McDuffie and Gordon were two guys I was prepared to have to talk myself into. Not so with Elam. Fits the profile of everything Beane said we needed in the secondary. McDuffie and Gordon, not so much.
-
Im good with the Elam pick, but if RD2 isn’t OL or a weapon for Allen..
-
Love what the Jets have done with their 3 picks. Conversely, I’d be heated if the Bills did what the Chiefs did with 2 RD1 picks. Don’t care much for either guys.
-
Not sure what happened with Jermaine Johnson, or why Beane apparently didn’t have a 1st RD grade on him, but the Jets - on paper - look to have had a great RD1 with 3 potential impact players.
-
A 5th, 2 6ths and a 7th.. wouldn’t be surprised if we’re not still drafting in the 4th.
-
Fantastic pick. After Gardner and Stingley, this guy has the highest upside.
-
How about they make the playoffs once before we start this..
-
This Draft seems like the start of a talent shift back towards the NFC. QB’s, not so much, but sooo happy to see Jameson Williams and AJ Brown not in the AFC.
-
Thats pretty terrible.
-
If we can’t get Williams, I’m just glad whatever rumored Chiefs trade was being explored didn’t end up landing him there.
-
I would hope so, with two top 10 picks each. They weren’t going to take punters and field goal kickers.

I'm trying to figure out why he doesn't look like the RB his testing/results seem he is.. Is it as simple as ISU's uniforms are trash and BIG XII tier 2 telecasts are awful quality? Because he's running away from people, but doesn't look like a 4.39 guy. The tape just doesn't look explosive, yet his track record has him doing explosive things. I never watched him live, but when I watched Najee or Etienne, I saw explosiveness. Najee hurdling people and Etienne's absurd acceleration. Also Bama/Clemson games are top tier quality broadcasts almost every time. Breece Hall does look incredibly fluid as a receiving option, and if teams are going to give us RB checkdowns all game, Breece Hall looks like the type of guy to make them regret doing that. To me, he looks like a 3 down back, with top tier receiving skills and 4.39 speed. If we go that route at 25, i'll question the asset allocation of a RD1 RB, but would definitely be excited about what he brings to the offense.

If we draft Breece Hall, I’d like to see Singletary moved, likely as a piece to help us trade up in say the 3rd or 4th. He’s an above average RB, but not a playmaker, and has struggled in his 3 years when not given the bulk of snaps. He’s not a power guy to compliment Hall. We clearly wouldn’t be re-signing him and I’d rather roll with Hall, Johnson and Moss (or draft another RB in the mid/late rounds). Let Motor go somewhere that he has a chance to earn a second contract.
-
Definitely way too early to evaluate. I do think Etienne has more value than "just" a RB. Dude is a playmaker at RB and Slot. Rousseau was going to take time as a raw DE, but he has a ton of potential and if he ever lives up to it for us - I don't care how good Etienne is - Rousseau is the better pick by miles.
-
Taking a pass catching RB does not put pressure on any offense, let alone the Josh Allen led Buffalo Bills to run more. I can go either way on Breece Hall at 25, but some of these takes are over the top. You make some good points, but we do need an answer to the 2 deep shell. If we stay at 25, he may be the best answer.. and that answer likely would come more in the short passing game than run game.
-
If we take Breece Hall, does anyone think Singletary or Moss get moved? I can’t imagine either has much value, Moss maybe a 6th or 7th, Singletary maybeee a 5th?
-
This is true. The only counterpoint is that I think teams may be willing to trade back for ammo next year over ammo this year. Some teams have all but said they’d like to gain draft capital next year with a better QB class. That would be our saving grace if we’re willing to part with next years RD1.
-
I just don’t think he lasts to 20. If he is, I’ll be losing my mind hoping we trade up. KC, with their draft capital seems like a potential prime candidate to move up and get him. Personally, I don’t see #25 and any late RD1 guy next year (combined) being more of a building block to win Super Bowls than Jameson Williams. I certainly get the apprehension of trading future high picks, especially when we will be a team that NEEDS to hit on them moving forward.
-
We've given Allen an average offensive line, no running game, RD3 Tight End, RD4 WR Diggs and solid vet players at Slot & Gadget. We keep pouring asset after asset into the Defense. We just feel it’s time to take a swing and do a solid for JA17. Maybe we get to tomorrow night and find out it was just going to be way too expensive, but if #25 and next years RD1 can get us Jameson Williams… a seemingly perfect fit for this Offense… I’m doing it with no hesitation.

If Daboll/Schoen like Edmunds, I feel like a trade involving a swap of picks and Edmunds for Bradberry just makes so much sense. They have picks 7 and 36... either of which could be spots we'd very much like to have. Unless Beane has some voodoo magic to re-sign Edmunds and Knox, it looks to everyone that Edmunds may be on a 1 year deal and then he either walks because we don't care to sign him or can't afford to sign him. Why not send him to the Giants, if they view him as a centerpiece of that Defense.. They lock him up long term and we get a 1 year rental out of Bradberry to bolster the secondary and provide insurance for Tre White taking time to come back full strength.
-
100% If 25 plus next years RD1 gets us Jameson Williams, I would do it with zero hesitation. If you designed a player in a lab to add to this Bills Offense, chances are he would look very much like Jameson Williams.

Based solely on who I see being rumored/mocked to us at 25, I'm starting to think my best case realistic scenario with that pick is a trade back for Breece Hall. I'd be ok with Hall at 25, but would agree that it's a tough pill to swallow given positional value in the 1st Round of a RB. My dream is a trade up for Jameson Williams, but I don't see us mortgaging a next years Rd1 or Rd2 to get that done, and anyone looking to trade back is likely doing it to load up for next year.
