  1. I think the Bills will extend Benford. I think Benford is very good. Im not sure I’d do it this offseason.. Id ship out Elam, sign a vet opposite Benford, then draft two corners. If Benford stays healthy all year and comes up clutch in the postseason, bite the bullet and extend him.. but I’d wait and see, even if it ends up costing us a few million extra per year. And if we like what’s developing behind him, we can tag and trade.
  2. It’s a good deal (if) we build up the DL in front of him. Just like a Rousseau extension makes sense (if) he’s a supporting actor on the DL. I think Bernard is a monster when able to play in space. The hesitation is simply that we have guys who are dependent upon getting better around them, which is emblematic of the lack of game changers we’ve had lately.
  3. Hopefully the plan is to put a much better DL in front of him that allows him to thrive in space. Something he didn’t have last year, and it showed.
  4. This sentiment is exhausting. Yes, their owner is more cash strapped than other owners, but it’s not like they refuse to pay anyone. Maybe if Burrow didn’t take a massive contract and then demand they pay for two WR1’s.. one being a guy who will reset the market.. they wouldn’t be in this spot.
  5. Pay me 30M, give up assets to get me and also it can’t be cold is a big ask for someone who reportedly “wants to play for a contender”. In the AFC, that essentially relegates him to the tier 2 contenders behind the Bills, Chiefs and Ravens.
  6. Chiefs have their Garrett/Hendrickson in Chris Jones. DK makes sense for them, just like he does for us, but they have an OL to worry about before they start throwing picks and money at a WR. So DK wants to be paid 30M, play for a contender and doesn’t want to be cold? That rules out quite a few teams. Bills, Packers and Chargers are the main teams I’ve seen linked to him. That would rule out Buffalo and Green Bay, leaving the Chargers… and ok… good luck with west coast Trevor Lawrence.
  7. People see Chris Jones as a wrecking ball in the postseason but alot of that is done from the interior. I fear that like KC/Tampa, KC/Philly has skewed everyone to thinking we need a Myles Garrett and everything is solved. Both times KC got murked in the Super Bowl, it was due to a team that could exploit weaknesses because they were loaded up on the DL and pass rushing front 7 pieces. Officials also allow holding much more in the playoffs. In regards to Dexter Lawrence, much more difficult to hold two monsters up the middle. Now maybe Garrett frees up Oliver and Rousseau, and we get that effect, but I know one thing is for sure… Lamar, Burrow, Mahomes etc.. there’s nowhere to go when the interior is constantly collapsed.
  8. THIS. We get this 31 ppg argument from people all the time, when the reason we score like that is because JA is a freak of nature. Looking back at this past year, he had an elite OL (credit where it’s due) a good stable of RB’s and then, with all due respect, nonsense to throw to. Injured Kincaid, Knox, rookie Keon/post-injury Keon, injured Samuel, Mack Hollins, injured Cooper with no time to mesh and a really good slot receiver in Shakir. It’s a miracle we were so good on Offense and all it took was Allen playing most of the year with a broken hand and other nagging ailments. When compared to Lamar & Burrow, he has so much less at weaponry… and even for the gnashing of teeth in KC with how meh their Offense was with injuries and lack of investment, Mahomes OL sunk them in the end, but you’d have to give them an edge at receiving weapons… which is pretty sad considering how average theirs were.
  9. I’m not saying we should offer our first, but let’s say we did… DK is pretty much all we need on Offense. They could then bring back Mack Hollins and Ty Johnson, or similar type players if they get offered big contracts elsewhere and be pretty much done on Offense. Maybe use a 4th on a WR if they plan to carry 6. That would leave us with the ability to make probably 1 or 2 starter level signings on Defense, along with two-RD2 picks and then 7 Day 3 picks in the rounds Beane has found good depth/solid starter ability and a few gems. I’d then still expect us to be in the Myles Garrett trade talks given it sounds like they may have to wait due to cap constraints and we could designate Von as a 6/1 cut and be a team that could fit him under the cap. What that would then mean for Bernard, Cook and maybe Benford down the line… I don’t know. But the Defense should not be a sieve even if our one big move is DK. Beane would simply have to hit on his other two premium picks and get it right in FA.
  10. Not sure if Maxx Crosby's new contract makes the Bills at all concerned about a new Myles Garrett contract, because trading for Garrett being a one or the other with DK would be, imo, the only thing holding us back from being very aggressive in trying to get DK.
  11. DK would be to JA what Henry was to Lamar. Just disgusting potential.
  12. I'm not exactly on the pay Benford 20M+ train, but most people who follow this stuff would say Benford is absolutely going to command that and would be viewed as a top tier CB if he hits FA. And Spencer Brown is absolutely a Top 3 RT. No, it's not ridiculous. Brady plays Cook on 1st and 2nd downs, many times against light boxes. He hides his weaknesses by rotating in Ty Johnson on passing downs.
  13. Let Ward walk as well. Yet they keep playing in Super Bowl after Super Bowl. What would the Chiefs do with Benford, Bernard and Cook? Would they extend all of them like we likely will? Probably not.
  14. 2nd Best Player on the Team? Josh Allen Dion Dawkins Spencer Brown Christian Benford All 4 of those guys are in consideration for Top 3 player at their position. And all are at premium positions. And the fact Cook is horrible in pass pro and not great at pass catching has to factor into contract negotiations. If he wants to be paid anything close to 15M per, he can't be a liability on 3rd down. I'd acknowledge a case can be made that Cook is in consideration for Top 5 RB.. but a lot of that is due to how Brady deployed him as opposed to just overall greatness.
  15. None. I'd go after a corner with that money or bulk up at DT. Slayton is intriguing but that's a big contract for him.. maybe that's what it takes, maybe not. Although, our biggest issue on Offense last year was that nobody respects our outside receivers.. Slayton's speed would be a step in the right direction to knock teams out of man coverage and/or single high safety. Which would in turn open things up underneath for guys like Shakir and Kincaid. In terms of Offense.. I'm upgrading the outside WR room before I enter any contract talks with Cook. Then if the money is still there and makes sense, ok.
  16. Not sure I see them giving up the draft assets for a big trade like Garrett when they need multiple pieces on their OL at a cost control. I (think) this is more of a move to lock up their own pieces that are coming due.
  17. KC has done this with their secondary and haven't missed a beat. Let's see if they can do the same on the OL. It's a different beast, and they're already weak on that unit to begin with.
  18. What are these lies you were very concerned nobody else picked up on?
  19. Sure, that kid with cancer was nice but it would be a shame if Donald Trump supporters made him commit suicide.. Totally sane reaction over on MSNBC
  20. That speech couldn’t have gone better for Trump. Couldn’t have gone worse for Democrats. I have no idea who is advising them.. every moment they have is more embarrassing than the previous one. Their only hope is that Trump’s tariff gambit doesn’t work out, because they have nothing. The average American watched that, saw them act like children and seem to oppose.. A strong border? Cutting government waste? Protecting women’s sports? Trump just spent two hours challenging them to look miserably opposed to things Americans support in 80/20 fashion and they kept falling for it. They couldn’t even support a kid with cancer or a man rescued from Russia. I guess they stand on forever wars in foreign lands.. that’s all I got. Seems like that’s Democrats only core principle at this point.
