I don’t trust Dak either, but they seemed a “Dak” away from being on par with them a few weeks ago. Eagles won due to Cooper Rush being a walking shenanigan.
-
Eagles are good, but I agree .. Cowboys w/ Dak and a healthy 49ers I give even odds to beat Philly.

Jerry Hughes, game wrecker

This doesn’t feel like I’m watching an NFL game. Conference USA vibes

Singletary is fine for a 3rd rounder. He’d look great with the push the Texans are getting right now also. Way too early to judge Cook.. especially with how frustrating this staff can be with rookies. Moss was definitely a miss. Generally, I agree though … Three of the best RB’s in the league are rookies.. Pierce, Walker and Hall (prior to injury)

Dameon Pierce is an absolute stud

Ravens WR Rashod Bateman done for the year - foot surgery

Makes no sense that they swung a trade for Roquan given that they must've had an idea this could be coming. Claypool and Cooks probably look pretty good to them right about now. Who knows.. maybe Texans give in and release Cooks. Can't see OBJ tying his next contract to Lamar. -
Crowder. Chances are he doesn't come back this year, at all. Diggs Davis OBJ McKenzie Shakir Kumerow
-
Re: The Chiefs, they've already restructured Mahomes deal, which makes sense as he's signed long term and is one year ahead of Allen. We have that option this offseason with JA's contract. The Bills and Chiefs are both run so well, strong scouting and drafts, and will both be playing accounting games repeatedly with the Banks of Mahomes and Allen.

When healthy, I'd say the Bills have a massive edge at QB and a moderate edge on the OL. I won't deny though, the Dolphins are loaded.. Chargers East. I may give them the edge at the skill positions with Hill, Waddle, Gesicki, Mostert, Wilson etc. We'll have to see how the Bills deploy Hines, because we don't really have a reliable #2 option after Diggs at the moment. We'll see if Chubb can elevate their defense to be on par with the Bills.. I'm going to go with no, but they have a lot of talent on that DL with some really nice secondary players.

The Bills have given Davis and McKenzie ample time to show we don't need OBJ. -Davis, for what he is, is great.. One of the best big play WR's in the NFL. He, however, has not shown the ability to be a reliable #2 in a pass heavy offense. -McKenzie is what he is.. A speed gadget/slot. He, however, has not shown the ability to be a reliable pure slot/#3 WR. -Outside of them we have a promising rookie in Shakir and a big body WR in Kumerow. Both very well suited in their current roles as guys who round out the WR room. OBJ may or may not be what we hope he is... but it's worth the swing. For those worried about chemistry, just remember that Beane talks to Josh about any big move he may make to get the temperature of the locker room. So far, we've heard a ringing endorsement of OBJ from Allen, Von, Diggs and Tre... Not sure who else some of y'all need to hear from before this worry is assuaged.

Ask the other 30 teams who they are more scared of: Tua, Miami running backs, OL, Hill, Waddle and Gesicki OR Allen, Bills running backs, OL, Diggs, Davis and Knox I think you’ll have quite the unanimous response, but likely not what you are thinking.

Chiefs trading Hill and then signing a couple WR’s isn’t an example of the cap not being real. It’s a very real example that it is. The cap is real in the sense that if you hand out a massive contract to a guy you are afraid won’t play to the level you’re paying after a year, two etc., that’s when you get in trouble. Chiefs clearly felt Hill may hit a wall at some point during his contract where his guaranteed money becomes an issue relative to his play. Instead, they signed two WR’s to short term contracts for around the same money combined. Key phrase.. short term. They aren’t locked down by MVS or Juju. Also, they got picks. Picks are how you keep a roster stacked around a top heavy roster. They used some draft capital to bring in Kadarius Toney, who still has two more years left on a rookie deal. All moves made due to the cap being real. It can be manipulated, but if Hill drops off a cliff in Year 3 of that Dolphins contract, Miami is on a world of hurt if they’re looking at needing to pay Tua. It’s why Poyer isn’t signed long term. If we give him a massive contract, which a few teams likely will offer after this season, but he continues to have injury plagued seasons, we all of a sudden find ourselves with a 3-4 year albatross of a contract.

I’m just glad we finally have legit speed options all over the offense. Hines, Cook and McKenzie gives us a ton of speed options at RB/Slot while teams focus on Diggs and Davis outside, along with a fast TE in Knox.

It’s crazy to me how such big decisions come about so quickly. Im sure the loose parameters for a deal were given to Indy beforehand, but still … as of 2:30, an hour and a half before the deadline, we were of the belief none of these moves would happen … wild.
-
I think the hope is to sign him mid-November. Get him some practices/time with the team. Then get him out there in mid-December for the final four games to have him ready to go for the Playoffs.
-
I think Crowder’s Bills tenure is over. Beane is already talking about how Hines can play slot for a full game, if needed. We have McKenzie and Shakir… and judging by Beane’s comments and the NFL landscape, unless someone blows OBJ away with an offer or he’s just unable to play, he’s coming here.

This. I think Cover 1 broke down how a 2 year incentive laden deal would work, given most of those incentives could be pushed to be paid in ‘24. Gives Odell some security and the ability to show what he can do over 1.25 seasons on a team with top notch facilities and injury management. Then cash in on his one last mega payday.
-
Not sure what to make of the Dolphins future, as they have a ton of guys to pay with not many draft picks. (nevermind the QB decision) That said, they are as top end talented as anyone in the league after this move. At the end of the day - they’re still going to have to deal with the fact that once we get to the Playoffs, they have Tua, in a conference with Allen and Mahomes.
-
I’ll admit that I’ll be a bit disappointed if this move means Cook is relegated to the Zack Moss depth role. His talent is evident and he finally had a breakout game on Sunday Night showing inside running, outside running and pass catching ability. That being said.. Singletary/Hines is a proven, legit backfield. Two above average backs who can play any down in this offense. Will also be interesting to see what the future holds for them. We finally got that proven pass catching back, but his cap hits for the next two years - while not crazy - are still notable. Given we can cut him after this year, and the sheer amount of talented FA backs, it’s likely in both teams best interests to restructure the deal. Likely means this is Singletary’s last year here and we roll with Hines/Cook and a power back in the draft/free agency.
-
Why can’t our backfield for next year be Hines, Cook and a mid/late round bruiser back? We’re likely never going to draft or pay a Josh Jacobs/Nick Chubb type. Hines and a 2nd year Cook give us two guys with speed and pass catching ability. As long as Cook can develop pass pro ability, what else do we need? Sign or Draft a mid/late round big back for short yardage and let’s go.
-
Hes a faster JD McKissic and we offered him a multi-year deal before it fell apart. Id expect us to try to restructure his deal and enter next year with Hines/Cook as the 1/2. That is a ton of speed/pass catch ability in the backfield. We can find a bruiser mid-late rounds of the draft to be a short yardage guy we hoped Moss would be.
