  1. Scheme? Switching back to an attacking 4-3 is a dramatic ill advised scheme change?
  2. Maybe the next time I hear someone spout off about bbmb refugees, I will have to repost this stupidity.....sheesh
  3. Fair enough, but for $100...Sammy plays all year?....or Sammy gets hurt? What would you do? Franchise a guy who misses time and may need another op+rehab? ......Or try to trade him and get nothing..? They gambled and made the right move in my eyes. I kinda know someone very close to Sammy and I get the self-centered,prima donna vibe. That's all I'm gonna say about that. I don't get the whole purge argument. Gaines may be just as good as Darby would have in this scheme. Matthews will probably put up numbers just as good as sammy this year, and we gained a couple of high picks. They traded Ragland who wsn't cutting it....and I feel they didn't get enough, but all this complaining about purging I just don't get. My biggest beef is a proven failure as our oline coach....and why aren't Miller and Dawkins penciled in on the right side period.! I can't for the life of me figure out why this team has ignored the right tackle spot since...Eric Pears?
  4. All this complaining about what the new staff has done is really a drag. We just spent 4 years with an egotistical moron followed by a blowhard clown. All any of us wanted was for new blood at gm and coach and we by all accounts ,have gotten what appears to be a respectable pair. I can't expect to agree with every move they make but I look at it like this. ... If I had to bet $100 bucks on whether Sammy would play all 16, I'd bet he!! no. If I had to bet $100 that we would be able to sign him after this year and him not wanting to catch the first plane out...too a team we could/would never match..I'd bet he!! no. That being said, I'll take Gaines and the pick. We did get a very good receiver in Matthews and a pick, so production wise and time on field wise, I think it will pay off. Ragland for a 4th in 2019, I didn't like, I would have rather found a speedster or a RT, but, I'm not gonna call the staff stupid. My biggest beef is Castillo and how crappy this line has played...and for the love of God leave Miller alone and try Groy at RT if we can't find someone on a cut. I am going to give the benefit of the doubt to the staff going into week one to get their $het together. If trading Sammy was equivalent to cutting off Tyrod's throwing arm, then we will see Peterman play. Realistically, do I expect a WC this year?...no...but I won't rule it out either. I believe we are gonna see a whole different team come week one. I hope Matthews can step right in. I think Zay will be an upgrade to Woods. I think Brandon Reilly will be a better version of Chris Hogan and Streeter and Tate can help as well. I think Oleary will show us why he won the best college TE award.....not to mention clay and the backs' ability to catch. I have a lot of faith in the talent we have. I also like the way we are setting ourselves up for the future. Actually, I haven't felt this good going into a season in more years than I can remember. All this negativity is not gonna drag me down.
  5. i think the article was speaking in general terms of him going to a 4-3 defense.
  6. I haven't seen anything posts on this but it is intriguing. It talks about a trade to the Chiefs but has no option for what the Bills would get in return. Trading Ragland, I don't think will hurt the team and could get us something well worth while. I haven't looked over the Chiefs roster but wonder if there is a speedster we could use. I don't know if I'd trade for the sake of stockpiling picks. but a 34 defensive team might be willing to cough up something good. Any thoughts? I think it would be nice to get our hands on a deep threat, especially if Matthews is going to miss time.
  7. i'm sure i'm not the only one saying wtf? watching tyrod last night....but i may be the only one who remembers 26-39 for 329 3tds and 0 picks in his last game last year. if he is capable of doing that he can do it more often. the one thing that does bug me to no end is how everyone complains about the sammy deal and how it takes time to build a chemistry with receivers well.......nate seemed to hit guys just fine more times than not......so... a trade of tyrod i would still consider stupid. i'd love to see nate with the the ones, but regular season games are a different animal
  8. i think this staff is going to have this team ready by september. two minute drills were nonexistent last year.
  9. It;s not Vic's first...By a nose...Fred Smerlas with Vic Carucci is a great read.
  10. one other point i'd like to make is that i am sure that mc d is smart enough to realize that the secondary is going to need the help of a nasty dline that is constantly in the backfield and disrupting the opponents plans. attacking and sacking will help this new secondary. i still hope we sign byrd.
  11. i am not sure what it is and i'm sure i'll get flamed but could care less. it just seems to me that i could go to the old board and read for hours. there was always new threads and takes. a lot of back and forth and generally good humor. however, after that midnight shutdown and having to come here, i see the same tired threads that last for weeks and go to 40 pages. the bills home site has fresher stuff than this and i always immediately used to just click on message boards. this is a tired, stale forum...imo. there's only so much on billswire...hell, i'm forced to surf bleacher report. i don't know if anyone else feels the same ,but i miss the old message board. this place is a bore. i could log in once a week and see maybe two new threads or have to click on page 40 of something that's old news. i know it's the offseason, but this just ain't the same. any other of us labeled lowly refugees feel the same?
  12. tyrod, t.j..peterman...done. i don't think this is so hard to see. maybe c.j. goes to practice squad or can get us a late round pick....woodrum...who knows
  13. i have a good feeling about this situation. after 43 years as a fan, i have not been this excited about an offseason and direction of this team in years. i think mc d will be a successful change and think he will take us forward for years to come. he will need to tweek a few things here and there but i got a good feeling about the whole situation. right now i couldn't be happier and when all is said and done concerning the pegulas' sports team management and accumen , this will be accredited to them turning things around for the good.
  14. a bit off topic ,but in this thread a video popped up about malachi dupri, wr lsu drafted in the 7th round. i wish the bills would have gotten him. i think he is gonna be an odb jr. type. damn , i can't believe he lasted so long. i like the milano pick, but with the last pick we should have gone with this guy. this guy i think is gonna be great. he would have given us a great wr corp.
  15. send cardale jones to denver for chad kelly and next year's 7th. put chad on the ir for the year. we go into the season with tt, yates and peterman. woodrum to the p.s.
  16. i'm glad we got a 1st next year because god knows we are gonna need it. we got a starting cb...ok we ended up with an extra 3rd and next years 20+...although with the extra 3rd i'm thinking foster here. we got a starting wr....a costly trade up when there was a ton of good receivers available we got a player who hopefully can go to rt and eventually start.....another costly trade up...gave up picks for a guy who may not be able to unseat mills...if at all.... and we got maybe the next ryan fitzpatrick....in peterson...color me impressed other than that we got nothing....a big vacuum from round 2 til 5 and 6....who? we couldn't even consider one of what was or could have been the best qb talents this year and honored the teams history by stashing kelly for a year. so out of all of the picks that we had after the trade in round 1, we net 2 starters and a maybe. i don't know who called the shots here, but if it was mcdermott, my high on him is seriously deflated.....if it was whaley...what more reason to realize that we need a new gm. after the 1st round they **** the bed for sure....wow i went from optimistic to 6-10
  17. when kizer and webb come off the board, we better be ready to move. kelly will be next.
  18. out of that list...for us...i'd go with tim williams and then baker.
  19. give a thought to maybe giving that to a team this year for a 2nd,4th and 6th?...particularly if it is with a team that holds high picks in each round? we will probably be picking in the teens next year and if so, would these two picks be enough to get high enough for say...a darnold? or would we be better served with all the talent available this year?....keeping in mind where we are at in terms of roster number, i was just wondering.
  20. they must have had serious concerns about foster's health and getting neck stingers and such.
