  1. Brown and Beasley are pretty good WR’s.

Dawson Knox looks to have star potential at TE.

I just don’t know who we were supposed to get these past few years after the draft pick of Zay where I’m sure we’d all rather have Juju.

We’d love a true #1.  We all know that.  I’m sure the FO does too.  In fact, half the teams in the league want one as well.  Those guys aren’t frequently available.

FWIW, This year’s draft is loaded at WR.

It is those mistakes that are cause for concern. While blowouts are not the norm, good teams don’t make a lot of mistakes. Making less mistakes is a marker of a good team, as the talent level between most teams isn’t that different. The Bills need turnover free football and practically error free execution to stay with NE for 4 quarters.

Probably.  I certainly think anyone beating NE in Week 4 is a tall task, especially a team like us that “should” be much better later in the year with all our youth and new players.

I do agree the mistakes need to chill.

That being said, we all talk about our schedule...  The Pats have played 3 teams with a combined worse record than the teams we beat.... and the teams we’ve beat have only won 1 game.

And yet 3 games that didn’t look so tough were pretty close late , where a play or two here and there could have lead to different outcomes.  Can’t assume anything in the NFL. I’m not predicting it, but 7-10 wins IS realistic for this team.

All one has to do is look at the scores any given week.  Blowouts are rare in the NFL.

I think any objective person would say we looked like the better team each week this year.  Jets/Bengals went down to the wire because of 5-10 more mistakes than the opposition.

To date, Baker has shown way more than Josh or any other QB from the 2018 class. It's anyone's guess who will turn out to be the best.

Baker was pro-ready coming into the Draft, and played well last year.  No doubt.

This year, all these guys “year 2” is much more important as adjustments have been made, growth/maturity is happening and these QBs are beginning to develop.

Not sure what to make of Darnold yet and Rosen is a mess.  That leaves Allen, Jackson and Baker.  Baker has the best weapons of any of the young guys, but Allen and Jackson look to be separating from the pack.

  5. I view our defense as Top 10 with every level (DL, LB, Secondary) above average, but none of them elite.

We’re not going to be pitching shutouts but the Bengals have a potent offense and were held to 17 points.   That wins you 90% of games in the NFL.

I agree with most above that we should blitz more.

  6. I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I’d like to see Josh get some 300 yard games under his belt, but if we’re winning, it doesn’t matter much.

We, philosophically, want to be more balanced.  Some teams throw for 300+ but run for less than 100 yards.   We seem to throw for 250 and run for 150.

Some of it is also on Allen..  He’s got to get dialed in on the deep throws.   Two massive overthrows on guaranteed 50 yard TD’s the past 2 weeks.

Should have never came to that but the kid led us down when we had to have it

He let us down and probably allowed this to be way closer than it needed to be, but he also helped engineer a game winning drive.. So, in conclusion, I disagree.

When we HAD to have it... he came through.

I'd be fine if they stopped doing those... they seem really gimmicky

We’ve gotten a first down and a TD out of it and both times Josh was untouched down the field...

I could see if we did that like 10x per game.... Once each game is hardly gimmicky.

Weve always gotta play well, as you said. This is the NFL, there are no gimmes. The Jets didnt look good against us but Im a bit perturbed that the most common take I see is that the Bills defense has only played against ***** teams when in reality the Jests had Darnold and they added Bell, Crowder and other weapons. This was a bolstered Jets offense we went against, not the Simean/Falk offense the Browns played against. I just wish I saw more of "The Bills neutralized a bolstered Jets offense" instead of LOL you only played the Jets.

That Jets defense minus Q and Moseley played the Browns pretty tough.

I’m not entirely sold that the Browns win that game if they faced the team we faced opening day.

I love it. He'll carve em up. He looks like the real deal to me, and that's regardless of any running capability.

That said, we're taking the bengals entirely too lightly on here.

Some might but I’m quite sure the team isn’t.

