn. / pitt and at miami. we could beat them for the division by beating them at home in late dec. a tie then would be in our favor. it could be a christmas miracle! this season is not lost! didn't the giants come back from this record a few years back to go to the sb?
  19. Did any one else here purchase tickets? It was originally scheduled for Oct. 30th then moved to Nov.12th and now is moved again to Nov. 26th. Right after I initially bought the tickets (online), I tore up a knee and could not attend. I tried replying to the confirmation email info@getyourtickets.net to inquire about a refund. There is no contact no. Now, that it's been moved a 2nd time to a date I definitely cannot make and my gf can't just waste vacation days, I'd like to get my money back. I am disabled (in large part due to lifelong benefits from working for Uncle Sam) and on a fixed income. In the email I received yesterday there was an address to the getyourtickets.net company in Arlington Texas. Again, no phone no. My 3rd sent email came back: Mailer Daemon / Undelivered. I also attempted to pm the op who originally posted the event here. Has any one else tried to contact these people? Is it some kind of scam? I have not yet tried to contact the team directly. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  20. the bolded...it's amazing the mob like ire that gets thrown at guys who claim their faith....and that goes for a lot of public figures. as far as nate goes, i believe he will go on to have a career in football. he's got the smarts and the accuracy. he had a pretty bad supporting cast and was called upon at some of the worst times any young qb could face. i loved the game the other day , but without the additons of foster and mckenzie...and teller, along with some play book trickery, would barkley have fared as well? i would have rather ir'd anderson and kept allen/barkley/nate. i think kb is a waste of a roster spot. it's not like he's drawing double coverage....
  21. he had the same black face paint i noticed.
  22. yeah, and reuben probably holds the record for holding flags for that position too.......sincerely, andy livitre...
  23. i'm sure the locker room will have a huge say in who starts. i bet barkley starts until they have another loss....at least I hope so...
  24. i was in the air force (ammo), at that time as well as Nicaragua. i'm no hero but i would give anything to serve again..at 55.....i will gladly do it. edit: and by the way...i am disabled thanks in a good part due to the lifelong benefits of working for uncle sam. i have broken bones and head and neck injuries that the government deemed an act of God and most of my medical records have disappeared. you never know how things eventually catch up with you, but i'd sign up again and go balls out if i was given the chance.
