Seems like the next game is always the "Big Test."

Certainly comes across that way on here, but I think there is some legitimacy to this game being a big deal.

Are we a good team, 4-1, ahead of the WC pack with our only loss being a down to the wire game against NE or are we 3-2 and just another WC contender.

With the bye week coming up, 4-1 positions us to get healthy and really come out strong with 2 of the next 3 being against the worst teams in the NFL.

The big thing I see in two of those clips is that our RT can't give him Josh any time and he's rushing his reads/throws.

One of Josh's biggest problems right now is having Ford at RT (it killed Barkley as well)...

That was never more evident than on the throw deep to Zay that should've been a TD, instead picked.

Josh visibly senses the rush that just blows by our RT and throws off his backfoot.

Not an excuse though.  Allen has to step up and make the throw.

  3. I feel a bit for Zay because he gets open and Josh has missed him, a lot.

That being said, it's just not working.  It seems to click with Brown, Beasley and now Knox.  Even McKenzie gets in on the action when he's out there.  We've seen Foster make big plays last year.

We severely lack size at WR, and unfortunately for Zay, to compound the fanbases angst, he's seen as the guy keeping us from calling up the size we lack.

NE sat their D line 3 yards back so anytime Allen ran he didn’t get much. Forced him to stay in pocket and the Bills skill guys at WRTE drop hard after Beasley Brown Knox. Cover those three and Josh is lost

Ok, so if Josh plays, Tennessee (or future teams) are just going to sit their DL 3 yards back, whatever that means, and it's game, blouses?

They clearly didn't just sit their DL back in contain because they had a decent amount of pressure off the edge.

They also have, potentially, the best secondary in the league.  Sure, I guess if it's as simple as just "covering" Brown and Beasley then we're cooked.  Good thing none of the first 3 teams we played thought it would be important to cover Brown or Beasley.

We also get back, eventually, Singletary and Kroft.  I suppose teams will just "cover" Kroft, along with Knox too.

We should be able to move the ball more effectively against the Titans no matter who our QB is, getting Singletary back would help too. Eliminate the 5 turnovers and dont get a punt blocked and returned for a TD and I think we can win this game.

We've moved the ball against everyone we've played this year.  That's something absolutely worth noting.

The Offense needs to be better, but the main issue is Allen and co. making stupid mistakes in the first 3 quarters of the game.  Whether it's interceptions, fumbles, ill-timed penalties or sacks, we've had a knack for racking up yardage and then failing to match that output with points.

The good thing is we can move the ball and are extremely effective in the red zone with Allen.  The bad (mistakes) are at least correctable.

I don't know what this offense looks like with Barkley instead of Allen though, so all of that goes out the window Sunday if Josh can't go.

The offense cracks were shown, Titans D is legit, and on the road as it is a disadvantage.

Right now Titans are a better team given Allen’s performance yesterday. Not much better but Bills are up against it

How exactly were the "offense cracks shown"?

Are you gonna hit us with NE provided the blueprint?   Sure, the blueprint is a top 3 defense with hoodie at the helm.  It also helps when you knock out a QB with one of the highest 4th Quarter QBR's in the NFL at the start of said quarter.

What is Tennessee going to do, scheme/personnel wise to replicate New England's success against us?

  7. If Barkley has to go, I really hope we get some good injury news on Singletary.  Any chance for Kroft?

We really need some big targets out there for the QB to throw to.  Especially in the red zone if we don’t have JA’s dual threat ability.

If I had to guess, Allen sits but Singletary is active.  We go run heavy and take more deep shots for chunk plays off PA.   Barkley throws an accurate long ball... something Allen has been leaving on the table.

  8. I thought both team got away with some stuff early on but it's like as soon as the officials realized NE was in trouble they went haywire.

The Brown ball placement.  He was down at the 1.  No clue how they placed the ball outside the 2.

The hold on Gilmore.   They apparently picked up the flag on PI, but never bothered to flag the obvious hold?

The INT review.  YOU REVIEWED THE PLAY!   Don't you know the rules?  How do you miss that and Gene Steratore has to put you on blast?

Intentional grounding doesn't exist in Brady's world.

How about act like a qb and slide. Lowering your head for extra yards is just asking for injury. Pretty dumb for a second year qb. He shouldn’t have even been in that situation, a series of dumb decisions put him at risk.

