Again... the Rams traded a 2nd and 3rd for Von Miller. And they had every intention of re-signing him. Anything equal, or more, for CMC would be insane.

You should be, and I'm sure we'll meet again. If/When we do, y'all hopefully have McDuffie, Gay and Fenton back. We'll have Tre White.

Saw one that had us going: Gervon Dexter DT RD1 Safety from Kansas in RD2 Garrett Williams, CB from Cuse in Rd3 IOL in RD4 and RD5 I honestly don't hate it. Having a dominant DL seems critical to winning Championships. If they want to draft RD1 DL every year, I'd be ok with that. We also have Jordan Phillips as a FA after the year and I'm not totally sure we are definitely going to extend Ed Oliver beyond next year if he doesn't figure out how to be a noticeable difference maker.

Trade Deadline (Nov 1) Bills Rumors / Speculation
SCBills replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Gabe has more game speed, better route running, is more physical and has better hands than Claypool. Claypool is more of a possession receiver that can get vertical on jump balls. -
Josh has a full season of highlights in just 6 games
SCBills replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have clients that come into my office every day, see my Bills helmet across from me, and light up when telling me how incredible Josh Allen is and how they watch us anytime we're on tv. I still don't know how to process that the best player in the NFL plays for us. It gets me every time. -
Bills core players who have been drafted and developed: Josh Allen Dion Dawkins Dawson Knox Gabe Davis Ed Oliver Greg Rousseau Matt Milano Tremaine Edmunds Tre White This is not a mercenary team. You'll probably have to get used to the Bills being a one year destination for vets who want a chance at a ring. We have an elite WR1 and a top end WR2. After that, we have two healthy slot guys.. One is a decent slot/gadget WR and the other a promising rookie. Kumerow will be back at some point, and provides ok depth outside. OBJ is a massive upgrade over McKenzie/Kumerow and allows us to bring Shakir along slowly.

Carolina needs to calm down.. Unless CMC is willing to restructure with whoever he's traded to, this - in my opinion - is ridiculous. The Rams traded a 2nd and 3rd for Von Miller, knowing a new contract would need to be negotiated after the season. Von. Miller. An elite player at a premium position. Carolina expects something similar for an elite player, with an injury history and a non-premium position. A guy who no contender is going to pay 12M to next year, so he's either a rental or a restructure guy. I think it would be so short-sighted to trade anything higher than a 3rd for CMC, and even then, I'd be a little annoyed if it's only a one year rental with no restructure.

PFF grades from KC...(for what they're worth)
SCBills replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh Allen does a lot in terms of pre-snap, in-pocket movement and of course his mobility to make the OL look much better than it is, at times. That being said, they are a decent pass blocking unit.. above average, according to the metrics, I believe. Mahomes was under way more pressure than Allen was play to play. I know our DL is elite, but the Chiefs have spent a ton in $$$ and Draft Investment there. -
Best deep threat in the league. Perfect fit opposite Diggs. I honestly can’t imagine how we would not lock him up long term. If money could be the issue, you don’t extend a guy like Oliver… sorry, you just don’t. For the “just pay Po” crowd.. Gabe Davis may be the reason if that doesn’t happen. I’m sure Beane has this all thought out. Davis is a core guy.. OL will come and go, RB’s will come and go.. but Diggs, Davis and Knox are the basis of this Offense around Josh Allen.

Did we just teach the NFL how to defend against KC?
SCBills replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Didn't we kind of copy the Bengals 2nd Half defensive game plan of rushing 3 and dropping 8? I know they decided to do that out of necessity, as their pass rush couldn't get home, but it worked. Not sure if they had a spy like what we did with Milano though. -
Trade Deadline (Nov 1) Bills Rumors / Speculation
SCBills replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm definitely of the mindset that I wouldn't go higher than a 4th for a rental. There are no Von Miller types out there, at least not that I know of. ...and even with the Von Miller trade, LA made that move with every intention to lock him up long term. They offered him 2 years guaranteed, where we offered 3.. they just got outbid due to their cap constraints. -
Great thing about the parity in the league is all these teams will likely still believe their seasons are alive, pretty much, to the end. Broncos Defense is absolutely ferocious, but man... Russ looks so washed. Going into the KC game, I did believe that the 1 seed will be 14-3. Thing was, I saw very realistic scenarios where both Buffalo and Kansas City are 14-3.. Still do.. Which is why that head to head is so important.

I could see it being a trade for Burns, although that would be PRICEY. I do think they saw that they got away with blitzing Allen for a half, but once we made adjustments they got burnt. They don't have the horses to run with Jones to get consistent pressure.
-
Not sure why anyone is comparing this to Buffalo… This is 100% in regards to hosting multiple Super Bowls. That’s not happening in too many of the cold weather cities.

KC did a great job offsetting the losses of Tyreek Hill and Charvarious Ward by signing Juju/MVS and drafting McDuffie and some later round corners who fit their scheme. Never the less, they (pretty clearly) aren't as dynamic without Tyreek Hill.. He's just a once in a generation player. This is essentially the position I expect us to be in next year when we likely look at replacing all, or some of, Saffold/Singletary/Edmunds/Poyer/Phillips with in-house guys (Bernard, Cook, Hamlin) and Draft Picks. Maybe we find a way to keep one or two of those guys but the reason the Bills/Chiefs seem to be locked into a decade of battles for AFC supremacy isn't just due to Allen/Mahomes.. It's also due to how elite their GM's are at roster construction. Luckily for us, we don't have a guy the absurd level of Tyreek Hill to make a decision on.
-
Not sure if it's the same sequence, but we went for it on 4th down and McKenzie is wide open and literally trips over his own feet for what should have been a semi-routine catch for a professional receiver.
-
There's a lot of scar tissue from 13 seconds that, justifiably, taints some of our views towards the coaching staff.. but it's time to let that go and recognize that we have a phenomenal staff in place, led by a top tier Head Coach.
-
As long as Brown is back in a few weeks, all good. Quessenberry is certainly good enough to hold it down for the time being. Bills OL is pretty solid tbh. For all the accolades the Chiefs OL gets, and rightfully so with all the investment (Money/Picks) Mahomes was under more pressure than Allen and we actually ran the ball better than they did. Granted, our DL is elite.. but I think people who constantly harp on our OL don't watch many other OL's around the league.

Hot take: Shakir should be the starting slot receiver going forward
SCBills replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not going to kill McKenzie for the fumble yesterday... that was just a bad playcall, weird pitch timing and then he tried to make a play instead of falling on it. Whatever. What we can't have, is a slot receiver that trips over his own feet on a 4th and Goal TD pass resulting in a turnover on downs.. only to drop another pass when we are backed up at our 2 yard line and needing a play to get out of our own end zone. I think McKenzie is a decent slot wr who can give us some nice gadget/jet sweep looks, but hes just that ... decent ... Shakir in his limited exposure shows a much, much higher upside, and I think it's time to make the move coming out of the bye. That doesn't mean McKenzie is benched.. I would just shake up the roles/snap allotment a bit to get Shakir out there more. -

Zero reason to extend Edmunds and Poyer with how they’ve been struggling against the one team we need to beat. -

Von constantly taking himself out of the play on some of these rushes.
