Maybe, I don’t know.. wait for the facts to come out before you start assembling the pitchforks. Don’t act like others are bad fans or immoral players because they don’t want to attack someone without knowing, at all, what occurred just yet.

I don’t think anyone here really cares about the talent level. As you state, he’s a punter.. we can just get a different one. Its basically a debate, hours after this dropped, between three factions of fans: 1) He did it. He’s a monster. Cut him and fire the legal department. 2) He’s a punter. Just cut him. This sucks. 3) Don’t cut him until you do your due diligence. This sounds pretty murky. Players may side-eye the org for cutting bait so quickly.

I hate to inform you, but drunk college kids aren’t carding each other before sex. Setting quite the precedent here. Shouldn’t it be reasonable to assume someone at a college get together is of college age, unless told otherwise? This isn’t a 50 year old mistakenly hooking up with a 17 year old… there’s like 1-3 years apart here.

Honestly, my opinion of the Bills FO and this absolute joke of a lawyer are why I’m waiting for some kind of vindication for Araiza to be imminent. But then Araiza’s lawyer, or whoever that is, decides to utter the phrase “cash grab” with the subtlety of a brick and I’m just at a loss… End of the day, Bills probably have 3-5 days to make this go away. No way the NFL let’s us open the season with this guy on the roster and this hanging over him.

Is it? That seems pretty harsh to hit a 20 year old with stat rape because a 17 year old is at a college party and they hook up. Obviously assuming the woman was presumed to be of age.

I meant more in terms of their dealings with lawyers and Araiza.. They had to of known that this would eventually be a s**tstorm. For Araiza, he probably doesn’t have the luxury of staying silent as it plays out. Bills can’t have this dude punting on opening night fresh off Deshaun Watson… I’m sure Goodell has already made that clear to Beane if this doesn’t die down in a few days.

It’s the Watson playbook all over again. Sleazy lawyer litigates over social media to win the case in the court of public opinion. Only problem is Matt Araiza is not Deshaun Watson. Bills may feel strongly that he’s innocent right now, but (sadly or justifiably) the second this goes a bit sideways, Bills likely cut bait.

All these people saying “cut him for the culture” not realizing cutting Araiza because Bills podcasters are trying to earn Twitter social justice credits is going to potentially destroy the culture. Why would anyone want to work for an org that fires people based off allegations? Well, aside, from a handful of people here who would apparently be ecstatic to do that.

Not even “credibly accused”.. just “accused”..

For people who view the players as cogs in their favorite machine, not much. For those that actually care about the human element. A lot. If he’s guilty, cut him and let him deal with the civil and potential criminal suit. If he’s not.. well, who needs to file a criminal suit when you can simply ruin someone’s life by doing this?

Lots of posters here must feel pretty secure in their career to just call for people to be fired within five minutes of hearing about an allegation.

1) Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis are projected to be one of the top WR duos in the NFL. 2) Dawson Knox is a Top 10 TE 3) How many teams do you know that have a guy like Crowder as slot depth? 4) McKenzie won the starting slot position. It wasn't handed to him. 5) With where we are drafting now, I'm not sure how much better we could've done at addressing the skill positions than we did in taking Cook and Shakir. For context, Chiefs took RD2 WR Skyy Moore and RD7 RB Isaiah Pacheco. 6) The OL is viewed by most as a middle of the pack unit, with plenty of upside. We brought in one of the best OL coaches in the game over the offseason. Could some of the talent around Josh be better... sure, it always can.. But sometimes you have to trust your development and this team is full of talent and potential. There aren't many areas where we can look at a position and simply say it's a huge issue.

Would you feel better if the Chiefs acquired Von Miller and then had to settle for some role player Free Agents on Offense while we went out and signed MVS and Juju?

No issue there at all. If Davis balls out, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he becomes a huge priority this off-season given how WR contracts have been going. I think most of us love Poyer as a person and player, but we just don’t have the cap space to be allocating so much to Safety. Only caveat I could see with Edmunds would be extending him if he has a great year and then trading Milano. Bernard just seems like such a natural fit to step right in there.

