When you break down a pass play with super slo mo it’s so easy to see the most Ticky tack stuff.  Seems like some crews will reverse a call, some might stay with the call on the field if you can’t see PI with the naked eye in real time

I thought the first one was ticky tack contact, thus no PI.

The second one was PI. I have no clue how it’s not except for the refs knowing the crowd would literally go insane.

I disagree.  The DB did not interfere with the WR.  The DB has as much of a right to the ball as the WR.  There was some incidental contact, but the contact did not prevent the WR from making a play.  It is extremely difficult to play pass defense in the NFL anymore.

How on earth did that not prevent Jeffery from making a play?   Unless he has bionic robot arms, nobody is catching a pass when the defender smashes their hands away before the ball arrives.

  3. I see PI calls still have no rhyme or reason.

Wow, I can’t believe they didn’t call that interference...DBs hand clearly knocked the WRs hand away from making the catch

Yea, that one seemed worse than the other one.  If DB’s can just smack down hands before the ball arrives, nobody is catching anything unless they’re wide open.

  4. I think Dawson Knox is on his way to becoming a big time TE, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t wish we could see double TE sets of Knox/Kroft over Knox/Sweeney.

Singletary being, probably, out is a let down, but I look at it this way in the long term of this season... This is a make or break game for Yeldon.   He did some nice things against Cinci, but the fumble derailed his contributions.   I don’t see any way he stays on this team if he turns it over this week.  I think it’s his spot to show why he deserves a roster spot.

You're also assuming a 48 yard FG directly into a very strong (30 mph) wind. That's 50-50 at best.

Which is why I said “potentially”.

The whole point of the conversation about points left on the field, is because we can’t do that against NE and win.  We all know that.

Weve left a ton of potential points on the field through 3 weeks.  I can’t imagine too many teams, as evidenced by the graph posted earlier, have mistake’d away points like we have.

We also cant have a sleepwalk 3rd Quarter.  Zero chance at beating the Pats only showing up for 3 out of 4 quarters.

it's okay to assume 3 when the Bills enter the Red Zone?

i'll repeat this to myself until it sinks in....

i'm just happy if it doesn't turn into  -7

    Strange post..

There’s a few parts of this team I’m unsure of heading into the Pats game, but our RZ Offense isn’t one of them.

Sure, the Pats could prevent us from getting the red zone, or be the team that puts the clamps on us when we get there, but until/if that happens, I’m not sure how anyone can watch this offense with Josh Allen’s dual threat ability and 3 games of a high RZ conversion % and think what you’re thinking.

The Knox drop was on the same drive as the Yeldon fumble. Also, you should never assume 7; always assume 3 when it comes to lost opportunities in the red zone. Touchdowns aren't easy to come by; short field goals are. I'm counting 13 missed points.

Ok, I’ll, of course, take 7 off the board due to it being the same drive, but I’m not assuming 3 when this team gets into the red zone.  Until they prove otherwise, I am extremely confident in them getting TD’s.

Id bet almost anything that we get 7 if Yeldon doesn’t fumble.  The Bengals were not stopping us, sans turnover, in that moment.

    So ill go with 17.

Thats one game.  We’ve seen similar issues in the other two games as well.   It’s not out of line for that poster to say we’ve “potentially” left 50 points on the field through 3 weeks.

To leave “50+ points on the table” would suggest that we’ve gotten to the red zone 7+ times and not scored.  That is certainly not the case. In fact, our red zone efficiency has been excellent this season.

In that Bengals game alone -

Intentional grounding took 3 off the board

Yeldon fumble at the five yard line

Josh missing Zay for a TD

Knox dropping a pass that would’ve set up 1st and goal

That’s potentially 24 points right there

  9. Only two slight disagreements...

The Offense was legit in the first half.  They should have had 17-24 points as mistakes took points off the board.  (Yeldon fumble near the goal line and Allen intentional grounding)

I don't think our defense is overperforming.   We have above average, but not elite, talent at every level of the defense.  That equates to what I believe we see.... A top 5 defense, but without game wreckers like Mack, Donald etc..

The jet sweep worked all but once. On top of that, it makes the play action ten times more effective because it worked so well. I legitimately do not understand everyone’s problem with it.

The one time we got stuffed on it was in our "dreaded" 3rd quarter on a 3rd down that led to a punt.  I think down and time left a bad taste in everyone's mouth about the jet sweeps.

I think Browns fans would be saying the same thing if we had to face that Rams D. Losing by 7 to them while they had the ball at the 5 yard line in the end is hardly a red flag and shows how far they have come in 1 year.

I think we'd all be freaking out if Josh Allen played like Baker Mayfield has in the first 3 games.  That's really the end all, be all of this.

I think Cocky is really a matter of perspective... Josh was pretty cocky answering the questions of the NY media last week, and I loved that. I think Baker goes too far, and his "swagger" is way more believable when winning. But I think the hatred that the Browns get is widely because they "arrived" on the national scene before us. - that being said, it is nice to see them humbled some, but I think the hatred is mostly jealously based.

    I do hate Odell.

I don’t get, how you don’t get, why we dislike them?..  (not trying to be a jerk)

They have a QB constantly compared to ours.

They have the biggest diva WR in the league.

Their other WR ended the career of one of our players

They are a potential playoff contender.

Why does mayfield always leave the pocket so soon? He has no idea what to do when he senses  pressure

Height?  He rarely ever steps up in the pocket, where he’d be surrounded by dudes taller than him.  He just bails and start backpedaling sideways.

Would argue that we need more help on the line right now than we do at skilled positions.

But completely agree that Beane should consider a trade of some sort to beef up this team as we start to play some actual football teams.

OL needs time to gel.  There is some talent there.

I think Gore/Singletary has a chance to be a very good duo, but of course.. small sample size.

I like our TE’s.  Knox looks like the real deal.  Sweeney is serviceable.  Would really like to see what Kroft brings to the table.

WR is the spot to address.  We’re a true #1 away from having a high level complete offense.   The Rams do it with a bunch of really good 2’s but we need Zay or Foster to step up to run that attack.

FWIW, Zay has flashed potential this year.  He can’t throw himself the ball though.
