  1. Agree with some that I'd like to see us connect on some deep shots this week.  We haven't taken many this year, and with Brown and Foster on the outside, this seems like it should be a staple of a Josh Allen led Offense.

If we're getting greedy, I'd also like to see Josh and Zay get on the same page more than once per game.  It just never seems to click with them, yet.   Zay probably could've housed that slant if Josh put it on him..  Those are plays Zay needs for his development.

I agree.  I did not see much of his play against Tennessee, but I did notice last night that the Jets seemed to be making a concerted effort to get their arms up in front of him.  Even on roll outs, they would stay in front of him and try and deflect his throws.  I wonder if that is a strategy against him....and I wonder if height might start to be a factor.

This.   Baker is accurate on throws where he has a clean pocket or when he rolls out and has clear vision.  Brees is able to kill it with his elongated drop-backs and precision up/down accuracy, but as others have pointed out, that's the exception to the rule with short QB's.

With them neglecting their OL, it will be interesting to see if more teams flood the passing lanes with hands up pass rush/contain.  Then, how does Baker adjust.

I will root for both guys. Bills and Browns are kindred spirits— both franchises need some good luck at QB.

Browns are potential wild card contenders so I will definitely not be rooting for them.  They are also the most unlikable group of people ever assembled outside of New England.

  4. The blindside block and the phantom Morse hold were both awful calls.

We did get lucky on the weird Allen sack/fumble where everyone ran around confused, blowing whistles, as the ball was laying there for a scoop and score.

    The Missed Opportunity at Dominance

Coming out of the half with a 21-7 lead, the Bills had the opportunity to put the Giants away early after receiving the ball at the start of the third quarter. The stage was set and virtually the only thing missing was the thundering voice from Mortal Kombat compelling the Bills to ‘FINISH HIM’.

The ghosts of Bills’ Sundays past, where wins within their grasp slowly slip through fingers like a handful of sand, slowly began to creep in fans’ psyches as the first three possessions of the second half consisted of no more than four plays or 17 yards. Corey Bojorquez was repeatedly asked to keep the Giants from having a short field, an ask that most fans were hoping would be the responsibility of someone else despite Bojorquez rising to the occasion.

The stunted offensive production when the Bills had the opportunity to put their foot on the throats of the Giants and put them away early in the 2nd half takes the cherry off the top of this win. Rather than create distance from their opponent, the Giants eventually took advantage of their second-half opportunities by narrowing the lead to seven before ultimately succumbing to several penalties that suffocated their comeback aspirations.

Agree that we need to get better at "finishing teams off", and hopefully that is the next piece that comes together for this team, but spare me the "several penalties suffocated their comeback" noise...   Josh Allen putting their defender on spin cycle and throwing a dart to John Brown is what ended their comeback chances.

Well Star only had one less snap this week than he had last week.  Right now Oliver is dominating with snaps.

I'm surprised with Jordan Phillips in the mid to low 20's percent.

Looks like our core DT rotation is Oliver/Star/Harrison Phillips.

Jordan Phillips is more a penetrating, pass rush DT, correct?   It seems after the first drive, all hands on deck, and all schemes, were directed towards making sure Barkley wouldn't beat us.

I agree with your "keep your foot on their throat" philosophy.

I have a notion...and it's only my notion, and I could be completely wrong....that Daboll has plans within plans within plans.  I think he is running some plays now because he wants them on film so DC's will see and defenses will be saying "it's that deep route to McKensie, cover that sucka!" only this time McKensie is gonna be a distraction for Brown.  I thought last season that sometimes Daboll was designing plays that were too complex and confused us more than the opponent (though maybe that was Castillo as run coordinator.  One can hope.)   I also think that once we had a lead, he went more vanilla because he wants to limit what he puts on film.

Anyway, it's something the best OCs do actually, set up future opponents with what they're running and how they run it weeks earlier.  But at this point with a young QB and offense that needs to gel, we're sort of borderline in skill level to be able to do that, and we really need some of Daboll's wrinkles for the offense to work effectively.  So it shuts us down when he goes all vanilla or puts in plays where we aren't using the most effective option as the 1st or 2nd read because he wants it on film that way.

    Just my speculation.

Could be something to that, but if Knox doesn’t drop that bullet and/or Josh connects with Zay on the quick slant, we’re probably not worried about the 3rd Quarter.

We may very well have gone more vanilla, but the execution is what held us back.

They are better than their record. Great d line , have better WR than the Giants even with Green out.

Not goingto be an easy game

Always going to see different strengths game to game.    Giants have a really good OL and an elite RB... that’s about it.

Bengals have a better QB and WRs, but we should get more pressure on him than we did Eli.  Hopefully that, along with our secondary, slows their passing attack.

I don’t know much about their defense, but the 49ers lit them up today.

If Singletary is going to miss any time we definitely need to look at a legit replacement here. Gore looks so slow and done out there. It’s anazing how much better Singletary looks then Gore right now. Without him we are going to have a very tough time running the ball. Bring back Murphy and another solid RB. Gore has got to be reduced to 5 touches or less here.

Singletary looks that much better than Gore because he’s a beast.   Legit OROY candidate if he gets more touches.

Gore looked fine to me today.

That said, I’m not sure what Yeldon brings in an actual rotation should he have to split with Gore.