I want OBJ, but I'm getting to the point where I have no idea where he'd play. If I had my way... I'd probably cut/trade Crowder and sign OBJ. Both are only here for one year. I'd rather have OBJ later this year (even though Crowder is a legit WR) This allows Diggs/Davis/McKenzie to lock down their roles/flow with Josh and this Offense. Shakir becomes the primary back-up for all 3 spots. Start the season with Hodgins and Kumerow as WR5 and WR6. Then when OBJ gets healthy, we rotate him in with Shakir.. and if anyone struggles/gets banged up for any period of time, he gives us that insurance.

As much as I roll my eyes at the nonstop high end defensive investment on this team, I actually agree here. IF Ed Oliver proves to be a top tier pass rusher from the interior, he's a priority over anyone else.. including Knox. In order: 1) Oliver 2) Knox 3) Davis (Top end WR's tend to start looking for new contracts with a year left on their deal) 4) Edmunds *In all honesty, I wouldn't make much of an effort to extend Singletary or Poyer. *Also, If Saffold stays healthy and has a good year, I would look at bringing him back.

I, personally, despise Josh Allen running a QB sweep in the middle of the field against whoever in a random regular season game. It's ridiculous and unnecessary. He also should NOT be our short yardage back. This really shouldn't need to be explained. Scrambling, QB draws here and there... sure, that's fine. Then unleash him in the Playoffs.

When people in this country have it so easy (compared to the rest of the world) that they become “woke”, whatever that means to you, we see the result … a culture that destroys itself from the inside as politicians do whatever they want in a country distracted and divided. So, since you went there, no “wokeism” is not nothing, it’s a cultural parasite eating away at our society and pinning us against each other instead of those in power.

Ford was a bad pick.. Maybe he’s salvageable, but he’s clearly not the talent many thought he was coming out of OU. Beane wasn’t the only one fooled. That said, flipping him for a 5th is Beane recognizing the mistake and doing the best he can to remedy it. We could lament taking a 2nd Rounder and turning him around for a 5th, but we also got 3 years out of him. The guy is in a contract year. Good players with bloated contracts and decent players in their contract year get moved for mid-round picks. We got a 5th round pick for a bad player (w/ some upside) in a contract year.

The more surprising aspect for me is that Beane got a 5th for a guy on the last year of his rookie deal. With Saffold on a 1 year deal, I’ve always suspected the plan all along was to spend a Top 100 pick on the OL next draft, maybe even a double dip depending on how they handle the S and LB positions. No point in extending Cody Ford to be depth, nor would he probably have accepted a depth OL contract from us… and it sounds like we had no interest in even offering.

Day 1 and 2 picks have been a mixed bag, but this Front Office straight up owns Day 3 - I'm good with trading away fringe OL depth for a 5th round pick. (Braces for Bobby Hart to be the back-up Guard)

Probably not. Once they get through this year, Watson has the potential of making them a contender. "Potential"... I'm not sold on Watson without Hopkins and not having played for 2 years. Baker on a low level starter contract could be somewhat intriguing in the NFC, but I think he's good enough that he'll want (and get) and B-level QB contract, which given his limitations is still too much to pay him and then provide the requisite talent around him to be successful.

It's pretty wild how different the RB situation looks right now, compared to last season. We don't have a workhorse stud RB, but I'd argue that we potentially have a Top 10 backfield with Singletary, Moss and Cook... That's a far cry from where we've been in that room. Singletary is a legitimate lead back, not elite.. but average to above average at everything. Moss, now healthy, looks like a legit power back with the added bonus of being an above average pass pro/receiving back. If Cook hits... and early indications are positive... this is a very good trio. Blackshear making it to the PS, with the chance to be RB3 next year would be icing on the cake. Not sure, given our pass happy offense and QB contract, we can wish for much more than what we're going into the season with at RB, sans burning a RD1 pick on a back.

As much as I like him... and in a perfect world, maybe we trade Singletary and roll with Moss/Cook/Blackshear (They all fit our offense better than Singletary)... The Bills aren't doing that. Singletary is a better RB, more proven and the Bills trust him. He's put in his time and the Bills likely want to get that contract year production from him before we go our separate ways in the offseason. If Blackshear doesn't make it to the PS, there will be guys like him available on Day 3 next year.