Thats the key word here, risk. He shouldn’t be exposed to this type of danger.

It was 3rd down in the 4th Quarter down 6.   Nobody is sliding there.

This D is that good. Edmunds became a big factor today. Loved seeing that.

The secondary is just that good.

weakest link right now is DE. Johnson might develop into something. If he doesn’t, we know Beane will get that addressed.

This is Brady’s last season. Between now and when we play them on 12/22, I think a lot more things will become clear. Brady doesn’t have it. Brady’s arm is less than what Fitz’s arm was when he was with the Bills. I hope the entire league goes after him. Brady isn’t who he was and I’m glad our d showed it.

While I hope you’re correct, it’s one thing to show the blueprint, quite another to execute it.

The 3 best defenses in the league are probably the Bears, Bills and Patriots.

The Pats are going to light up their next 3 opponents.

Bills need a big, physical WR that can outleap and outmuscle DB’s sooner than later. I don’t know if it’s calling up Duke Williams from the practice squad, making a trade for a WR like A.J. Green, or just waiting to see what Kroft can do when he is finally healthy. The smurfs are good between the 20’s, but in the red zone, the Bills need some big targets to high point the ball.

Don’t necessarily need it with Allen, but with a pure passing QB like Barkley (should he have to start), we’re definitely handcuffing ourselves in the red zone without providing him a guy to throw the fade to.

  12. If Barkley plays, I hope we activate Singletary (as long as he’s good).  I understand being cautious with the bye week after but this is a big game, coming off a loss, against another potential WC contender.

We’ll need the defense to do their thing and run the ball well so we can build the pass off the run.

Area i worry about with Barkley is the red zone.

With Allen, we’re incredibly efficient given his dual threat ability.   With Barkley were one dimensional at the QB position and he doesn’t exactly have a jump ball guy to throw fades to.

  13. At halftime they said only 3 things can happen when you throw deep.

    Catch.

    PI

    Incomplete

If it’s intercepted, it’s on the WR.  Interesting that all Josh’s 50/50 balls end up picks.

Zay hasnt had the greatest of luck with Josh, but it’s time to move on.  We don’t have a 1.  Three wide WR, we can’t run out two solid WRs and a guy who never makes plays.

Certain guys are on this team for what they bring in the locker room more so what they bring on the field. DiMarco and Smith are two of those guys to me. You can disagree.

Thats fine, but a guy like Lee Smith doesn’t need to ever be getting snaps over Dawson Knox. He certainly doesn’t need to be running go routes end of half.

  15. I’m pretty confident we win this game if he isn’t cheap shotted out.

He was figuring it out in the 2nd half, has one of the highest 4th Quarter QBR’s in the league, and our red zone offense is phenomenal with him in there.

First half was worrisome though.   The main thing holding him back from becoming big time are the turnovers and connecting on the deep ball.   The deep ball will come, but he has to mentally focus and cut out the turnover garbage.

  16. For as bad as Allen was, he seemed to be getting it together in the second half.

Josh Allen also has one of the highest 4th Quarter QBR’s in the league, as well as operating one of the most efficient red zone offenses.

Safe to say this one couldve been much different if, once again, a Patriot player didn’t intentionally hurt one of our star players.

  17. Titans game becomes huge.  Need to bounce back with a W.

Im of the opinion that they won the game by knocking out Allen.  Dude is erratic as hell but is also that same level of clutch.

Sorry to all the overreacters who are mad we dont have Mahomes and an All-Star Offense.

Hes gotta get better. The turnovers are extremely concerning as he doesn’t seem to learn from them, but he’s electric, improved and my biggest worry is how long until he starts connecting of deep balls.   The turnovers will dissipate with time (I hope).  He’s improved on the other stuff, why not that?

FYI.. he’s always gonna be a guy who turns it over.  Just have to hope he cuts them down and balances it out with big plays and W’s.

  18. Tough to gauge either of these teams if going just off their competition so far.

New England destroyed Pitt (with Big Ben), who is probably similar to Cinci.

We beat the Jets (with Darnold) and Giants.

They destroyed the Dolphins and Jets.

That being said, the Dolphins are barely an NFL team at this point and the only team they could probably win against right now is the beat up/3rd string QB led Jets.

I’d argue our comp has been better than there’s, but they’ve dominated without making mistakes. We’ve dominated on yardage, but made a ton of mistakes in every game.
