  1. i think so too. at that point i'd have to figure one of my top guys will slide to around the 15 spot so.... at 9 i would expect a call from elway who is looking to prevent cincy, miami and possibly wash. from trading with us and grabbing lock. i give denver no.9 and a 7th for a 3rd. then...i trade to 15 with wash. for a 2nd. depending on how things fall, i'm thinking sweat may just drop that far. if not...wilkins or lawrence could be the pick. j. williams, dillard and hock are also possibilities. i'm guessing if the one guy beane would stand pat at 9 for is gone, he may think it best to gather a pick or 2. if i had to bet money on what i think they'll do, i'd have to believe they would prefer to actually have extra picks. the above giving us a 2nd and 3rd along with a top 15 player would work nicely.
  2. all i know is that i will support which ever way they decide to go. there must be a lot of people here who think reid and the chiefs are absolute idiots. of course the bold moves they make seem to get them closer to the superbowl so...
  3. i get all that, but we get a game changer. we still have a 2nd/3rd and 2 4ths. not to mention some trade bait with shaq. they put a lot into free agency so we don't have to get starters at all those positions. instead of needing players at 4 different spots, we now really only need one and can get the best player in the draft. these guys ain't dummies. they had a plan all along. i will be ok with whatever they decide. no matter what, i'm likely to go...wait...what...wow, i never thought of that.
  4. i heard all that. however, they've also stated how air tight the place is and that they never hear anyone even hint a thing to them about personnel....and i believe it. besides, the fo i'm sure has at least 9 different scenarios on who might be there at 9 and who knows how things will play out from the 1st pick on. they don't know any more than any of us.
  5. i used to be down on the company station guys, especially chris brown when they had to talk up the whaley/brandon/rex era. now that we have a great front office, it's very enjoyable. they have a ton of national guests on and murph does a great job with his questions. chris brown is much better than before, especially with his x's and o's.
  6. i love that show. i think murph does a great job with show prep and with guests on the show....then again , maybe it's because he's working with tasker who sounds like he's got the cocaine drip sniffles working. however, it's my fave 3hrs. during the week days.
  7. well if murray doesn't go at no. 1, that pick may command a haul.
  8. after ed oliver in the 1st with ferguson then oshane ximines in the mid rds. and maxx crosby with a 5th....omg believe me, with all this fo has done in free agency, they realize(d) that this draft is all set up for them to build a kick ass defense.
  9. first of all ....get a damn haircut! 2nd, with a name like virgil, you drive a car? come on, say it ain't so. ...
  10. throw some alice cooper paint under his eyes and we have a supercharged mitch ferrotte. i probably lost a lot of ya there.... i bet he would absolutely love to get on that dirty d side of the ball and tombstone some qbs. if however, he chooses ranch over bleu cheese..then it may be a waste of time..
  11. impressive bryce paupish. would love the pick. could be a 5th rd. steal?
  12. I agree. I'd like.... DT preferably Oliver EDGE BPA ( I will be happy with whatever pairing they decide on. ) RISNER RT STERNEBRGER TE MIKE MCCOY CENTER ( I think this guy is gonna be better than Eric Wood and God forbid if Morse sees those floating stars, we are fine.) and....if they can get Isabella and Bryce Love later on....YUM!!!! That's 7 out of 10 picks and would be the draft of the century!
  13. i would be ecstatic with this happening rds. 1-3! i would add mike mc coy center to this mix as insurance for morse. then we can cut and save money from keeping a backup....or 2. aside from last year's draft, this is the most exciting one i can remember (overall). been a fan since 1973. we have never seen a front office do what they did in free agency which is what makes this draft so great. these cats know what they're doing and while i'm sure they'll do things we never saw coming, i bet they're gonna knock it out of the park.
  14. well, i appreciate all the clever quips, attempts at comedy and all around elementary insults, but his natural upbringing was on the dline. he should have switched schools instead of agreeing to play oline. i know, i know just because he started out there young and in high school, it would be stupid to try to utilize his size/skill/and demeanor at a position of need. why would they even consider doing something so stupid? signed....eric fisher
  15. there's so many combinations of moves we can make. if oliver is gone, maybe we get sweat and then lawrence. if we trade down a bit, maybe they take clelin ferrell and then grab lawrence. i believe they are going to get both a dt and an edge....hopefully with the first 2 picks, but at least in the first 3.
  16. like someone else mentioned, i think the bucs spot is where we'd have to be to insure we get oliver. then again, dt is a need for them also,(maybe not the biggest), but if they let mc coy walk then it's a different story. i've said this a lot before but shaq lawson could be a trade asset that allows a move like this without giving up high picks this year. so, if we sent shaq, a later rd. pick this year and mid rounder next, i'd pull the trigger. we can get an edge in this draft somewhere (preferably in the 2nd or 3rd, or in a move up). i don't see any reason to keep and pay shaq as a 2 down edge setter. murphy should be healthy and looking to make a come back and we can always slide lorax up to the line..... plus hopefully have picked a good prospect to be the future there.
  17. ya know, that wouldn't surprise me. sits out not to get hurt, then gets hurt and misses rookie season.
  18. sorry, i'm sure this short contemplation should have been inserted into the appropriate (one of a thousand mock drafts). i didn't do my research.
  19. All great points, but I'm telling Mr. Ed that my phone is ringing off the hook with deals for Lock at 9. If you wants it, it's gonna cost a 3rd...period. Now John, I wouldn't do this for just anybody so...what's it gonna be? I would much rather do this and be safe than go down too many spots and get nothing more.... or very little more.
  20. Probably don't need a new thread here now, but it does deserve to be brought into the light. So it usually goes... GM: "Never draft for need because you will overdraft a player at that spot." GM: "Stick to the board and go BPA. If the player happens to be a player of need..cool". GM: Then moves up and down in the draft to where the player(s) of need are BPA....or visa versa... Now I may not have a college degree, but by process of elimination, it seems rather easy to identify the true method of drafting the best players for your team. The whole discussion of need vs. BPA seems to be a bit of a waste of time. JMO Mods feel free to put the fire out when you see fit.
  21. don't worry, you've done better than some of the mocks on here just by not going any further.
  22. i agree here. some qbs have all their talent cards on the table early on and do have the slump. qbs like allen on a crappy team who could only scratch the surface i expect to improve tremendously. darnold may have a slump due to coaching and scheme changes with new faces.... lamar will probably slump because his game will be the same with nowhere to go unless the talent around him elevates. mayfield may hit a slump, because how much better than last year can he be with the tape out on him? rosen, i honestly hope gets a do over because i think he does have starter talent. hopefully he gets a fresh start somewhere. washington... would be a good investment for that team. if they can get him for a 3rd and put him behind keenum for a bit, i think it would be a good move for them.
  23. i think a more likely scenario is dropping one spot and picking up a 3rd from denver. i think denver would gladly do that to keep another team from jumping up and grabbing lock. it's also a safe move for beane who can get montez sweat (assuming oliver is gone). he can then have some options, ie. trading 40 and 2020 2nd to move up a little for a dt....tillery/simmons/wilkins/lawrence etc. he then will have the option of having an extra 3rd and 4th to get back into the 2nd for irv smith? the 3rd and 4th he can go bpa as well as using rds. 5 thru 7 to move up. i'm in the camp of believing he will get a dt and edge high. everything so far that he's done just seems to funnel in that direction. i think next year will be the year where we go all in on a couple of superstars. they could use this year to let all the free agents and draft picks shake and settle with the hopes of making the playoffs and next year get the guys to put us over the top.