They have a beat up OL, but the best passing attack with the best QB and best WRs we’ve faced this season.

Their defense isnt very good, but they still have Geno Atkins up the middle.

Played the Seahawks down to the wire.

We certainly will need to continue playing well to come away with a W, as is this case most weeks in the NFL.

There's an awful lot of hubris in this thread for a team that was 6-10 last year and has wins against two of the worst teams in football.

Don't get me wrong: I believe this to be a game that Buffalo should win. I don't, however, see it as a foregone conclusion, cake walk, or even anything more than a game in which they should be favored.

I'm certainly not of the mindset that this game is a cakewalk.  None are in the NFL, well except for maybe the 2019 Dolphins.

I don't really care about the 6-10 mark from last year though..

-Rookie QB who only played half the season, and while raw, got better and better.  He's clearly looking the part this year.

-Seven active OL on Gamedays..  Only 1 of these guys were here last year.

    -Entirely new running back unit.

    -Our #1, #2 and #3 WR's are now #3, #4 and #5 Wr's.

    -Brand new Tight Ends.

-The Defense was Top 10 and was only enhanced with the depth additions in the secondary and the swapping of Kyle with Oliver.

  12. I'll take early season games against teams that aren't good because this Bills team should only get better as the season goes on.

Ed Oliver should only get better in the middle of this DL.

Our fairly talented OL should get better each game, as they gel together.

Our ultra-talented QB should only get better as this is only his second season.

Every team faces injuries, but we have legit depth at almost every position and will be getting our All-Pro Kick/Punt Returner back soon, along with Tyler Kroft providing a veteran pass catching TE presence as a guy like Dawson Knox grows into his role.

*Nvm on Kroft.  It’s the Knox/Sweeney show now.

    Team Stats Bengals Bills
    Points Per Game 18.5 22.5
Points Allowed Per Game 31 15
    Total Yards 394 393
    Yards Passing 364.5

    253.5

    Yards Rushing 29.5 139.5
    Yards Allowed 419 311
    Pass Yards Allowed 253.5 212.5
    Rush Yards Allowed 165.5 98.5

The Bills faced two "Quality" Backs in weeks one and two, ON the road  -- and allowed less than 100 rushing yards average?  (68 & 129)

The numbers just say it ... the Bills should roll over the Bengals.

I love how we look so far this year but it's not completely fair to say we shut down Bell and Barkley led offenses so we shouldn't have a problem shutting down anyone elses rushing attack..  Maybe we don't have a problem with anyone else's rushing game, and our defense is that legit - they very well could be.. but I don't think we were at all worried about the passing attack of the Jets or Giants.  That allowed us to focus on shutting down the run game.

That being said - The Bengals have the best WR's we've faced all year, even minus Green, a QB who can be dangerous, but along with the Jets seem to have one of the worst OL's due to their injuries.

The Bengal defense is probably more along the lines of what we saw from the Giants, than the Jets.  If our Offense is what we've seen Weeks 1 & 2, we should have no problem scoring on them.

LOL. The Jets were trash before that. Nice try though.

Jets are a dumpster fire right now, but you can't be serious with this revisionist narrative you're pushing.   They were considered a darkhorse playoff team heading into the season.

We played them on their home opener, with Darnold and Enunwa in the lineup.  Replace Enunwa with the corpse of Demaryius Thomas and Darnold with a backup/3rd stringer.

The Browns Offense struggled for most of the game WITHOUT Q and Mosley.  They basically had two big Odell Beckham plays.... that's it.  That Defense is legit with Mosley in there and Gregg Williams as DC.

  15. Definitely not trading Shaq for him.  Dude is finally playing like a 1st round pick and people now want to trade him?

Id send a 4th their way for A.J. Green.  He’s just never healthy and is on the backside of his career.

For the “send a 3rd crowd”.. We drafted Singletary in the 3rd this past year, and Harrison Phillips the year prior.  One looks to be a stud playmaker on offense and the other is becoming a legit starting caliber DT.
