Irv Smith Sr would make sense

agree and a big bonus would be a trade right back in for jalen ferguson would rock. can't believe he's dropped.  of course ximines and polite may be had a bit later.

i know i've been rooting a lot for defensive pieces, but if we improve pressure/sacks and run d,  that will get us 10 wins. we got the dt now we need a quality edge or 2.

i'm also hoping for khalil hodge as a sleeper lb pick.

  2. well for example...let's say atlanta needs dline help. wilkins is there at 9. they tagged grady jarrett but hate like hell to have to pay him. so they trade us jarrett and a 2nd for pick 9 for 14. they get shaq and get a blue collar rookie. we get montez sweat at 14 and a pro bowl dt...which we can afford.  ok my head has been swimming with ideas for months. i can't wait for this to be over.

Devin White will be gone at 9...maybe Devin Bush? Ferrell or Zach Allen later on? The way things seem to be going, Bills will have to trade up for a blue chip defensive player. Dexter Lawrence?

i hope they get one good dt and at least one good edge...prefer two, but at least a pair that compliment each other.  sweat/lawrence?...wilkins/ ferguson? ...tillery/ximines?

idk...what i do know is that those two spots need to be filled/upgraded or we're heading for a one legged ass kicking contest like we've seen since 1994....so billsy?

i'm hoping those days are long gone.

    Murray goes 1

    Bosa goes 2

Washington goes full Washington and trades to 3, takes Jones.

Giants panic and flip with Oakland, take Haskins at 4.

    Tampa takes White at 5

Raiders, fully flushed with picks, takes the guy Gruden supposedly loves in Lock at 6.

Bills give the Jags their 3rd and get Williams at 7.

i'd have to take a shower!

Gun to head right now I think it's between Christian Wilkins and Andre Dillard and I can't get a read on who's the favorite. I expect their first two choices(Oliver and Williams to be off the board) and I just can't see them taking Hockenson and he might be off the board anyway.

i've posted this before so sorry for being redundant.  if oliver is gone with haskins and lock still there ( which i believe they will be), i see beane working the phone hard for sure.

trade with denver:  no. 9 and a 7th for no. 10 and a 3rd.  elway don't wanna get jumped here by cincy/miami/wash.

trade with wash.  no. 10 for no. 15 and a 2nd.  the skins want a qb before the giants are back on the clock.

    now we have 2 2nds, 2 3rds and 2 4ths.

pick no. 15  bills select montez sweat. health issues cause a short slide right into our lap.

    rd. 2  dexter lawrence

              irv smith jr.

100000% agree. In the past, we never looked ahead, we went for Edmunds via last year because they knew this draft was thin at LB and he was a highly rated talent who was falling.

I do expect a TE in this draft I am thinking Jace is who we are looking at, he has time to groom and grow behind Kroft while we go after the talent on the lines in 1/2. I think WR is a consideration, but it is going to be weighted against the line talent. JMO

jace is possible, but my money is on irv smith jr.  pedigree/ reliable / dabol knows him well.  we got the blocker in fisher.

OP, Really? You honestly felt this needed it’s own thread?

Goddamn, I can’t wait for this to be over!

must of been a rough night at the golf course to use that word.

Just understanding Tom Coughlin and the way he drafts, it would shock me if he didn't take Oliver himself. I could see and make a case for him taking everyone of the top 5 DT at 7.

i think a possibility would be a trade with atlanta. 9 for 14 and a 2nd....along with a trade for grady jarrett.

edit: oops i quoted the wrong statement.

Yea my one of my 2 reservations are Gentleman's history.  And the other is will Doug Marrone trade with us?  I'm sure he has a major say down there.

That being said.  If that order does not pan out (Jags or Giants don't trade but both go OT and Detroit takes Oliver) we still get Hock.

Getting Oliver or Hock I'd be beyond thrilled.

sorry this may have already been said but, i don't see why not....he walked away with a check and his beef was with whaley shoving e.j. down his throat.

Haven’t some people said that Duke Williams had 1st round talent but it was his baggage that forced him to go to the CFL?  Anybody hear anything about how he’s doing in workouts?

i heard him on the radio and i'm sure this dude is gonna ball.  i think he's gonna look like moulds.

I've waited until the day before the draft so that we could all gather as much intel as possible.

You can answer simply or you can go into detail.

You can list two guys if you think they're going to be making two picks in the 1st round.

When it's all said and done, who do YOU think will be the Bills' first round pick?

I'll start: Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson. I think he's 100% the type of guy the Bills want to build around. You won't find a better "Process"/locker room/culture fit anywhere in the draft. Also, the perception of Wilkins suffers because of the presence of guys like Oliver and Williams in this draft, but he's a baller. He may not have the explosiveness of Oliver (few do), but he's a supremely physically talented player in his own right. He is also extremely versatile and lined up everywhere along the d-line at Clemson. Between who Wilkins is as a person, who he is as a player, and where he is likely to be selected in the draft, I think he's the most likely round 1 pick for the Bills. I believe they'll trade down with either Carolina or Houston and wind up selecting Wilkins.

    Who's yours? Let's hear 'em!

this makes a lot of sense...but if oliver slides, it's him. however i think we trade down and get a player around 15.

  10. sorry. can't go past the 1st post.  no way in hell we trade down to take dk.  as a matter of redneck fact, i think things will go haywire with the raiders taking murray.

that's right folks...i think they deal carr to wash. or miami. i think the biding war then ensues with haskins and lock on the board and all we have to do is drop one spot to denver for a 3rd......which means if oliver or sweat are there we are good. trade down once to denver for a 3rd....trade down twice to miami or washington for a 2nd....gain the picks.

we then get sweat or we take wilkins/lawrence  possibly j. ferguson as well.

I hear you, but if the Bills can get consistent pressure up the middle that will get Hughes a lot of sacks.  Murphy and Shaw would get their too.  Hughes misses a lot of sacks because QBs have room to step up in the pocket.

yeah i know you're right and i would be very happy with oliver. my head is swimming at this point. i've probably pondered 100 different scenarios and looked at 100 different bios and read 100 different mocks.  onebillslive in 10 min.        40 more hours....brutal

I could rock with your scenario.  An extra 2nd and 3rd would definitely lead me to think a trade back into the 1st was coming.

i don't know if Sweat is still on Beane's radar due to the health issue.

IMO our biggest NEED is pass rusher. I know DT is a biggie, but there's a lot of biggies to choose from. I think Mcbeane realizes the need for 2 good ends and is looking toward the future here. I hope we draft 2.... Montez Sweat and O.Ximines or find a 2nd DE gem later. IE. maybe a Max Crosby?

Maybe they double down with Sweat and Ferguson?

I dare anyone to name the last 2 outstanding ends we've had at one time. I believe this front office will finally make it happen. I think they are looking at maybe extending Hughes next year, but shedding Murphy's deal as well as replacing Lorax.
