Does Michaels need to call them “Champs” all game? He can’t just call them New England or the Patriots? Did he lose a bet to someone?
-
New England has run the same 5 plays all game.
-
Not for nothing but Pittsburgh looks awful.
Offense has no bite and the defense looks really slow.
-
You never see that called a safety, ever. Ball carrier is at the 1, gets driven back and they call a safety and can’t overturn due to angles and bodies.
Jets forum has the audacity to have a couple posters complaining about the refs. The refs handed them 2 points and an extra turnover that gave them starting field position at the 40, leading to their only offensive scoring drive.

i didn;t go through every post but, i'm glad we won. i was hoping josh would have some confidence. but i didn't expect lazy ball handling.....and cole can't be his only guy.
edit: i also forgot that it still pisses me off when on 3rd downs leslie rushes 4. wtf dude? get your head outta yo ass....
Well if Cole cant be his only guy, it’s probaby a good thing Brown had a big day.

75% of NE’s passing game is shallow crossing routes.

Allen actually looked good today. His picks were tipped balls, the 1 fumble was on Morse getting absolutely blown up at the snap, the ball never even made a motion towards Allen's hands. He looked more accurate, more comfortable in the pocket. Most importantly he led the team back to win. Made some big throws in between Singletary shredding the Jets on that last drive and of course the touchdown. Brown and Beasley made a huge difference in the passing game today. Definitely underrated free agent pick ups in the offseason.
I was way more concerned with the play calling. This should be a balanced offense, absolutely no reason to come out throwing 15 out of 16 plays. New England doesn't even do that and they have the GOAT at the position. We were built to run the ball. Drafted Singletary, released McCoy, you have Gore and Yeldon also in the backfield. Rebuilt the entire offensive line. Just a really strange approach to the game today. Next week hopefully makes more sense.
Did anyone else notice Ford moving to guard and Neshke entering the game as RT in the 2nd half? That will probably remain the lineup the rest of the season.I think the pass heavy opening was due to how strong the Jets are up the middle. Probably as strong of a middle of the field defense as anyone in the NFL.

Not the greatest debut for the rookie we cut McCoy for.

Really questionable offensive game plan so far. WTF
Not really... It would be working if we didn’t have 2 turnovers and a 15 yard unnsportsmanlike penalty knocking us out of FG range.
-
Most frustrating start to a game I’ve ever seen. We actually look good, yet have no points and are down 6.

Never mind the 50 other good throws he made before that one.
Why does this not apply to other teams?
Small market plus lack of winning = Irrelevent.
Notice there’s never much analysis about Buffalo nationally but there is for Miami and New York? It’s certainly not due to winning.
-
Bills are irrelevant until we start winning.
I agree with those that say the main difference is Darnold is viewed as legit and Bell, an elite back.
That’s basically the entire reason they are viewed, on paper, as a better offense.
WR/TE’s seem to be pretty even.
Nobody knows who Devin Singletary is yet, and as a small market team that’s hasnt been winnng, the only thing less exciting for pundits to do nationally, would be a deep dive on said teams heavily invested in OL. Therefore, the narrative is about “names”, not the “team”, until the games are played.
-
This new rule is already terrible.
-
That's certainly innovative...
Not sure if I like it or not.
-
I don’t know that any of us have a clue what to expect from our offense.
Jets defense is stout up the middle but lack EDGE, with weak Linebacker/Secondary play outside Mosley and Adams.
Our OL will be playing together for the first time. Good and bad there. Bad, because we have to hope they gel quick. Good, because there’s a decent amount of talent on our line.
How will we use all the new weapons together... John Brown, Cole Beasley, Frank Gore, Devin Singletary.... what will the tight end spot look like?.. Do Zay and/or Foster make a jump? Has Allen progressed enough to efficiently use the new weapons?

I sure hope you are right. The ONLY reason i am skeptical of labeling them No. 1 is pass rush. I think Seattle has turned the corner and will be the no 1 D in league. We will be not that far behind though.
This is where I’m at as well.
We have talent at every level of the defense and we have depth at every level of the defense. We have continuity with these guys in the system.
We’re one of Shaq/Murphy/Johnson providing a legitimate pass rush opposite Hughes away from being elite. Not saying they can’t, but as of now, it’s an unknown.
-
Very similar teams.
Will come down to Allen showing growth in his second year for us to win this game, unless the Defense/ST’s make some big plays.
On paper, our OL is better, but they have the better RB’s and slightly better WR’s (until Zay or Foster decide they want to be consistent).
On paper, our defense is much better - Continuity, talent and depth across the board. The Jets have some nice players but are very thin at linebacker and in the secondary after Mosley and Adams.

Singletary.
100% think cutting Shady was because they realized they need to find touches for this guy.

New England illustrated his point perfectly. It’s finally what we seem to be doing.
Its ok to invest 12 mil in running backs, plural.
Not so much with 12 mil for one running back, singular.

This trade was a complete cover to get rid of Stills, no doubt because he told the truth a couple of weeks ago. Stephen Ross is a big racist fraud who should be exposed like Sterling of Clippers ownership fame.
After the CBA expires, this won't go unnoticed. It may get very ugly...
Please tell me you’re basing this assertion off more than the Trump fundraiser....

Dolphins out here tanking the year before Lawrence can go pro.
Fine by me. Go ahead and draft Tua or Herbert.

Allen - 2nd year & a full camp behind him
WR - Upgraded deep threat. Upgraded slot.
TE - Upgraded Talent & Youth
RB - Upgraded Talent & Youth
OL - Upgraded Talent & Depth
Not sure what else you want? Allen has proven talent, young potential & an upgraded OL that should be at least middle of the pack rated, plus a Top 10 defense behind him.
Its up to Allen to elevate those around him. We’re not Super Bowl contenders but the talent is there for the Playoffs.
*OP is clearly trolling.
-
Put together a strong season and everyone will know names on this team.
Most of our talent is young.. Have to win to get noticed.
-
Definitely sounds like Singletary bursting onto the scene played a part in this. “Don’t want to put him on a pedestal..” is a pretty strong indication of trying to not put too much pressure on him as a rookie.
First Half wasn't as awful as everyone is saying
